My proudest personal achievement came after years of begging my best friend to play with me in City Of Heroes. Finally I bought her a copy of the game and several time cards so she would have no excuse NOT to play.

In short order she met someone who could understand her sarcastic humor in spite of only have text to convey her words. Didn't take long from that to become friends, form a long-distance relationship, and finally marry. It was totally worth having my best friend move literally half way around the globe to know that she is happy, loved, and understood. Congratulations, MK and B!



Sadly around the same time the opposite was happening to me. My City Of Heroes friend-turned-fiance relationship crashed harder than the Rikti ship in RWZ. Ironically being able to play City Of Heroes helped me through that time. While ours was not a CoH success story, that experience and my resulting choices later lead on a direct path to my good and happy marriage.

Like during that horrible failure, I hold firm to the believe that while now may feel so dark I can't think how to keep balance in my life come December, somehow, someway, after this beautiful window into imagination has shut a new door will open to something even more wonderful.

Thank you City Of Heroes: Game, forums, community all. The lessons I have learned and memories we have shared will continue to be a force of good in my life. My goal will be to be an influence of good for others even as you have been for me.

I could talk about Dynexus (illusion/FF controller), my soloing badger for collecting story content. Or Fairy Tale (plant controller), my Freedom Horde alt whose social time brought me joy every Monday. Or Animorphosis (beast mastermind), who I had so much fun with I rolled up two more masterminds to play using the excuse of earning Hero merits. But instead I'd like to talk about my most meaningful alt...



Healing Hopes (empathic defender): The name held a double meaning of what I wanted to be for those who were hurting and what I desperately needed for myself.

Like others, this was an alter ego created when my life was at such a low that I questioned ever making a positive impact in the world.

She embodies all that I strive to be: Protected, caring, respectful, optimistic, enduring (one of my few level 50s), beautiful, pure with a magical sense of wonder for the world, and yes, able to freely soar to heart's content.

Her theme song was "Light Of Love" by Yoko Kanno. After this last weekend "My Name Is Hope" by Kirsten Millsap will be her, and my, new steadfast.




May we always fly on wings of hope.

Transferred/renamed a character for this. What can I say? The challenge was an interesting excuse for spending more time in the costume creator.

Went with Ex_Libris, as few know about her anymore and so she seemed less likely to be represented. Also AFAIK Jill is the only redname to actually be in a Roleplaying forum IC thread. Might tweak the costume depending on reception in the Costume (Re-)Design Thread.

Already had fun with it. I came out of the costume creator to see a big red notice in my chat box. Arbiter Hawk was teleporting anyone who wanted into Paragon Dance Party! That was a nice treat. Afterwards I hung out with a rotating dozen other players near our friendly Arbiter (and sometimes car) with his Nemesis ponies in Pocket D, sharing gratitude for all the rednames have done.

I'm hoping the name and floating books emote I used were eye-catching enough to invite people to look at the bio to learn the info about your event on Saturday, TonyV. *fingerscrossed*

I've been burning myself out trying to save copies of stories from the Roleplaying forums onto my personal hard drive. They includes stories I've had the pleasure to participate in, stories I've enjoyed reading, stories I meant to read 'someday', and every other fiction piece locatable.

What other forum roleplaying pieces are recommended reading?

That's a pretty great video, Arcanaville! Hope you've had a chance to complete the trial in the intended map, too. Though "negaverse" Magisterium looks like it might be easier to run since it highlights the targets clearly.

(PS The UI is definitely ingrained for me. I kept trying to left-click and drag-down the mouse to change the angle view.)
