Official Roleplay Server?

I've been thinking about jumping back into a City of Heroes and was wondering, what would you say the official rp server is? I remember a year or so ago that it was Virtue. Has that changed?

It's still Virtue, but just to let you know, the amount roleplaying on random teams has significantly dropped over the year. If you really want a lot of roleplaying, you're going to have to find a supergroup.

Ouch. That kinda makes me sad. I remember back when I was playing I'd just send out a shout to start a RP only team and I'd get 5 or 6 reply's really quick.

You can probably still get that, there's just a lack of people starting them

Incredibly, I was on an RP PUG just last night and had a ton of fun! So I have to change my earlier message. It's NOT impossible to find a group of RPers!

Virtue is the roleplaying hub, but its been dying, due to nonrp...people being complete twats on Virtue. I won't say names, but hey, ran into a guy who tried to say 'OHP AVOID ROLEPLAYERS THEY BAD'.

Yeah, unfortanately some people see roleplaying as something only the mental ill do.

And of course, those same people spend their time in an Online Role Playing Game.

If people don't approve of Role Playing, maybe they should go play a RTS game instead of an MMORPG? Just common sense here.

And about the lack of rp teams. It seems I have to go and change that!

So I've read that Virtue is the unofficial RP server but I know it happens on other servers as well. Most of my characters are on Infinity and I know there is a dedicated chat channel for roleplaying on Infinity. I've joined it even.

But to be honest, I only do I kind of half-hearted RP with in-game chat. I say that a long time table top roleplaying gamer and as someone who has written many character moves in two threads in this section of the boards. The reason for me, and this is really odd coming from a long time Internet user, is that chat between multiple people has always been very confusing to me. Chat kinda sucks actually. I mean I use it because I have to but when using the keyboard to lay down justice on the bad guys in the game I just can't chat much, nor can I keep up with others that are RP'ing as our team fights something.

So despite having detailed background stories for most of my characters, I really do the roleplaying of those characters out here on these boards as written moves.

No problem. I can understand that too. I'm an avid table top rper (sadly put on hold for the lack of fun groups at my College) and got into roleplaying online before I ever got to Dungeons and Dragons. I didn't get into board rping much.

I liked to roleplay in the game because...not entirely sure. I did enjoy getting teams together and having it be successful and stuff. Oh and the messages that compared me to hitler because I made rp only teams were fun to read.

I guess it just was my style. I can understand board rp though.

Oh and to selfishly advertise my own ideas, I'm probally getting back on to City of Heroes today for the first time for along time so I was wondering if anyone is interested in my other post.
