I'm just going to say there's a reason they call them cult classics and leave it at that, because it should be obvious.
I personally don't get the point of trying to argue it in this case though. For decades people have been standing up in costumes in movie theaters and acting out RHPS as the movie plays. I don't really see the Glee version as any different, other than in this case it's not a rehash, it's using RHPS in the background to tell their own story.
After seeing the episode I don't see it as any different in concept than Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. -
There will always be games built for and best used on the PC, up until things evolve beyond the PC as we know it.

In a year that saw Starcraft 2, you can't with a straight face claim PC gaming is dying.
It's an if you build it, they will come scenario. Build a great game on ANY platform, and people will go out of their way to play it. -

He always could sing decently well.
Something I meant to mention before. I was massively stoked to see Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf. I dunno if their cameo was well known before the episode, but it was a surprise to me, and incredibly squee worthy. -
Quote:Demonizing it was part of the ironic message I felt. Not to mention that is pretty much spot on how it would be treated in a lot of high schools if they tried to put it on as a student musical. My only concern was that it seemed to demonize Rocky Horror a bit, but of course I love the original and have a massive bias.
And they nailed the beginning, absolutely perfect.
If you really want an unequivocal message on how they feel about RHPS, pay attention to Shue's (sp) speech at the end.
I really loved the episode. I felt it was tasteful and flirtatious without being trashy. I also felt that it was laughably pitch perfect in light of the stupid arguments about the GQ spread. The sexiest moments were had by the adults playing adult characters, not the adults playing kids. All their outfits were very nearly demure. That may not be what they were thinking or planning when they shot the episode, but it works in light of the "controversy" People are worried about adult actors acting like sexy adults in their off time, but when it comes to their roles as children on the show, its clear they give some thought to how sexy is too sexy.
Edit- From the true Gleeks out there, can someone tell me who sang the Lips opener? I'm not familiar enough with voices. -
I'll be watching this as a Rocky fan, not so much a Glee fan. Looking forward to it though.

I alternate Hero/Villain and sort by descending order for levels.
My girlfriend orders her's solely based on levels.
Everyone has their own personal system I think. -

Quote:Also to note, high level villains in Grandville should take care. I got a Halloween tip and while people were gathering, someone did some more ToT. They were 4 buildings away from the mission door but some kind of door bug dropped them in the mission, and we had to rush to get in. Luckily no one lost out since we just took a bit of extra time killing things and grabbing glowies to balance it out.Only exception to this is if someone gets into the mission late. Since it is such a short mission, it is very easy to get the "not on the team long enough" notice upon completion. No prestige or xp for the completion nor any of the badges.
However the point was there are misaligned doors in GV and care needs to be taken. -
I've heard a couple reports otherwise, but nothing definitive. My personal experience has been every Halloween tip came from a Treat Door click.
I'm far more willing to believe someone had a Halloween tip, didn't notice, then got a regular tip on a mob kill and saw the Halloween tip when they looked. -

Quote:There's a fundamental difference between the two. Roddenberry didn't own the property outright, Paramount did. Lucas however owns nearly everything to do with Star Wars.Case in point Gene Roddenberry's been gone for 19 years now and there has been some pretty interesting things that have happened to Star Trek since then. Some good, some bad. Who knows what new Star Wars trilogies and/or TV shows are going to be made in the decades after Lucas.
While under normal circumstances those rights go to his heirs, it's entirely possible that he has a clause in his will that nothing new can be done after his passing, and all they can do is make money on the royalties of existing deals. -
Quote:Ergo nothing, because anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. On Infinity and Guardian, there was zero interest. Ergo, too frequent.
In the past two months I've seen 2 spontaneous invasions on Pinnacle and both were well attended. I even managed to finish off the accolade on my BD scrapper. Other people on my team expressed frustration or disappointment that they still had more work to do to get their's, since they didn't catch invasions happening that often.
By your logic, does anecdote trump anecdote or do you just want to accept that the zero interest you saw may have had to do with bad timing or at least isn't a general case. -

Not really. Someone is still forced to sift through a page or so of out of date posts to realize what the new question/information is. Someone's intent has nothing to do with the necroposting rule, it has to do with clarity of conversation.

