    Most of my characters go through 3 respecs by level 32.

    My WS is currently on 5 or 6 with another pending (why did I pick Stygian Return? Waste of time).

    Mids can't really give you a good idea of how certain power combos or IO set-ups will actually work (for example adding a PROC to Trick Arrows Ice Arrow seemed like a bright idea, until I actually tried it ingame. Urrgh)

    Agreed. Also maybe you want to swap between epics to see which one you prefer most. I lost the counts of respecs i used on Psy, and i think i want one more

    I slotted proc in Dominate but didn't see any effect yet, +2 mag hold sounded very cool but that Cimerorans still kicking me in some places too hard.

    I was dimmer than that, I added a Damage proc to Ice Arrow. USELESS!!!

    This was when I was in my PROC addiction phase, which I've weaned myself off now, mostly.

    Well... erm... I changed that +2 hold with Damage Proc. Both have same usefulness i have to admit.

    I have Damage Proc on Mass Confuse, if i can damage one mob i count myself lucky.

    Personal preference, I know. Still, I'd prefer psi melee to be weaponless until we get power customization.

    Yeah me too. This is why my Fire/SR stuck at the same level since Double XP. On my tank i don't want to get that Fire Sword powers even if they are most powerful ones or not. They just look ugly.

  5. Finally get rid of that boring hero.

    I am still thinking about possiblities. Storm is another possibility but i find it too chaotic for my taste. So thanks to good Dark defenders i met so far (Ted Knight and Biscuits for example) i think i can try a Dark/Rad.

    I hope Dark bring something good into team. We have enough (okay more than enough ) debuffs and damage.

    Heh i learned my lesson from my first time discussion in this boards. Yeah Stasis is right about 1 and especially about 3. Sexual Offenders and even Serial Killers mostly noticed after they caught.

    Taking step towards protecting children is a good step whatever the reason is.

    For Saturday Night (Well now i have that Wighfield song stuck in my head >.< ) we will meet in Croatoa. I hope we don't need a tank but if we will i think we can find one from search window.
  8. Okay here is a quick reply for my tank, Archie.

    He was around level 20 when i deleted him. So other than my primary powers my attacks have next to none sloting. If i recall correctly my Combustion had 3 slots (Acc,End Rdx,Rch or two End Rdx). The thing is after combustion enemies run like a hell and even taunt can't bring them back. I have no problem with my Inv/Dark tho. Whenever he taunts, mobs turns and attack again. I will start Mr.Twinkle as Inv/Fire again and this time slot taunt with taunt enchantement(will use taunt IO later).

    Mess idea seems very nice. Also i think tankers damage is too low, too. Come on how can someone with Super Stregth makes less damage than a Martial Artist. In Paragon Batman beats Superman i guess. Same applies for defenders. Controllers whose have lowest damage (in AT defination at least) makes more damage than defenders (some sets excluded).

    Just for clarification... I don't think Gauntlet should change in its basic form. How controllers and blasters can have two inherent power, Tanks should have Gauntlet + something in my opinion.

    Also i wish how you manage to stick foes to you with gauntlet. My Inv/Fire tankers life spend with chasing foes, even with taunt (Solo and with Combustion + Taunt). I am doing something very wrong i guess.

    The quality and scope of the Mission creation tools.

    NWN lets you create custom maps, enemies, scripts (as in programmed scripts), NPCs, Conversation Trees, hell almost everything. The Mission Architect won't let you do any of that as far as I'm aware.

    NWNs tools have far more scope than the Mission Architect in its currently known form.

    I like to add that other than MArch, laws forbid that kind of modification on CoX sources. If that much freedom allowed i guess many players will try to do Marvel/DC/Image... put other comic publisher here... heroes/villians, villian groups, special objects (like Mjolnir, Captain Shield, Cloak of Levitation even Hellicarrier)or places. So no custom costumes, no special maps, no new object or weapon modification. Even i doubt they let your self designed AVs have special power like Freedom Phalanx members or other important villian figures.

    So even playerbase has nice imagination and creative talent with MArch it will be limited by what is available to them. Personally other than copright issues i want to see player made new things in MArch made modules. Like Death Traps.
  11. First of all i assure you this is not a nerf post, I am not good with latest trends.

    Last night while playing my defender solo a question stuck into my head and i want to know what you think about it. Before getting into serious explanation on my point, i will apologize if this post'll become too long and maybe not too clear but i promise i will try to explain it the best way i can.

    We all know hero ATs designed for teams and their inherent powers reflect that. To me only 2 poor ATs reflect that and thanks to other thread about least favorite AT, proves i am a bit right about that. Yes i am talking about Tankers and Defenders and their inherent power which are useless outside of teams.

    If we look all 5 hero ATs (I won't include HEATs but if you think they should, throw your ideas in);

    Blaster: Their inherent power allows them to use 1st tier powers even mezzed(3 powers in total). Also their primary or secondary powers make more damage if they used in a short period of time.

    Controllers: Containment. Does double damage to any mezzed enemy, even they're mezzed by another team mate or another enemy. Also they have that nice critical mez power.

    Defenders: They use less endurance when their team mates are wounded. The more they close to grasp of death the less endurance they spend.

    Scrappers: Critical hit. They sometimes get a critical hit which does double damage.

