For example - don't like how you feel after giving the victims to the Vahz? Create a quick mission in AE where, after receiving your money of course, you penetrate the Vahz lair and rescue the hostages. Heck, use the Dr. Vahz lair map and put the good doctor there so you can defeat him too... the whole operation was just your way of finding his lair. Or create a mission to go rescue the daughter of the traitor the mobster took into his care just so he could ruin her life. Or, not only did you not stop the broadcast, you help the reporter by destroying the Arachnos base jamming the broadcast, etc... the possibilities are endless.

It's all in how you approach the attitude and character (twisting what you did to another purpose in your head - you didn't really kill the victim you faked it). That plus a little imagination in AE goes a long way.
Hah, Angelo Vendetti - i actually forgot to mention that one in my post. Stone Cold indeed
I like that approach btw, a while ago i was actually running on an RPing PuG with my vigilante and we did the arc to deliver the victims to the Vahzilok.
As soon as the mission was complete my character excused himself from the group, so he could follow the tracking beacon he had secretly attached to one of the victims and rescue them - bringing down a Vahzilok hideout in the process
Never actually made it into an AE arc, but that's what happened in my mind!
  2. Since someone mentioned villainous MA arcs... this one should be to the liking of anyone who likes Phipps' arcs and such stuff: The Burning of Hearts Arc ID#2260
(And nope, not a creation of mine! Credit goes entirely to someone else!)
  3. I LOVE Redside! I think my level 50's Heroes to villains Ratio is 5-1 in favor of the villains
My overall characters ratio is probably 10-1, with my 3 char pages on Virtue being almost completely red >.>
Phippsy is one of the better villain contacts out there when it comes to being petty and cruel, Peter Temari's arc is sorta nasty too - especially if you see the results later in game when doing Von Grun's arcs.
I've seen the "inability" to play villains before though, i know several people who feel horrible if they were to run these arcs.
I understand the part that you're talking about in Dragon Age, when I passed through with my villainous Blood Mage the only reason the person survived is because I was getting something out of it (permanent power!) and even then my Mage IC would be planning for them to suffer an accident later because obviously in a few years from now they'd form a threat to his power.
My villains tend to be either selfish or mercenary (with a couple of misguided fools among them ), it's all about THEM and in some cases the people THEY care about - the rest be damned.

I know I had a bunch more, but of course, can't remember them at the moment.
That first one actually makes me doubt each time too! >.>
But at least i'm not talking about makeup each time i'm discussing everyone's favority sneaky class!
  5. Sadly i'm guessing this won't be happening until either the beta is well on it's way or there is another big gaming convention.
  6. Ah cool, welcome back! And goodluck starting those RP teams, I should do that again some time too, always nice to meet people outside of the VG circle.
  7. On the topic (since my other post was brief and rather random ):
I believe that some characters are the equals of the signatures yes, but not ALL should be - of my zillion alts there are very few who i would call as powerful as Recluse or Statesman in game (IC THEY however might disagree, damn egotrippers ).
Which characters are the equals is up to whoever plays them however, it's a personal pet peeve of mine to roll my eyes at EVERYONE being as powerful as the "legendary" heroes/villains.
I don't think everyone wants to be either, i suspect Agonus' characters will mostly be below that scale in power, Chaos Red's are most likely stronger or simply avoid them because they are the main character in their stories.
  8. Ah ok cool, so it would give everyone stamina when it hits? Or only me?
  9. Hey folks, i'm wondering if the above makes a good combination.
And how does it work with the proc? Does it have a chance to trigger on all healed allies separately? Or is it checked only while hitting the opponent?
  10. Hah, i was just playing Scirocco's patron arc and the ending made me think of this thread

