  1. I still need to shuffle a few alts around too... :'(
Especially after the news that Going Rogue won't increase the 36 Characters/Server cap. :/

    Same here, DP/Psi.
And I agree with you Techbot!

It generally brings the nerf bat down on the TF.
Though I don't think Positron's has much too worry about that, the combined merit reward for part 1 & 2 is 26 merits IIRC.
And speedrunning it would still take far longer than a speed ITF.
  4. LOL! Thanks for that.
Reminds me of those cartoons where the hero gets all smug when he thinks the enemies are fleeing away from him... until he turns around and sees the hulking monstrosity standing behind him!
  5. I loved the groups of CoT that came out to "greet" us at City Hall, felt like we really had to fight our way inside.
And I agree, the flow of the storylines is nice - I was quite pleasantly surprised when I heard them refer to "the Princess".
I can only hope that all the new TFs will be this great (including new Redside ones, please Devs? Pretty please?).

    He most definitely does!
The whole plot also reminded me why my heroes consider the good Doctor such a menace. (Misguided, insane welldoer, mad scientists ftw!)

A shame for sure, it'd make a good zone to teach those villains about Hamidon and the DE... and all those abandoned labs are just begging to be explored... :/

    How about the Abyss?
  10. There's probably a few threads about this already, but a good thing deserves repeating right? (and I'm lazy)
Kudos on what you've done with the new Posi TF(s) Devs! The new maps are awesome (and the old maps decorated with new stuff) and the final fight against Dr. Vahzilok was EPIC! (seeing the hordes of suicide bomber zombies descent upon us both mortified and thrilled me :P not to mention a final battle on a high and narrow ledge? Can't go wrong there!)
  11. I always figured it was an American "thing". I've seen the donut on tv shows, and I -think- one (or several) of the GTA games has it too.
  12. 24 Pages and still going strong! Marcian hit gold with this thread!
Even if it got de-railed a good 20 pages ago and the topic hasn't changed since then.
  13. Name: Sin Enterprises

    Currently Recruiting: Yes.

RP Level: RP-Heavy (( VG chat is IC, as are all the other chats except for things between parentheses or in the OOC global chat channel))

PvP Level: Casual, everyone's free to engage in it as much as they like.

Theme/Concept: Much like Umbrella Corp. from the popular Resident Evil series of video games and movies and Crey Industries within our very own Paragon City, Sin Enterprises is not without ulterior motives. While the aims of this organization may ultimately be well-intentioned, the means by which they are achieved is not. Sin Enterprises is run by ruthless twin sisters who despise corrupt government meddling, the petty gangs that would subjugate and trample entire neighborhoods and the ignorant Freedom Corps with their blindly faithful heroes. The Sin sisters suffer no guilt releasing a security detail to sweep the streets, "cleaning" it of social garbage.

Powered employees* are widely used to spread word among the gangs and various power groups that Sin Enterprises means business and to discourage any interference. Additionally, powered teams may be dispatched to demand restitution for such interference in business activities. More experienced teams are given additional instructions to "make an example" of any nuisances. These examples are expected to be violent, fast, and leave no direct connection to Sin Enterprises while leaving no doubt to any who knew the victims.

    * All the player characters start as Powered Security.

Activity: Activity tends to vary, peak times are usually past 6 PM EST, though we have a several European members as well (mostly in the GMT +1 timezone).

Requirements for Membership: By application on the forums' Reception section.
    There is no level restriction.

    Leadership: Angela & Kira Sin

    In-Game Contact(s): @Laughing Wolf, @Knightslayer, @Paxicon, @Melkhor, @Mrr'Shaw, @Conquerer Worm, @Onca (currently limited on in-game time), @Nitro-Girl (currently limited on in-game time)

Out-of-Game Contact(s): Feel free to send me a PM, or just contact one of the officers on the Sin Enterprises forums.

    URL: www.sinenterprises.com

Other Details: We have a weekly AE RP event on fridays at 9 PM EST, though the slot might sometimes be used for an SF or RP event instead (but something will always be going on!)
Other than that the events tend to be spontaneous.

  14. As bad as I feel about it, the majority of my villains will kill their clone :/
Letting (her)him go free presents a very real future threat, not to mention the stuff s/he'd do could come back to bite THEM in the ***.
And yeah, I usually high five D-Man, unless I'm playing a really stuck up villain.

Hmm, actually I find the CoV storylines pretty similar to early life in most GTA titles, the period where you work your way up (and even learn where to get weapons ), of course in GTA you eventually take over and become the baddest **** on the block (which makes perfect sense in a single player game).

But, no I will not cancel my EU account and start over (even though I sometimes would want to create chars on Virtue). I got too much invested in my chars on Union for me to jump ship...
I do know of a few people from my sg and a few others that have dropped EU and joined the NA servers. (I really dislike the segregation and the continued support of the flawed system of seperate server lists)
No kidding... I hate it in every game where it rears its ugly head... I'm from Europe myself, but I never actually made the transfer to the EU servers when it was available (something I regretted for a while before transferring from Infinity to Virtue).

Random tangent. Or rather, random rerailing.
Phipps enjoys what he does, but basically everything he does has a goal - it's not random cruelty for kicks.
Recluse is paying him to help keep the masses downtrodden and ignorant so they can't rebel against his reign.
Which is a whole different kind of evil than Rularuu for example (who's kind of CoX's Galactus?).

If I were to guess it's because D-Mac actually sees your character as a power and a real threat in the isles. He actually treats the character with respect, dignity, and decency. If it can be done here, why can't it be done anywhere else?

    EDIT: Removed redundancy.
Probably the same reason Blueside has so many filler missions in their arcs and sends you from one remote corner of Paragon City to the next - growing pains.
Redside's mission arc design is much better than Blue's, but being new at villains and all they made another mistake - this time storywise (you're a toadie for life :P).
Things will probably improve with GR, it will benefit from 6 years of experience - the mission design is better and the story approach will be better if I17's arcs are an indication.
Hell we even get the whole fixed mission location thing - no more going under the Zig to stop the latest doomsday device :P
As nice as it would be I really doubt they'll be doing much revamping of old arcs on either side of the fence.

Who stops the Rikti from opening a stable portal to their home dimension?
Who stops the Nemesis from broadcasting his mind over the Rikti metal network?

Who does seemingly ANYTHING in this city?

Because the single answer to all of those questions is $me. So, please, stop trying to tell me how "a majority of people" can't all the protagonist in their own instanced stories. IT ALREADY HAPPENS! I just want more of it.
Ironically enough I know at least one player in game who rages about all the "epic" stuff being there as much as you do about a lack of it.
Can't please them all, no matter what you do.

And after you save their *** from the Vahzilok in the back alleys of Cap... not even a little thank you, ingrates!
  21. Oh gawd, the old "How dare they even challenge my superiority by not making everything a piece of cake" issue! *hides*
  22. On that scale? A 4 maybe? Almost all of my villains are driven solely by selfishness - they do what they do to achieve their goals/desires, not caring much about who they have to step on to get it.
I've never liked the "evil for the sake of evil" characters much, even my demons are mostly more subtle than blowing stuff up for lulz (MOST of them anyway! :P).
What I liked about the new arcs is that they're entirely selfcentered, you do them because you have something to gain for yourself - unlike most of the current arcs where you're a mob enforcer/kneebreaker at best, and an errant boy at worst. :P
  23. With the new Ultra Mode graphics? Hell yeah!
I'll try to make it too! :P

    Bravo, Devs!

And yeah, I love the way the missions work tech wise - all the new stuff they did, the dialogues, the mission design.
