Quote:Well first I am a he, second I am a tank keeping aggro is what i like to doI use EA to top off my endurance when needed and to hit the incarnate def cap (59%), and I can do that with a minimal slotting of defense.
As far as "attack chains" go I'm not really much help. I tend to pick all the AOE powers, and enough ST that I always have something to hit... I like hitting buttons.I know how to play a tank and position myself well, but I like having options for attacks and never really settle into a pattern.
LSK may be 'missing' about 15% damage, but s/he is also picking up 9% in bonuses so I think they are pretty comparable. The only thing in LSKs build (IMHO) that looks underwhelming in the dmg department is icicles. However, his/her play style may be more geared toward keeping agro and doing damage as a secondary attribute.
My best advise to play around with both of our builds but don't stray from the plays tyle that makes *you* happy..
To the OP every one has there play style and not 2 are a like. When I was first building my FA/Fire tank I looked at every build that was put up some of which was nice and took what suits my play style. What I am saying as well as Kindrad is compare the builds at pick which will be best for your play style. He/she might be a solo player, or farmer, while I am more team player. -
As most of you know about the shooting that had happened here in Colorado at the midnight running of the new bat man movie. I have yet found out if any of the people there I knew since I know some people who was talking bout going to it. I also know others who might of been there. I would of been there if it wasn't for the issue of money since my hours has been cut for the past month and a half at work. But even though I want folks here to pray for the families and friends of those that was either injured or killed in this tragedy.

I would not know per say as I have not teamed up with Kinrad, plus I just got mine to lvl 27. As for EA it dose come in quite handy when u have to deal with mobs that drain your end or in ITrials that negate your rec. I have a lvl 50 Ice/TW tank that was on a mag that I had to use it a few times when my rec went into the red.

To get a better grasp I learn that some times if I look at different builds I can get a better understanding of a build here is what I am useing for mine. I am not saying mine is better just a different play style, Yes I use boxing, and Yes I use taunt, we both have hibernate as a mule.

Fist off get rid of the KB prot in your fly switch it out with the winters gift slow res, you all ready have enough KB prot with your indom will. If u need more then 10 KB prot then the extra 4 wont help. Second switch maneuvers out with CJ for 2 reasons 1 gives u more def, 2 it cost u less end to have it toggled. Your end use with just your toggles on is high and when u also start to calculate in your attacks you will be sucking down blues in no time flat. Take fast healing alot sooner then you did if you plan on exempting down. I would also recommend takeing out 1 slot from tuff and putting it in high pain tolerance and switch out the titanum coating with RA you wont be missing the extra HP since u have it covered in your KC in incinerate since you was over the rule of 5 for your HP for that bonus. There is a few things I would change like switching out the purples since I am not a big fan of the purple sets much and add some extra slots to taunt to help with the def but here is a build i did takeing yours and doing some of the changes I recommended.

Quote:U leave Planet J's build alone he likes those expensive IOs (Now planet J give me that 2 bil influ u promised meI tinkered with planet J's build a bit, trimming out some of the more expensive stuff, and building around cardiac rather than agility. I'm not happy with the accuracy in titan sweep, and even less in CoF, but them's the breaks. I ended up with similar numbers, though you'll have a bit less recharge due to the different alpha and a bit better end sustainability thanks to 60-100% end redux in each power (courtesy of cardiac), and better resists. Just another point of view.

Quote:I have soloed many AVs at a +4x8 on a few of my tanks with different power sets 1 of which was FA/Fire, and the other WP/SS this was befor the incarnates came out, as well on my SD/BA tank. The slowest of them was my Stone/Stone by far, Kin melee has some good ST attacks as well.I won't agree with this completely. Playstyle and build go a long way, but the biggest concerns for soloing an AV are Surviving and DPS. Most primaries will be fine, especially on IOs for surviving. Its the DPS that isn't always doable for secondaries.
Best odds for an AV soloer: Shield/DM. Great single target DPS and lots of buffage. The key would be making sure you have fodder for your damage buffs, and not killing those extra mobs while you try to kill the AV.
Fire Melee is mostly AoE with moderate single target. I'm not sure the DPS will be want you want for killing an AV. SS might be able to do it, but I've never tried with it so I can't say. -
There is really no best secondary to fight AVs it is more on how you build it and your play style. There will be lot of different opinions on the person's favorite as for the best secondary powers.

Quote:Hey i didnt had my coffee yet I just woke up and was getting ready for workI think the word LSK meant to use was "Typed" defense, not "Targeted" defense...
Examples of "Typed" (Also referred to as Damage Type/Delivery); Smashing, Lethal, Fire, and Cold are just a few examples of the "Type" of Damage delivery you can defend against. This is different then "Positional" (Also known as Vector Delivery). Vectors are Melee, Ranged, and AoE. These are the three Positional attacks that you can defend against. -
Quote:to go along on this there is 2 types of def 1 targeted which some go for on there builds and then there is positional. Most builds go for targeted since it is easier to get on certain ones, while they go for positional for the same reason. Ice goes better on targeted, where u want to get your s/l/neg/en close to sc since that is the ones most enemy's have as damage. If you have both targeted and positional sc it will go for the higher numbers on calculating your def. EI if you have your s/l to 45% and melee at 39% it will take the s/l over the melee. There is a Defense cap, but realistically you don't need to worry about reaching it in the same way as you might want to reach the Resistance cap. You'll see players talking about 'hard cap' and 'soft cap'. Soft cap refers specifically to Defense (usually) and refers to the fact that the game has a minimum chance to hit for NPCs - as a consequence, once your Defense reaches this level, any further Defense is ineffective except as a bulwark against debuffs.
For most content, the Defense softcap is 45% and that's generally what you should be aiming for. In Incarnate content the enemies have a higher tohit, which adjusts the numbers so that the Incarante softcap becomes 59%. When talking Defense, softcap calculations tend to be more practically useful. -
First on a tank or any other melee I would suggest boxing since kick has KB in it. Unlike blue I do not mind useing boxing my attack chains. There is a few tier 2s that can be replaced for boxing.

so is it a warboss plan? or a papaslade scheme? or a rangle plot? I am so confused, first warboss talks about the rangle plot, then papa started this thread, and rangle keeps plotting for what you might say? I think it might be for rad armor/melee

Best advise I can and most will agree on si try to get SOs as son as you can or if u can try to get some generic IOs crafted and put in since they do not decay as one says as fast as SOs or any other of the enhancements thats not a craft one. Also try to put some end red in your attacks and toggles no more then 3 should work, as well as some end mod in stamina but be advise that if u go over 3 of the same type in the same power IE 4 end mods in stamina then the 4th is just wasted.

Quote:Want to also say if or when you do join the channels mentioned make sure to let one of the mods know so they can unsilince you.First off, you want to /chanjoin "Justice United" and /chanjoin "Justice For All". Pretty much everything can be formed through there.
As far as times, there are two sorta peak times due to a lot of Aussies on Justice. One is around 8 or 9 pm eastern until midnight or so, earlier and later on weekends, and the othe block is from like 3 am until 7 or 8 am eastern. (I think I have those right).
You will definitely find that DFBs are less popular here than Freedumb and ((Virtue)). Hope that helps, oh... and:
Welcome to Justice!! -
