Like reiella said, just because there are parts you don't like, doesn't mean the totality isn't loved. In fact I'd say the fact they loved it is part of what provokes such emotion.

I'd rather see Crush and Crushing Field apply the Collapse emote to enemies.

You really consider 5 tips a day every day for 60 days, plus or minus the amount of Reward Merits you convert, to be easy?
Or playing the 2-3 hours a day needed to run all 3 trials every day for almost a month?
Man, people occasionally try to tell me I'm out of touch with average players. Nice to know I'm not. -
well that bit should be easy I'd think. Time dilation effects as they approach light speed would mean little or no relative time would pass for them.
-
Nitpick all you like, that's still not the point I was making, and not what I said.
If you're gonna argue specifics, I'll simply say that before the halo-effect change to defense bonuses, and the addition of PvP IOs, it wasn't easy at all to cap, and I find it more than a little silly that you consider a PvP rare that generally sells for over the INF cap to be a viable part of the solution for most players. -
Quote:I agree it's not a big deal to email the recipe. However to email the recipe plus 3-5 pieces of salvage, 1 at a time, with the mandatory 15 sec delay between them? That's something that's been getting on my nerves more and more lately.Sure, why not. *shrug* Though it's not that big a deal, IMHO, to just email the recipe.
If they don't use the voucher system as the OP suggests, maybe they could look into a way to bundle a recipe and everything needed for it into a single mail.
That other game allows for up to 12 items in a single mail. I'm of the mind if something similar could be done here, then the amount of traffic and load on the server would overall be less. -
Quote:I'm not sure why that's sad. Other dimensions are right over there. Close enough to touch. You don't need big ships to go there. Most of the time it's habitable and explorable. It doesn't take years to get there. In terms of energy, it's probably cheaper to bend space big enough for a passageway for people and equipment than it would be to go beyond the speed of light.I just find it kinda sad that its apparently easier to tear the dimensional fabric of space and time into an entirely new universe than it is to develop FTL capabilities and explore our own universe.
All in all, it seems like there are a lot fewer hurdles to interdimensional exploration than interstellar. -
Quote:To be clear, even if someone did, the GMs of this game more than likely wouldn't accept it and make an exception for you. Their job is to protect this game from issues with legal liability. If it does have IP baggage, no one can give you official permission.
GMs can and will generic names, costumes, or character bios that make use of someone else's intellectual property. -

You have to look at the list of changes since the intro of Energy Aura for those last 2 changes to make sense and be seen as the awesome that they are:
Energy Aura introduced with no heal and Energy Drain and Conserve Energy
Elec Armor introduced with no heal and Conserve power
Fix #1- Energy Drain given it's per target heal (and the final version judged inadequate as in most cases it only gives a green insp worth of heal)
Fix #2- Elec Armor's Conserve Power is changed to the heal+end discount, and generally judged to be a better solution.
Fix #3- The changes announced today. EA gets the better self heal, and it gets an added survivability tool to make up for both the fact that it is harder to cap Typed defense, and that with an aggro aura there will be more incoming damage for Energy Brutes.
While I will kind of miss my sneaky Scrute that plays differently than other Brutes, I am glad to get 3 tools for added survivability.
I'm incredibly pumped by these changes and can't decide how best to use them. I may revamp my EM/EA Brute made the first night of CoV, or I may make Hyper Lemur on the VIP server as a KM/EA scrapper.
PS- don't let the similarity in names fool you. The Stalker (and Kinetic) power are Knockbacks, not a true Repel effect (like Force Bubble and Telekinesis) -
I dont run them every day, but I enjoy them when I do.

Quote:I don't deny that it's Sci Fi. I deny that it's good science fiction. Since it's central sci fi element is time travel and the mystery island, there are numerous shows that handle time and dimension travel better and more entertainingly.Ignoring the list itself and whether people believe it should be on this list at all, I'm utterly baffled how Lost is being denied as Science Fiction status from various people (not to mention those who haven't actually seen it O.o
)
Seriously. Baffled.
Good drama, good mystery, good characters, sure. But the sci fi elements always fell flat on Lost, especially compared to other shows dealing with time travel. -
My question about Regen Brutes is, are they going to make Integration into a Taunt aura to allow for easier tanking? Presumably that's what is changing about EA, so I wouldnt be surprised, but if that's the case is it going to be a port of RttC or just the addition of an aura?
Also, whatever you do for Brutes, please don't add a taunt aura to regen Scrappers. I'm perfectly happy with Scrapper Regen as is and like shedding aggro like water off a duck's back when I need to. -
So you really really need to make a new thread on this every couple days?

Was happy to see this announcement. It means I get to break out this new sig I've been saving.
Note: I'm not in closed beta. But when they said there was definitely more they hadn't announced yet about i21 I had a feeling this would be it. Plus I have a real love for people who claim their guesses as absolute fact instead of just being able to say "my guess is" -
Quote:And still, sometimes people will surprise you and accept that nice things done for nice reasons are nice. As great and helpful as Coyote was on the forums during the game's development, and as sad as his death was, I still feel there's more to be said about the fact that this is still a really great community 7 years later and there are some players who have made significant contributions to that.I disagree. I hope they never do it again. If they do it even one more time, then there's going to be a clamor to open the doors for every player who passes away to be put into the game. It's a no-win situation. You can't draw a line to determine who was "helpful enough" or who didn't quite make the cut. There would be very bad feelings all around. And I guarantee you that at some point, someone is going to fake their own death to get into the game. Yes, people really are that scummy.
Slippery slope arguments don't really hold a lot of water even in reasonable cases, but go so far as saying someone would fake their own death to get in the game, I think it's safe to say you're pushing it to make a point. -
No worries, I consider this no worse than the people who were insisting that the Blade Princes you see in Mortimer Kal were newly added for that SF, when a Blade Prince has been one of those respec contacts for years, and when you see Blade Princes in at least one Patron arc that I can think of.
-
I'm going to take a slightly different tack. It's good to know Coyote is staying around. But I feel like in the 7 intervening years there have been plenty of helpful players around who should be given a similar honor in the new tutorial. I don't think it should be put to player vote or even nominations. The devs should pick someone(s) to honor that represents the 7 years the Live community has shaped the game.

I tend to only convert Astrals and Emps to threads when I have a slot unlocked and want a power (or upgraded power) made.

Quote:Nice prospective players can't just come here now. Nothing much will change. These forums aren't open to the public which is essentially what it would be come if anyone who set up for Freedom could post. This post is one of things that concerns me about issue 21. How would this nice prospective player been able to ask his question and get answers from all you great folks without access to the forums as a free player.
[EDIT]
Oh and yes, you should really get this game. The community is *awesome* and the game is a *ton* of fun! -
To be clear, we were told in the past that the reason this wasn't kept going wasn't player backlash, but because no companies were interested. Advertising is a tricky thing, and in the economy the shape it's in, I don't think many companies are going to find a few thousands of eyes on their ads worth the money.
-
Aett is correct. The game isn't dead, you just need to know the best way to look for people. No one is going to make you the promise that you will be able to get enough people to do big things at any hour, but most of the time getting a group together or just finding a few people to team with isn't difficult.
-
To be clear on this, since I'm not sure anyone said it specifically. The numeric setting will not change the ranks of the enemies you see under normal circumstances. The composition of groups is based on the size of the team in most missions.
