Ok... I give up. I realize I didn't win, but you think you guys could tell me who *did* win?
-
I agree with Indy. If'n any of you live around the chicago area, you'll kindly remind everyone that the drive between say... Northwest Indiana to downtown Chicago (approx 20-30 miles, includes most of I80, I90, I94, and even most of the upper I65 interchange lately) is now approximately the same amount of time it'd take someone to bike from New York to Austin, TX. The main thoroughfares are totally hosed, with plenty of single-lane, flagger-manned expressway action. Seriously. And yes, with it being construction season, all the spillover screws up everything else, from jams at lights that can't handle the throughput to madcrazy parking fees because everywhere else is tore up with construction bits)
However, I like Indy, and not just because I live in Indiana. Every convention/event/whatever (business or pleasure) I've been to in Indy has been above and beyond just about anywhere else I've been, even against places like Orlando (all tourist-ed out), Atlanta (terrible venues), LA (smog.... and creepy california people).
Although i'd be interested in one if it was in Austin (Hello?! The only reason why Texas is allowed to exist!), San Francisco, or Boston. (all nice-ish places that had events/conventions/company thingies that didn't suck).
So, sounds like we're having it in Indy! -
I, too, would very much like to see some more info on all this. 300 seems like so many, but I feel like I've gone through every single comic (CoX or not) twice already.
And I second the motion for a sorta-not-quite knockout list (a la American Idol, and similar contests) where they can at least tell us "Hey, these are the top 10 (20? 50?) we've narrowed down to the semi finals".
The anxious wait is agonizing and such. -
Heh.... Thanks for posting. I dig the comic, and practically forgot about hypercomics lately. I've really enjoyed a lot of the comics I've found on there relating to this contest, but I have to say that I'm at least a little bit less interested due to the fact that my freebie trial has now gone kaput. Makes me hope I win just so I can get a free copy of the software instead of waiting for the next paycheck.
Now if we could only get a hint from the devs/rednames/judges as to who's won (or about to win)...
Call me a crazy American, but I guess all these reality game shows have me expecting some sort of 'Final Round' where the field has been narrowed to 8 or something, and they're paraded around for a bit until the true winner(s) are finally revealed on the season finale. -
Ha ha! Naughty mime!
Err... Nevermind... Nobody here would get that joke.
Great job! -
Six.... slot.... CJ???
*head asplodes*
Granted, it's heavy twinking, but one of the main things I like about inventions is that they can add so much frickin utility to a build, you can tweak (not twink) your build to be much more suitable to your playstyle, or (more importantly, imho) get a character to play more how you envisioned them. -
Not that I'm trying to drag this out further, but I originally took your comment (it's 2007, not 1982) to mean something more along the lines of "Aids is soooo old. Why not Ebola Man or SARS Man, or Hemmoraging Fish Virus Man?, etc".
I guess now that you mention it, it can very well be taken offensively. Sorry for not realizing it as such. I personally took it as him merely having writers block and not having any idea what kind of 'nickname' his villain should have... similar to Spidey's many quippy monnikers.
Sorry! -
Bah... figures... I'm running low on new comics to read (however brief) and I find out half the contestants got borked over by the software.
*shakes fist at crappy software*
Ya know... contest or not... You could still try to post it for us comic-starved types.... -
Those are freaking AWESOME!
How do you such clean shots of the characters? Every time I try it, it comes out like booty, because I either cut too much off the character, or the character gets a 'bleedthrough' of the background. -
Wow... that's really awesome.
Then again, I just realized you were the guy who did my beta Serra Angel twins. Sooooo.... mark me as fanboy. -
I commented/rated yours, D. I think he got stuck on the same part I did, as mentioned in the comment. No biggie though, as it's still pretty nice. Good job, and good luck!
-
Whoops, I meant to say "All the glaring font bugs showing up in EVERY comic in their flash reader"
Sorry if anyone took offense... ^^;; -
Don't worry Attache... I dug your comic. With all the GLARING font bugs (legibility, clipping, etc) I'm thinking they might not even worry too much about it.
Good luck! You have a great story! -
Oh yeah... I totally forgot about that. RANDOM CRASHES.
If I had either GiMP or CoX open while CBC was open (you know, to make sure my shots/edits fit the panels right), it would just randomly crash. And twice I had problems with the saved versions (one came up with no text, the second glitch gave me 23 pages with random repeats of my pages, with totally WRONG pics)
I blamed my PC for that (you know... stupid me for having a bunch of resource-hungry apps open simultaneously) , but after hearing some of this, I wonder if it's not somehow CBC's fault. =/ -
Not that I'm knocking anyone, but (thankfully) I got hyper/nervous/anxious on monday, and tried uploading some 'test' stuff.
Yeah, my stuff was broked.
Then, I worked a bunch.
Then it was coming up on thursday, and I honestly thought it was due midnight that night. So, I just barely got it done at like 10 that night.
That all being said (and I'm not rubbing it in or anything, honestly), there were still a few minor errors/issues (my comic cover is the 'original' non-backed up one without the UPC, fer instance, and I was afraid to update it for fear I'd break it) actually making sure it ended up on the site. I just hope it works.
I don't know if they'll give us some leeway due to issues (they might balk and say 'We gave you a whole month, tough!) but I'd at least like to know if they could actually see it. Again, I was nervous, and I didn't save a copy of my email... so don't know right now if I sent Cryptic the link as 'my comic book 4295' (or whatever) or as notahero.
It's enough to give one an ulcer/stroke/mental breakdown, I tell ya!
Perhaps we get some redname action to yea/nay the bonus time? -
Johnny Rapid is *quite* funny. I digs it!
-
Someone has broke teh HYPAHCOMIKCS!
(I think I refreshed one too many times.)
-
Heh... I seem to like many of the ones posted here where people are like "ugh, this sucks but I made it anyway". Guess we're all our own harshest critics?
Great job everyone! -
Xyz's is borrrrrrrrrring.... not enough nightelves.
heh.. just kidding. great humor in that one. -
And yeah, I've been doing the F5 shuffle on the gallery board, but it seems like I time out more often than not. Perhaps HyperComix can't handle the strain of all us heroes and villains spamming the gallery page with refreshes?
-
W00t! Thanks Nuclear... I dug it!
I even gave it a comment, although the rating system isn't letting me do anything =/. -
Fuerte demands MOAR COMIX!
Post links of your comic, or your current favs! Comment/critique ones you like/don't like on Hypercomix! Rate those comics!
C'mon people! *shakes fist*
