  1. the main hurdle seems to be UI related

What I don't get is why cant they do the UI the same way the do character select and let you "side scroll" to each power pool to customize. That way you only have one or two powersets at a time on the screen.

It seems alot easier to manage than tons of collapsible lists.
  2. Well I figured out how to revert to the old title screen music on my own but beyond that I'm stumped ty though for at least letting me know its possible!
  3. thanks for the reply... maybe if someone sees this who knows the proper folders wants to pm that would be nice ^_^
  4. Is there any way to change the title screen music/character creation music/zone music back to what they were before freedom?

Also is it possible to change the music in specific zones to something else? Like having a favorite club tune play in Pocket D as opposed to the standard game music?
  5. I posted in the bug forum and PM'd synapse just to be sure this issue isn't overlooked. Hopefully we'll see it added to the "known issues" list or even better... fixed.
  6. As noted in this topic from the tanker forums

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=284879

The proc from this ATO set is not working properly. Since all tanker attacks have an aoe taunt associated with them due to the Gauntlet inherent, the proc rate for the ATO unique is firing as if the attack it is slotted in is an aoe even if it is a single target attack.

The Astral unlocks will be easy since the rng seems to favor those from the merit reward option... but yea the empyrean unlocks will be a long time coming... and using emps for that will slow down your incarnate progress since it takes 8 emps for a rare component and 30 emps for a very rare and the once a day reward tables are sticking to the rarity designations (rare is very rare and very rare is virtually unseen)
  8. My thoughts:
    • IXP gains are acceptable.
    • Drop rates from mobs seems ok enough... could be a bit better but its not excruciatingly low like shards.
    • Daily rewards from the ouro run arcs are fine imo.
    • The repeatable mission thread rewards is... stingy.

Two threads once a day with ONE thread every time thereafter for a 20 hour period? really? Honestly I'd have found it more palatable if the first time thread reward was 5 and subsequent missions awarded 2 to 3.

Outside of that I am not displeased with the overall pace of advancement. It could use a little beefing up on the thread end of things I think... Trying to break into tier 3 on an incarnate ability is basically at the mercy of the once a day RNG on the component table and tier 4 is probably a pipe dream unless you have some serious luck with a component drop but thats not all that different from the first trials. That said I wouldn't mind seeing the thread reward for the repeatable missions increased. Nor would I mind seeing the "lesser" thread reward from our arcs increased from 2 to 5.

All in all its a bit slower than I hoped for but better than what the doom and gloom crowd tried to make it out to be as far as I am concerned.

yup i redesigned my tp room because of the new porters... its more compact and I have room for the CoP porter as well now while still having all the port locations all in one room

I actually tried stacking the hacked porters inside the raid porter and while it looked good I wasn't keen on how I had to place the beacons so I scrapped that idea... others might like it though.

That was my thinking as well. I was torn between a controller and a dominator and ultimately decided on the controller. Then I realized that the patron pets are permable and while I wont have a single target attack from the pool, the pet would give me a permanent and continuous damage source as well as another pet to provide diversion from me. Looking at the numbers from city of data... the patron pet attacks are pretty decent too... especially when enhanced for damage to the ED cap.

recharge time is 900 seconds... duration is 240 seconds... the max you could reduce the recharge time to on the summon is 180 seconds... therefore you can make it perma... with a hell of a lot of recharge

EDIT: with 170%-ish global recharge + ED capped recharge enhancement in the summon + Hasten +Tier 1 Spiritual Alpha = perma hasten & perma summon

20% more global recharge (which is doable) could have them both perma without the alpha
  13. I'm planning dark/dark/soul with enough recharge for perma haunt and perma Summon Seer. I figure with all the neat lil pets flitting about I should have some decent damage output and enough support to keep em healthy.

    I can and do

The point of this suggestion is that I shouldn't have to.

It's far and away very tedious to manage all these different timers on different characters.

