In theory, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't, but I'm not sure you want to be holding your breath for Stalkers to get the set.

Yeah, we have a new alien threat on the horizon. I can't imagine they'll live up to the hype, but they'll be legit alien invaders, at least.

He shows up in the new tutorial, and in a couple of villain arcs (in addition to the LRSF, where all the other candidates are). He's also one of the signature characters in the art for the new character creator, so he's probably safe just for fact that I don't see them redoing that art. Incidentally, States shows up there, too...

People who had a problem with predatory marketing being happy with not being treated as prey is funny? It rather makes perfect sense to me, especially since people still seem happy to pay for what they want.
-
Similarly, here, if purchased Inspirations lasted longer, and didn't disappear on death...maybe. But in their current form, they are zero value, when you consider they can be purchased in-game for 50 influence. When I can pick up a full tray by defeating a single group of enemies, there's no reason to think they should be worth blowing real money on.
-
Just because they sell for 90 points a pop doesn't mean they're worth that much. Heck, because of the way they're consumed, they're practically without any worth at all. If they worked more like, say, the Experienced power, they'd be worth attaching a price tag to, at least, but even then, more than around 20 points each would be a rip-off.

Definite improvements, but I'm not getting my hopes up until the costume problem is fixed and we see the costs. 80 points remains way too much for a bunch of crap inspirations.

Quote:I admit, I'd forgotten, I did want one of the gun sets, but the costumes as a whole didn't much impress me, and I don't care to pay for more pieces where I can't get the colors I want.Gunslinger set disappointing? i only really have one gunslinger themed character, a pistol wielding cybernetic kangaroo Blaster, but Gunmetal Roo could use some new... oh wait, G R is female... never mind.
Well, i will be getting the cigarillo anyway, and if i ever decide to make a male gunslinger or other male character that needs chaps and a nifty-ish jacket i'll probably get the rest of the set. -
Quote:I'll be shocked if it's changed at all from testing.Gunslinger stuff for sure. Hope there are more options for the ladies, and less pre-tinting overall. Not holding my breath though.
*yawn*. So disappointing. I really did think there would be more new stuff coming worth spending points on. -
The two have similar taste when it comes to pants, as well.

Quote:There are also Moment and Protean, who are non-Kheldian shapeshifters who exist in canon. The only "canon" shapeshifters we have, obviously, are Kheldians - and they're just rearranging energy patterns to match previously encountered hosts.
However, I think the question in this topic (it's sort of confusing to me, too), is more along the lines of "where do werewolves, and similar sorts, come from in CoX?", for which the answer is "wherever you want them to". For example, Council/5th Column wolves are mutated humans as a result of a failed Nictus merging, Shadowhunter's wolves are just...really big bipedal wolves, and Grym meant to show up in a fantasy RPG, but took a wrong turn at Albuquerque. -

Dang, I didn't realize they were selling them as anything other than a complete set. Coulda saved myself some money if I'd know that, but since only the set part was listed under the sale category, I didn't think to check individually. Wish I had known, since I really didn't need/want those Basilisk's Gaze procs.

Quote:Oh, thanks for clearing that up. The initial announcement made it sound like there would be two sales. Glad to know, guess I can browse this sale a little closer, then. The Black Friday promotions will run through Monday, Nov 28 - 11:59:59 PM Pacific.
We technically don't have a Cyber Monday Sale. Nothing new will be added on Monday. (...I got quite a few too many chuckles when I said "Cyber"...., so Black Friday became the focus.).

Quote:Honestly, I was hoping for it was the utility power (albeit nerfed some), especially given that Ghost Widow, the signature Dominator, who is supposed to be a Dark/Dark makes a lot of use of it, but since we know now that the utility power is Gather Shadows, it seems unlikely. No other Assault set gets two powers like that.So I'm being unrealistic hoping for Dark regeneration on Doms?
On that note, I also wonder if Ghost Widow will get a slight powers revamp? I kinda hope so. That'd be cool. -
Quote:This has become a big problem for me, as well. While I don't have the fortitude to test the various raids repeatedly on Beta if I don't want to burn myself out, I have made a point to try all of them out at least once up until this point. However, that's not so easy to do with the copy tool down, because playing a level-bumped 50 with SOs, even with access to Incarnate powers, is very different from playing a "normal" character for me, given that I switch to IO set builds around level 30.Fix the damned copy tool already!
Yeah I know, you had the pummet and this is a short week. Fine.
NEXT WEEK put a dev on it for a day and have them fix the infernal thing.
This is hurting your beta testing!
I can't provide effective feedback if I can't play "normally".
Sorry for the slight hijack there, Kitsune. I do hope you can get a group together. -
Yes, they stack.
The only thing to keep in mind with -Damage is that, it's sorta tricksy, and is resisted by a target's own Damage Resistance. So if you hit a character who has 50% Smashing Resistance and 0% Fire Resistance with a -70% Damage debuff, the target's Smashing Damage will be reduced -35%, and Fire Damage reduced -70%. -

The problem with all the consumables on the market as they stand is that they cost too much, have too short a duration, and do too little. Dual and Team Inspirations, need to have "large inspiration" values at all times, and last for several minutes, if not a good hour or so. XP boosters would work better if they worked like Experienced. Windfall and Prestige boosters and such have the same problem. If I'm not essentially blocking out an hour of straight farming, I feel like I'm "not getting my money's worth". These are things that I'm not entirely opposed to in concept, but don't manage to be worth the price, as they currently exist.
Basically, if I by a "consumable", I want to be able to see a "permanent" effect gained from consuming it. Things like XP boosters work because I'll never lose the XP I gained from them. Inspirations and temp powers, not so much. The attuned Recipes in the market are a great example of this as well: they will serve a purpose in my characters' builds forever, but once they're placed, I can't use them for anyone else, so as long as I keep building characters, I keep having a reason to consume new ones.
The other part of the problem is the fact that, in the case of these consumables, I'm not buying an actual product. I buying a piece of data, that has been copied from one server to another. There is essentially zero overhead, and no cost to Paragon Studios to replace what I buy. They don't have to send a migrant worker out to the Touch of Death fields to harvest another vine once I've made my purchase. Hence, the prices tend to feel excessive, especially since with things like IOs, it's stacking them that makes them worthwhile. I might not buy one set of a given recipe at 500 points, but at 200, I'd buy three.
That said, in regards to temp powers, the "summon one of my other characters" option that people mentioned is pretty danged cool, and, yeah, I'd pay a few hundred points to get a few charges of that, possibly against my better judgement, just because I'd love to have a few of my characters get to team up.
