Have not played my Stalker yet.. Figure I'll save his retrun for a rainy day..

In my absence everyone seems to have become extremely touchy over the use of arena chat.. So now it just sits dormant feeling sorry for itself.. Shame really..

I am also working on a new BS/Regen Scrapper, which is quite fun..

Hope too see you soon, either in PVP areas or out.

Some scrappers, mainly regen swear by tough.. If your strapped for powers which tbh completley amazes me.. Then thats the one I would take.. That or recall friend which can save a lot of time sometimes.

A stationary hero/villian is a dead hero/villian. Dont complain, while theyre talking its far easier to kill them..

Other than that report players who shout abuse out.. Though we all get frustrated at times..

Well thanks guys. My subs run out on the 15th I will try to get on just to say good bye to people in game.

Thanks to all of Defiant for all of the good times we had. Yeah Uzzi epic doesnt do em justice mate.

Will be back for I8 and the arrival of endgame. Cant wait for that.. Always wanted just to play Krunch that little bit more.

(This is not an I am quitting type post)

Yup many have guessed it I am gonna leave the game for a few issues then come back again. I know I7 is coming out soon but its not bringing much to CoH which is the game I feel I belong too. So I have decided to take some time out from the game.

Many thanks to those who have helped me, you know who you all are. Uzzi, Sally Storm, Rhinoxx and Emergency (CoV).

Thanks to the Devs/Mods/Staff for making a great set of games and helping/guiding me through my heroic (and sometimes villian like) adventures.

Also many thanks to my PvPing buddy's, TG, TYL to name just a few. We have had some fun times.

Not forgetting all teh Forumites. Great talking/argueing with you all.

This does however mean that my Regen guide is getting left. I will pick it up again when I come back.

CoH/V are great games, but after a year and a bit, I think I have pretty much been there and got the T-Shirt.

See you all in a few issues time.

I have had some of my best PvP in BB belive it or not. Seem to do some great moves in there.

I have to agree with Innigo. Though it sounds fun you will never be able to reach stalker standerds.

As for the other AT thing.. hmm..

A Blaster with /Eng with invis, the BU's that come with the sets and full defience, thats more like a stalker. Using snipe or some other high damage attack.

Hmm I think a big reason why people dislike the use of tp foe in pvp is because their is little defence against it.

Having to roll a particular powerset for protection from it is IMO not that fair.

Heck, people complain about stalkers and as. Atleast any AT can build against that. Yet a Devices blaster can set up mines, caltrops etc and use TP foe, pretty much an instant kill on most AT's and we cannot do anything about it.

Well in one way I am glad it was not just me who picked up on that.

Regarding the hugging AoE stratergy.

Your all totally right I cannot really complain much about it. But when it is done well and for a long length of time it can get massivly frustrating. Pretty much all day that tattic was used to great effect. It was more an under stress comment than a sinceire (Spelling that word is awfull) comment.

On an evening its normally great.

You get the same bunch of quality PvP players. TG, TYL etc.

But I am being put off by day time PvP...

So I had to post to make sure people didnt get the wrong idea of me....

I heard there was a gang war on or soemthing? Which would explain some of the below.

Sirens seemed a bit diffrent to me today. It was always busy with some new players which is great. But there was a bit of underlying agressiveness about the place. Now of course its a PvP zone so you know people die. But everyone just seemed to be taking it a bit too seriusly.

A few issues I have with both sides.

Tping/Bouncing/Hugging Mobs - For this really dampens the atmosphere and I saw a lot of it today. Intrestingly not by those I expect it from. Which would suggest it was simply a "New to PvP" type mistake. This soured broadcast a bit at times.

Ganking - Everyones term of ganking differs. But for me the entire 9 Players on 1 idea seems a little extreme. People again got a little annoyed about this, understandable.

Tatics - Have some variation! All these powers and everyone just uses the same ones... The amount of people that were hugging someone with an AoE was stupid.
This only served to put more fuel on the fire of "Teh Ganksters".

Kill Stealing - This seemed to happen a lot more too, probably because the zone was busy. But it seemed a "New to PvP" issue as a I pmed people about it and was greated with "Eh?".

After holding my tongue allday I did get a bit stressed towards the end. If I had any sense I would have left the zone, but the others were dormant so I stuck on.

I may have just been having a bad day, but I think things got a bit over competative.

I dunno anyone else have something to say?

Oh one more thing. You cannot say anything on broadcast now without being labbeled a whinger. Whats that all about?!

Six whats with the agressivness mate? Chill out a lil.

If you cant see a stalker with IR Goggles-The Leadership Pool-etc. I suggest you turn your monitor brightness up.

Hmm have read all of this thread, some very intresting discussion.

A few things stuck out for me.

1. Weasel comparing stalking to flipping a coin, I think this is a very good comparison. It fits us brilliantly.

2. We aint that hot in PvE folks, sorry to break it too you. I think we have the least fun out of every at in PvE. Endless glowie missions or stealthing to the boss to kill him? Not that fun to me.

3. We are not a defensive AT. Somone did say this. I must admit I had a chuckle at the comment. All CoV At's lack in defence when compared to CoH AT's.

4. I think its Quilty who brought up the Stalker running comment. I am sorry are you having a laugh? Would you honestly expect a Blaster to stay still if he doesnt kill you? Mate if we did that we would be wiped on the floor.

5. Now killing Stalkers is fun and easy. Al you need to do is see them and hit em, maybe try a slow or some -movement power. I hear many people screaming "But Stalkers have hide how can we see them?!11" Its not that difficult. Find a guy with the leadership pool, pop yellow inspirations, find a defender with CM, buy the temp power IR Goggles when the zone is yours, Roll SR, Stay near someone with a toggle PBAoE, I would continue my list but its so long I grow board.

6. Do more offensive/idiot type players play Stalkers?
I dont honestly think so. There is no reason or figures to back up such a claim. I think the Stalker AT gives more satisfaction than any other AT. Thus people are happy when thay make a challenging kill, hence in turn a victory call is made.

Just to further back up my above point.

A lot of good quality players play the Stalker AT.

I can think of a few, Ghostblade (known as MarquandDance on teh forums), Myself, Stalk-obot to name just a few.



A lot of comments here seem to be based only upon predjudice not actual fact.

Just before I leave I wish to reinforce a comment I made earlier.

So the stalker doesnt kill you and thus runs.

Um yeah and?

So stalkers have Hide I cant ever see them they are cowardly.

Um yeah and?

You can see em if you have an ounce of game knowledge.
(Not meant to be a flame comment, not aimed at anyone in particular.)

Sooooo many reasons.
I am pretty much addicted to it I think.

1. The "Rush" it gives.

2. The stratergy involved. You have to think about what your doing.

3. The pople you meet, even the bad ones. Imo PvP'ers have more character than any PvE'rs.

4. Were else do you find players like Greek, Tyl, Frazzle.d and Lui all with one common goal? It unites people.

5. Meeting and talking to the above people.

6. Its diffrent EVERYTIME.

7. I cry when the zone is empty...

8. All the above reasons.


Everyone should try it.