    Tankers: Gauntlet. Their attack taunt enemies around them and make enemies attack the tanker instead of team mates.

    Well as you can see, 3 of 5 has inherent powers which help them no matter if they solo or not. Tankers inherent can be usefull in teams but defenders inherent makes half of the AT sets hitting themselves on their foot. Empathy, Rad, Dark, Kin and Storm defenders have healing powers which makes inherent power more useless.

    I know some players will say "Heroes are more team oriented ATs" but even if we are more team oriented, personally i love to solo a bit. Not because i am associal but as we are playing super heroes i want to see my hero stand up against regular mobs (like heroic mobs, +1 at best).

    You can solo on defenders or tanks with a solo build. With new 2nd build option it is available to us now. Still their inherent powers are useless in solo.

    So i think an update on Tanker and Defender inherents will be good (actually i think it is needed but i don't want to demand it if i am the only one who's thinking in this way). I don't have any idea what suits best for those ATs. Maybe something like D&D 4e, Tankers get a buff to hit or damage on taunted foes. Maybe defenders lower end cost will be general not dependant on team mates lives. In the end i guess devs will find something better like they did to Blasters.

    This is all i wanted to say about this matter i guess.

    What do you think about it?

    Also i don't planned EF in build till late 20s. And possibly will lose other debuff to make space for swift or Recall Friend

    I think only and maybe the biggest difference in two games is how much of the sources will opened to the players and how far players can go with modifications to originals.

    You should remember Community Something in NWN. In that hak pack a group of players put somethings or should i say many things we don't have in NWN. Like visible cloaks, new weapons, new races, new cloth/armor styles etc. etc.

    I doubt MArch will have that much freedom.

    Also no matter how good the player made content is or how many different factions it has (like Carnifax's long wanted Tsoo, CoT and Banished Phanteon mission arc) it won't make a TF designed by devs.

    If players feel a gap in their game, it is devs duty to fill it. If you think TFs/SFs ain't that special, why are they in this game? Face it this game don't have any raids like other MMOs. Only things a player can do outside the regular missions are; Farming (grinding), Badges (grinding), PvP (only for special part of Playerbase) or TFs/SFs/Trials (for everyone and much more fun than regular missions). If they remove TFs or don't make new ones in the future i think real end for this game will be it for me.

    PS: I am not scorning Farmers or Badgers, in contrary i am happy for them as they have something to enjoy in this game.
  16. You know there is a patch today, even GR didn't say what it is openly, i suspect they fixed the Union Server we broke on Sunday evening.

    So i am willing to do it again but i am not sure if devs are willing us to do it again.

    If you look at the older ones like Positron, Sister Psyche, Citadel or Manticore. Those all use regular mission maps and mobs. Synapse saves his face with last mission and GM spawn. Numina saves hers with another GM spawn.

    In all of the TFs Eden Trial, Sewers Trial, LGTF, STF, SSTF 2 and ITF have unique features. (Still need to do SSTF 1,3,4)

    The ones i mentioned in the first paragraph (Posi and others) i can make them with MArch as well. Just need to put in some mission briefing which i doubt hardly anyone read that briefings on TFs.

    As we still didn't see MArch alive, depending on the freedom playarbase/modders have (if we will have Bioware/NWN kind of freedom), there will be much better mission archs or even TFs done by players.

    EDIT: If you mean Merits or Special pool drops, well for me those things means nothing. I just like to enjoy TFs and with special ones i love the feeling of accomplishment you have at the end.

    Yes it is Mission Architect.

    I am bit worried about it. I mean devs can decide it is enough to keep playerbase occupied with player designed missions. I know probably some of them will be great but i want so see more TFs done by professionals in game. Especially ones done with STF or ITF style.

    Lost Curing Wand

    Yeah i am thinking about it everytime i get that wand. My usual curing ground is Hollows. After hitting one with the wand rest scatter around. I never understand the long recharge time on that thing to be honest. Cured lost don't give any xp at all.

    Even i swear in real life often in game i don't need to do it. It is a game after all. If you have to swear, go ahead and swear all you want as nobody in game will hear you but typing that words on chat window is unneccessary. Keeping your tongue in check and trying to pick harmless words shows your respect to other team mates, in my opinion.

    In the end if i really have to swear i do it in real life and not reflect that into game (I never swear in teams as i mostly team with friends or team mates mostly add me into their globals after teaming, i do it when i die stupidly on solo missions ). This is a game after all, people come to here for relaxing from everyday life's stress why put more stress on them by rude behavior or immature acts.

    I wonder if the lack of dev support in adding new SFs has a lot to do with the fact that fewer people play villains? It's just not worth their while.

    But certainly there should be a SF for every level range in the game IMO.

  23. Maybe i will give a middle road answer but in my opinion everyone's perfect soloing toon varies depending on indivudal playsyle and taste.

    For me best soloing character is Mind/something troller. Mind/Rad is the best tho.

    On your little list Stone/Axe tank is a big no i guess. Without SBing partner on your side you won't be using your best power, Granite.

    If you want to play a tank in solo, pick WP. With extra end you can offer high damaging secondary with more attacks.
  24. Hmmm interesting tactic, i never thought skipping SS. That even work on a Defender. Actually work better on a Defender i guess, as you will get your kin powers faster.

    Finally will i be able to play a kin? Time will show it i guess. First i need to level up my current builds.
