Has anyone installed the new 'hacked' porters?

Just for yucks I created one and installed it in one of my one-person bases last night.

I wasn't totally surprised when I could only attach one beacon to it instead of six as advertised--I'm guessing that's because they haven't changed the one-beacon limit on the 1x2 TP room. Annoying, but par for the course.

Since I won't be able to upgrade to a 2x2 room for a while, has anyone installed one and got it up an running? Does it have the same power and control requirements as a regular TP? Does it help small bases at all, or do you run into control limits trying to use six beacons on a combo unit?

Power and control on the hacked unit is the same at 50 and 25 respectively. Beacons are 5 control per, so total on a loaded hacked teleporter would be 50 power, and 55 control.

There have always been multiple limits on base items. Even before this issue, a teleporter wasn't able to be fully used because of that room limit. The fact that the developers created a new version doesn't mean the room limits were changed.

Well, I clearly didn't assume that at all, since the OP says 1) that I was unsurprised by the inability to attach more than one beacon, and 2) that it was undoubtedly due to the room limit.

I will admit to being mildly disappointed that they didn't remove the beacon limit from the 1x2 room since it would have been a nice bonus for small bases, but I don't think it was outrageous to a least wonder if that might have been done along with the addition of the new telepad.

Yes!!, 6 beacons for just one TP, now that is Epic.

I offer because you weren't asking. I love this game and the people I play with. I have been around a long time, though I have a bit of altis and only have 6 50's. I have a 1 man sg and it took me a long time to get the things I wanted. I spent a lot of inf to prestige because I didn't want to wait and it still took what seemed like forever. I will always help those who are committed to the hard work, even solo, as long as I can.

Yes..and immediately realized that combining three pads into one is cause for a TP room redesign. wOOt!

yup i redesigned my tp room because of the new porters... its more compact and I have room for the CoP porter as well now while still having all the port locations all in one room

I actually tried stacking the hacked porters inside the raid porter and while it looked good I wasn't keen on how I had to place the beacons so I scrapped that idea... others might like it though.

i had two transporter rooms at one time...i now have one room...six transporters with four beacons for five of them...and two beacons for number six...i did it that way just to fill out the room...they work fine "D