This is a quality of life suggestion. It simplifies things for everyone.
  15. While this isn't a "new" request, I wanted to get this down in a concise manner in the suggestion forum.

Timers for rewards should not be on a per character/per time basis. What I mean by that is there should be a set specific time rewards reset regardless of when you engaged in content. Juggling post its for every character... especially in such an alt centric game... is honestly a nightmare.

For example: Weekly rewards such as SSA's should reset every tuesday at say 8am PST. No matter when you engaged in the content the time and day would always be consistent for the reset.

Another example: Daily rewards such as those for Dark Astoria should reset every day at at say 3am PST. Having to watch and keep track of multiple timers is just silly.

It would just be much less hassle if there was a uniform lockout timer for each reward.
  16. So do we not get a freespec with a new issue anymore? Cause so far it seems I didn't get one with my characters... >.>

Anyway I'm not really looking for min/max or anything and not even really looking for build tweaks per se, just kind of fishing about for what generally meshes well with the power sets I've got.

As another note, I'm not really interested in side switching just to grab patron power pools, so my Heroes will stay heroic and my villains will stay villainous. anyhow, here's what I've got:

    Necromancy/Dark Miasma Mastermind Hero

    Dual Pistols/Traps Corruptor Hero

    Storm Summoning/Sonic Defender Hero

    Kinetic Melee/Superior Reflexes Scrapper Vigilante

    Ninja blade/Ninjitsu Stalker Hero

    Super Strength/Willpower Brute Villain

    VEAT Fortunata tract Villain

    Plant Control/Fire Assault Dominator Villain

    Electric Blast/Devices Blaster Rogue

    So, ya, thoughts, suggestions?
I tend to like to go thematic when I can but I sometimes make exceptions when the idea really works or I want a specific mechanic.

Necromancy/Dark Miasma Mastermind Hero - If I were staying with hero pools for this one I'd probably pick Chill Mastery since cold is often associated with the undead.

Dual Pistols/Traps Corruptor Hero - For this one i'd either go electricity mastery or power mastery. Elec gives you a nice hold and has some thematic resonance with tech type characters. Power is generally good as a default when you cant decide. It's especially nice since it gives you power build up for some strategic damage or +special boosting.

Storm Summoning/Sonic Defender Hero - Again I'd go with elec or power. Both seem to work thematically and both have useful tools to choose from.

Kinetic Melee/Superior Reflexes Scrapper Vigilante - I dunno here... Body mastery is always my "go to" when I can't find something I like thematically for scrappers.

Ninja blade/Ninjitsu Stalker Hero - Hands down weapon mastery It gives you some thematic coolness like shuriken and exploding shuriken and some nice passive buffage with physical perfection which you get to take as the first choice.

Super Strength/Willpower Brute Villain - Most people like the soul mastery PPP for brutes cause of gloom but I personally would prob go with energy mastery for thematic consistency though mace mastery might not be so bad if you want to incorporate some "mace play" into your character concept.

VEAT Fortunata tract Villain - Honestly? As a veat you don't even need to take a PPP. You have a huge selection of abilities to choose from in your primary and secondary. Add to that all the supplemental options from regular pools and I can't honestly see anything "vital" or thematically appropriate outside of maybe Soul Mastery (I always seem to associate the widows with Ghost Widow).

Plant Control/Fire Assault Dominator Villain - with a mix like plant/fire I might go with Ice mastery and not because sleet but because thematically you could go for the "elemental" type character mixing plant fire and ice. Not that plant is actually an elemental type but it gives you a broad spectrum "natural forces manipulator" kind of vibe. Alternative you could go with fire and have a kind of "solar power manipulator" theme where you use that power to enhance plant life to control. I used a theme like that with a plant/thermal controller.

Electric Blast/Devices Blaster Rogue - It depends on the origin here for me. If you're something like mutation where the blasts are generated naturally as opposed to say tech where they come from some super powered armor, then I'd prob go with elec. It has some great tools to improve a blaster's survival and works thematically. For a tech based "super armor" kind of character I'd be torn between elec or munitions. both have some great mez options and munitions has an aoe snipe!

