Hmmm that's two different styles... (both books are on my wish list too) one overly simplified and more of a loose feel like these DA Artists:
American Ninja X
Atombasher
Cheeks 74
Dekarogue
Dusty Abell
Nuno Plati
And of course Funk Yeti and Marcio Takara!
The other style is a cross between anime and american comics called Fusion. Not sure if anyone teaches it other than Chris Hart's books, which are very good...
My suggestion would be to study what you like about these artists and try to apply it to your own stuff, in either case since you haven't drawn since high school, you'll need to practice A LOT in order to get your brain to process looking at things differently than before. That IS how the mind works, if you haven't drawn since you were 6, you will still draw like a 6 year old, it's literally like remembering lyrics you forgot.
So you have a lot of studying to do, good luck in either case!

... see you would fit in perfectly, cause Alex is in the SG... there's also a corresponding alt SG, called the Revisionaries, and a villain group called the Dark Envisionaries... you must come join. Alex plays in the late crowd since he's on California time... but a lot of us play from 9-11pm nightly...

Aww too bad a lot of us forum artist/collector types are in an SG called the Envisionaries, on Liberty... btw who did the group shot?

Just bought that at Futureshop.ca, well the wife did, I gave her my six year old Graphire 2, which she is forcing herself to use. She does vector art, so the mouse is more of her thing. I love this new one though, it has a nice hard plexi glass or plastic glass cover over the tablet, which feels way smoother/better than the old G2.
While I would love one of those awesome Intuos or hey let's dream and get a Cintique... this Graphire 4 hits the spot, all the work in my current gallery was done with it.

yeah I'm nothing if not inconsistent lolol... glad you like her!

This is Cleric Will Prescott's villain, "Will Snakespeare", my last commission of my first ever Queue of 10 from 2 months ago. Took a while to finish him, but happy to say that list is done! Now on to the New Queue...
