Not sure what the big deal is about this; characters will just be playing in Praetorian zones with different story arcs, right? New content is nice, I suppose, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
The big deal is now both sides will have access to ALL ATs, and it won't be just in the Praetorian zones. Heroes who go rogue will have access to the Rogue Isles, and Villains who are redeemed will have access to Paragon City. It has ramifications for putting together team throughout the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually we don't know that. We know that we'll be able to switch sides, but NO idea what that will entail.
[/ QUOTE ]
We do know that, from the Press Release, from the email, and from Posi's interview:
[ QUOTE ]
City of Heroes Going Rogue officially opens the "mirror universe" of Praetoria and an all-new alignment system that explores the shades of gray that lie between Heroes and Villains. For the first time, Hero characters can become Villains and vice versa, enabling Heroes to cross over to the Rogue Isles and Villains to experience Paragon City.
[/ QUOTE ]
Emphasis mine. It's the whole reason I started this thread!
[/ QUOTE ]
But is your fallen hero in the Praetorian Rogue Isles only?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait... there's no such thing as the Paretorian Rogue Isles... only Praetoria, which will be co-op. So:
Heroes: Paragon City + Praetoria
Villains: Rogue Isles + Praetoria
Fallen Heroes: Rogue Isles + Praetoria
Redeemed Villains: Paragon City + Praetoria
Bear in mind you can switch sides multiple times, and the survey leaked last year seemed to indicate that you could play a "double agent" role while on the opposite side if you wanted. This last part has not been confirmed, however.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, at this point, it's all theory. Unless it's been SPECIFICALLY announced, jumping the gun on how things will or will not work is very premature.
[/ QUOTE ]
We know for a fact that Heroes will be able to play in the Rogue Isles by changing alignment, and vice versa with the villains. Also, Praetoria is clearly referenced as a new zone (or set of zones).
The part about only being able to change alignment in Praetoria is an extrapolation, however.
[/ QUOTE ]
We know that heroes will be able to visit a version of the rogue isles. Will they be able to go there and take missions like other villains, or will the version of the Rogue Isles that heroes can visit be instanced and only accessible by others who have the "going rogue" edition. To what extent will heroes be able to visit the Rogue Isles? These are questions that are not answered. For all we know, side switching might be restricted to level 40+ and thus "fallen" heroes can only visit Grandville.
That's my point. It's WAY too early into our understanding of the new expansion to attempt to figure out its impact on the rest of the game. Hold the doooooom until we know something more definite. -

Why have lower servers when its peoples fault that they chose champion or protector
[/ QUOTE ]
Joined Guardian back in the day. When it was one of the top servers. Like freedom is now. But alot left and as soon as toon transfer came in it became even more dead... So not my fault it died... So why punish us.. Guardian is my home and i aint leaving.. Not starting all over on freedom.. And shouldn't be FORCED to buy transfers are start over to get same Game Play
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm, here's a thought. What ever you're smoking if you give it up for a few months you might be able to afford the server transfers.
Guardian NEVER had even remotely close to freedom's population. It was NEVER even in the top three. It has ALWAYS had a low population. Nothing has changed.
You are the one who constantly claims to play something stupid like 60 hours a week, right? Take 10 of those, get a job and pay for the transfers. Don't screw over my gameplay because you're too cheap to fix your own problems for yourself. -
One of the best games for character customization and you're complaining about selection? Do you and I play the same game? I've been here 5 years and I've still not played every powerset high enough to see every power.
No offense, but they're adding two sets in the near future. If you're going to demand new powers, perhaps being a bit more specific would be in order.
There are plenty of threads on this very forum with power set suggestion. Perhaps you want to throw your support behind some of those? -

sorta another Magic Booster thread thingy >.>
I believe there are also a couple current costume hat/hair items that could use it as well.
Now...I love the new hats, especially the Occult one for males...my problem is, the color detail on the hat isn't necessarily the color I want my hair to be...
Would it be possible to have a third coloring option?

You're asking us? You do realize this board asks *players* questions right?
Short answer - nearly anything's possible with enough work. It's if that work is worth the end result that determines if a feature will end up in game. -
Mail system has been asked for constantly for at least the time since WoW went to open beta.
Reason against chopping zeros off? Ever bought inspirations? Things DO sell for only a small amount of inf. -
[ QUOTE ]
I actually believe they datamined for the times that it takes place - before they started having regular maintenance times, mind you - and found that the time of the day they have it now is the most sparse.
[/ QUOTE ]
I seem to recall this as well. It would make sense. -