Thats what it seems like. It would be nice however if the Enhancement tooltips actually said that though. Cause what they typically say is "you can slot this in any <AT's name here> damage power" or "you can slot this into any <AT's name here> control power"

I consider APP's as much a part of any AT as their primary and secondary powersets and I hope somewhere down the road the devs might allow us to slot the AT Enhancements in them.
  19. I get my points on the first of the month and my token on my billing date (28th i think). It's been pretty consistent so far... yea it would be nice if it all happened on the same day but when all is said and done i havent been shortchanged on any given month.
  20. I dont have a lvl 50 blaster on the Test Server but I had a defender and tried respecing her.

I was not able to slot the AT set in any of the electricity mastery damage powers (electric fence, thunderstrike, shocking bolt)

Maybe the devs will open up those restrictions because technically speaking the enhancement states "may be slotted into any Defender damage power"...

I've heard that there's an issue with some Epic powers not taking ATOs - do you know if that affects Shocking Bolt?

Doesn't bother me. Just means I fire it first, so the DoT ticks while I follow through with other attacks.

That's Elec Manip. I'm Energy Manip.

    Definitely an option. Thanks.
Ah I am unsure if there's an issue preventing you from slotting it in Shocking Bolt thats a good thing to be sure of first... and sorry I missed the part of you being energy manip! But you could stack the empulse stun with total focus if you have it!

Good Luck! I hope you can slot the proc in Shocking Bolt! Let us know!

It would be a 50% chance in a 6 second power... It might not be too horrible in Voltaic Sentinel either.
Assuming you aren't married to the idea of a specific APP, you could use Electrical Mastery and thematically turn Shocking Bolt (the single target hold with damage and a 16 sec base recharge time) into part of your attack chain. Granted it's a dot, but it would guarantee the proc every time and have a decent dot attached with a second hold to stack with tesla. Basically you'd get more damage from it and have a variety of other tools from APP like charged armor (s/l/e resistance), static discharge (more aoe and this ones direct dmg and not dot), surge of power (oh crap button for survival) and em pulse (good for stacking with lightning clap for aoe stunning even bosses).

Just playing with mids and slotting Shocking Bolt creatively got me a 5.4 sec recharge time with hasten and some global recharge. Could prob go lower with more recharge/alpha slot modifiers. Mids says it would deal 63.71 dmg over 5 ticks before figuring in the proc's 107 damage. Thats better total damage than charged bolts and not too far behind lightning bolt.

Overall it gives you a solid ST attack for your attack chain, some survival tools and some pretty impressive (for a blaster) control stacking options. It's an option if you're willing to use that APP anyways.
  23. While others have stated how the EULA works (anything you make in game is "owned" by paragon studios) your character concept could easily be adapted as a unique and "owned by you" property.

"Mr. Awesome" in this case would probably go through a slight makeover... maybe he'll lose that vanguard chest emblem on his costume... and maybe that ascension belt design will have to be altered. He'll probably have the name of his home city changed from Paragon City to Manhattan New York or something. His mentor's name would change from Statesman or Sister Psyche to something new/unique. He might not have a power called "Knockout Blow" in fact none of his powers would probably be broken down and named like a video game does. He'd just be described as really strong and impervious to harm or maybe he's a psychic and he has telepathy and telekinesis which are standard super hero type powers that are open to use and interpretation.

Basically any details that are specific to the COH game would have to be changed. But such changes should keep the general concept of the character intact.
  24. Just to be clear you arent trying to cram both of those commands into one macro are you?

    .
Honestly if they got rid of the currently buyable "attuned" enhancements from the store and simply sold "Enhancement Attuners" at whatever the highest price they've ever charged for a rare enhancement, I'd probably buy them... and often.