    Quote:
And that wraps up that. Scirocco's plan has been defeated, and I believe that this resounding defeat at your hands may have finally broken the more rebellious aspects of his spirit. You stopped the ritual before Ghost Widow could be returned to life, which my Lord Recluse judges to be a good thing. As a ghost, her loyalty is guaranteed, far more than were she mortal again. We have top experts hard at work undoing the damage done to Ice Mistral's mind. She should be her old self again soon. And while it is unfortunate that the Malleus Mundi appears to have removed itself from this plane of existence, my Lord Recluse feels that it may be for the best. No blame falls on you, Damian Warlock. Quite the opposite, in fact. You have done excellent work. My Lord Recluse has judged the case, and come to a decision. Scirocco will not suffer a demotion or imprisonment, as my Lord is impressed that he got so far into his plan. Instead, Lord Recluse has made a change. Technically, Scirocco will no longer be your Patron. From this point forward, you may consider him your equal. You have finally reached the pinnacle we had hoped, and are ready for the part you were prophesied to play in Operation: Destiny. Be ready, for Arachnos will call on you and your power soon.
  11. LOL! That was so awesome! I loved the emotes you matched with the lyrics

    Breakneck Lives!

Did that duoing with a buddy, mine an Ill/Sonic Controller and his a DM/Will Scrapper.
We managed to smoke all those Ouro TFs
  13. Basically yeah, the Villains are screwed merits wise JJ.
The time spent on them looks to be a fairly weak excuse to me, lets take the Positron or Synapse TF's for example, a good team takes how long to finish these, 2 or 3 hours? For a 50-60-ish merits reward? (can't be bothered to look up the exact number )
Now compare that to the Cap SF that's worth 12 merits (13 since i16?), which probably can be run in an hour with a decent team (yes, speedrunners probably do it in half an hour or less, but they probably do the other two faster than 2 or 3 hours as well).
Even if you were to run it six times in the same time it takes one Posi/Synapse you wouldn't have the same amount of merits thanks to the diminishing returns (and even without them, barely), although i doubt it could be run six times in the timeframe it takes to do one Posi.
Story arcs are much better designed redside though, and filler missions from contacts aren't nearly as common as they are on Blue.
TF wise the only ones with a decent reward that villainside gets are the ones they have to share with the heroes
But ah well, on with the show /rant

    Ideas for events

That's a pretty cool idea Metroid
  15. You can probably still get that, there's just a lack of people starting them
  16. Also congratulations on winning that code!

Yep, quite a few VGs that do that.
    I LOVE MA!

Started off similiar for me too. I mostly played on Infinity, but had a few characters on Virtue since a few friends played here. Then I started spending more time around the good people of Virtue, learning thier ways. I spent hours on costumes, character concepts, backstories, and even dabbled in RP. No big deal, right? That's what they all say...

Pretty soon you're hooked. You could play on other servers, but let's face it, they're just not virtue.
This man gives out good advice. *nods sagely*
  19. When i first migrated to Virtue (October 2008-ish) i spent some time looking through VV as well, and just as i had decided on an RP VG i came across another post here on the forums and went with that one instead - which i'm still part of today.
Activity tends to go up and down, there is a coregroup that runs it made up of people that have been around for as long as the game has and several close to it.
I generally don't advertise but here's the link to the website anyway http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.asp...7&TabID=462067 (or alternately www.sinenterprises.com it has music! )
Pocket D serves well in the function it was designed for; it's a nightclub - though occasionally you come across more serious RP as well and meet people you like. (It's very much a hit and miss thing, when i was new to the server i didn't like it. Then after a return visit to the D a good half year later i started to have fun there. Though i'm still not a regular by a longshot.)

This reminds me that i haven't seen a "lol@RP" post from EverStryke in a while... O.o

The majority keep it in teamchat, so if you see two characters somewhere being suspiciously quiet... get that mind in the gutter!
Which gives rise to stories of horrible MTs! Heard a couple of... interesting ones!
Still, i only head to the D when utterly bored - so i could be wrong!

    Yep, you get those everywhere.
So far i haven't run into that exact situation on CoX yet though, then again i don't hang out in Pocket D much (usually when i don't feel like grinding and no VG or global buddies are around).
Sorry to hear that happened to you though Irnee, don't let it get you down!