Er... the anniversary is the 28th. Getting the badge before then is a bug.
[/ QUOTE ]
It has something to do with something in my account i have had since beta - i checked with Customer Care the last badge i got when i saw the date for the 60 month and they confirmed it was a correct date for whatever reason, i know there are a few betas left out there that even get the badges before i do - was hoping one of them might have gotten it already.
[/ QUOTE ]
That may be true, but it's still a bug. If it weren't, all beta accounts would get their vet rewards early, and they don't. I know they don't because this account is a beta one, and even before I took my 4 months off, my rewards were based around having activated the day the game came out, April 28th 2004. -

I didn't say it had to be, I said usually. And I'm right. Fear is a bad reason not to do something. It's how people that are weak act.
[/ QUOTE ]
Call it fear if you like, but others call it prudence. I don't let my child play with matches and lighters. Most wouldn't call me overly fearful, it's simply prudent not to. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also if you think about it, NCsoft will be making more money overall. Some people may permanently deactivate their Alt accounts once transfering but others may just want to swap a character or two.
At the same time if someone has 3 characters they transfer before deactivating their Alt account thats more money they would have recieved from that Customer than if they never implemented an Account Transfer system.
[/ QUOTE ]
And here's the other reason it'll never happen. A lot of people bought second and third accounts to open up slots on their main server. Now that we can have more slots, the devs would *lose* a constant revenue stream by letting people consolidate accounts.
Yes, I know the argument is coming that you/someone you know/people in general can't afford a second account right now. Well, economies and finances are funny things. They go up and they go down. Sure, now someone might have to tighten the belt and lose the second account. But later, when things aren't so dire, they might open it back up again. If they've transferred everything off the old account and closed it down, you've now removed really any incentive to reopen that account. $20 today, vs several months at $14.99 - no brainer really. -
I would.
Sincerely doubt it would happen, as stated before these are typically offers to get quick cash to cover start up costs. But if they offered it I'd do it. -
People will angst anyway? They'll find reasons to angst no matter what.

and i think steps like level limiting some parts of the game is needed.
In Game E-Mail: i suggest an increase of the number of accounts you can add to your block list, i know am not the only one who gets e-mail spam and i hate it just like anyone else would, but my block list full of nothing but people who send me stuff, so i suggest we increase the number of names you can add to your block list
[/ QUOTE ]
I would rather other suggestions to this. Increasing the number you can have on the list is simply prolonging the inevitable. I'd like to either see a separate list for people ignored with /ignorespammer or the email spam button from your regular ignore list, or the ability to limit who you can receive emails from. -
[ QUOTE ]
in this post i will try to explain my two suggestions on level limiting and E-Mail Block, it is my first post on the forums and hopefully i don't screw things up to much
Level Limiting: i believe there should be level limits on Grandville & Pergrine Island, the reason i suggest this is that doing so will create more teams for lower levels and higher levels. i been playing the game for almost 18 months now and i personally hate standing in one area looking for a team or trying to create one when everyone around my level is in PI or Grandville asking to be farmed, i know i can play the game alone but this is a MMORPG i would like a to play alone side other heros/villians, i just think the farm thing has gotten a little to out of control (in MY opinion) (will continue to next post)
[/ QUOTE ]
No.
This has been suggested a great many times, so I'll try not to be snarky about my answer, but no promises. Fact of the matter is, the *BEST*, hands down, feature of this game is the sidekick/exemplar system. It's the one feature that has spoiled me for pretty much any other MMO. Limits on that is BAD. If a friend has a level 30 defender, and my tanker is having issues with an EB or a AV in PI, I should be able to SK him into my mission. Period. If that ability lets people farm and exploit the SK system, then so be it. It's a small price to pay for the most awesome feature that the gaming world has seen in a long time. -
I think it's a graphics option. I turned it off a while ago.

This is the one my boss uses on her laptop and she is very happy with it.
Me, I get by with the touchpad, or if Im doing a lot I have a full sized cordless mouse I take. I cant adjust to the smaller ones.

I tried using that one and my wrist instantly cramped up. Not good for the tendonitis. I got a full sized one with a cord that retracts into the body when I was using my laptop full time for school. -

Considering there's two little girl gamerz on their way in the next 6 months in my SG alone, you betcha.

Jeez, LM, now you're making me want to come up with a creative nickname for my little one so she'll fit in with our SG babycrew.

Baby Elf doesn't work for you?
Quickening's is going to be hard - her hubby also games and goes by Mindlock. BabyMind? Quickbaby? *shrugs*
[/ QUOTE ]
*sigh* I have been thinking about this. We don't have a cool ready-made baby handle for when our little girl is born. Maybe we should hold a contest
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, girl? Pardon the stereotyping, but how about BabyLock?
Also, Quickling.
[/ QUOTE ]
Quickling would be confusing. Quickening and I are SGmates, and my hubby's handle was Quickling. Believe me, that's confusing enough!
Another SGmate suggested "the QuickLock Kid" -