Quote:It's meant to be. They said if they ever put any sort of Purple (ultra-rare) recipe on a vendor, it would be at a ridiculously high price.I know the PVP sets are supposed to be rare and all but it seems like the exchange rate on this is artificially high.
It your question wasn't rhetorical, then your answer is, they meant you to spend a lot of investment in getting what you want. The upside is, you are guaranteed to get exactly what you want, not a random chance at a random drop.
Personally I'd tell you that your example is a bit hyperbolic. Running your tip missions and one TF a day isn't that onerous, and can cut the time required more than in half.
The other alternative would be to spend your A-Merits on high value recipes then resell them to the AH for the INF to get what you want, if what you're seeking is something readily available.
Either way, there are better ways to leverage the A-Merit system than to make it as deliberately grindy as possible and then complaining it was set up for you to fail.
Realistically though, they want you to PvP to get PvP drops. There's nothing wrong with designing their system to make doing the intended action easier than the alternative. -
Quote:Rularuu aren't bad, per se, they just take incredibly good timing. Of the characters listed, one of the best is actually the Plant/Empathy Controller. Seeds of Confusion and Carrion Vines are both incredibly handy for aggro mitigation. The downside to that being, it's a controller not a dominator, which means the melee characters have to be on the ball when it comes to bosses.Sounds like maybe we should wait until they get the aoe tanker or brute to 50 and my kin corr to 50 as well, then take this on.
Shield characters are great, but not particularly against Rularuu. You'd have to make sure they were capped to positional defenses as a starting point, and even then there would have to be good support since Shield isn't as great when it comes to debuff resistance.
Overall the key issue with doing it with 3 is, things can happen very quickly against Rularuu to take one person or another out, and then you have to be able to finish with 2, or die. Rely too much on your Stone Tanker for example, and he get's Caged by a Wisp, you run into issues.
Your Fire/Kin Corr is great at offensive buffing and damage. But when its 3 against Rularuu, someone who is better at Crowd Control or defensive buffing is more helpful.
Three can fight Rularuu spawned for 8 and win. It's not easy though. -
All Shard TFs require 8 to start them, so yes you will need at least some fillers to get going.
Also a big downer will be the fact that since 8 is the default number, missions will spawn for 8 even when you only have 3 playing.
At least 2 of them have mission(s) with 4 person simultaneous click computers, so if you are serious about doing it with 3, avoid those. (Doc Q and I forget the other one).
It can be done, it will just be an exercise in tedium to try and power through with only 3/8 playing.
As for time estimates, I'd say some of the ones I've seen in this thread are long for an average team. Powers like Assemble the team and Mission teleporter can really cut down on time, not to mention O-portal for those hauls back to Paragon for a couple missions.
At least 2 of the Shard TFs fall within the normal parameters for TFs, in that they take 2-3 hours with a competent team. The other 2 are longer. -
To be clear, we (players) Asked for the upcoming Rikti invasion.
I personally don't feel there's too much in the way of events, just too many crowded together in this part of the year.
Removing any off calendar methods of getting badges or costume parts is not a good solution, unless they come up with some kind of alternative.
Maybe they could consider some kind of Invasion Weekend system, where one weekend a month they drop an invasion of a specific type on a rotating schedule. Zombies and/or Banners without ToT, or Rikti. -
Quote:Just so long as the fix is only applied to pets who are ranged appropriate. This AI bug that causes Phantasm now to like to go into melee is a real pain. Phanty is constantly killed. Either the AI needs to be fixed, or the Devs need to substantially increase his Defense or Resistance so he can survive. I would rather see the AI fixed . . . Phanty is supposed to be a Energy Blaster pet from range, using his decoy to protect himself.
My Animated Stone and Flytrap are much more awesome now.
Just remember, one powerset's crippling bug is another set's long awaited improvement. -
Quote:Since it's based on a door click, chances are the same alone or in a group. Question then becomes how quickly can the groups be cleared, and I don't really think most teams of 8 clear Trick spawns with multiple bosses as quickly as a smaller group kills smaller spawns. Here is a tip for the Halloween tips, get in a 8 player team and tot. Chances are the group will have a much better chance at getting the tip mission than soloing then run the mission as a group... Every one wins.
My personal recommendation is a group of 4 or 5. -
Quote:Or just go Rogue long enough to run a Katie Hannon TF with some heroes.I just got the message that I can access the witches' hat on my villain after getting the Meticulous Badge. Was this announced somewhere and I missed it? Am I going to have to try and get this badge on every single one of my villains this week before the offer expires?

Quote:Have you read the definition of Natural Origin as it is ingame?Actually, I wondered why the VEATs were natural, but especially the crab and fortunata, they AREN'T natural, one uses the highly advanced crab-pack for their "powers", while the fortunata is a psychic which is above and beyond the natural human, through one way or another...although i suppose you can't change origin after creation
In the world of CoH some people have psionic potential and the Fortunata training unlocks that.
As for Soldiers, yes they use weaponry, but they're specially trained in it's use, and the bulk of their abilities are explain as Training, not granted by their equipment.
Well within the confines of a Natural hero. -
Quote:One team that only needs to know enough to pay attention to split up evenly between 4 banners and gather at Banner A then B C and D in order? More rewards for that? 5 badges for 30minutes of paying attention is suitable reward for a simple task.Atlas seems like the only place that can do it due to shear numbers. I find the rewards lackluster for an event that requires some form of strategy and coherence. Yeah it really shouldn't since the 'strategy' and 'coherence' is extremely minor. But it is still there, and it needs to be applied on the fly with whoever is in the zone. Perhaps better rewards for fewer people in the zone who can accomplish it.
