  1. I didn't ask for the best in general, I asked for the best survivability, and most of you overlooked that and argued the point that there is no best in general

A lot of people seemed to mention the same few power sets which helped me to narrow them all down to

Invun/WP/Stone as being the best for damage mitigation, not many mentioned the likes of Ice.

so I guess my question was valid since there are better tanks which can survive longer than others
and fair enough there are some sets which can do other things better, but all I wanted was some feedback on the best for taking damage. which was a more than valid question

anyways, I settled with WP so you can all stop posting here and arguing etc. you have helped me more than enough =]

thanks!, (and I see I'm no longer Infamous ty again)

    /thread for real this time!

all of my threads are valid and appropriate for the section where they were posted.

asking opinions on classes is what a class discussion forum is for isn't it?
  3. wow! I was only really looking for a bit of an overview of the strengths of each primary and it turned into a huge argument lol

I also see I became infamous on here :[

I guess nobody likes my threads

dark used to be my secondary on my old char so I was wanting to maybe try the new sets, and ya it is a great set and fun to play

and thankyou Wassabi, I think I will go with pain then
  5. Hey peoples!

I am going to make a MM and I think thugs seems the most fun choice to pick, I had one a long time ago which I leveled to 32 and it was alot of fun
but I cannot decide on a secondary, I would like to team with others and maybe help heal etc, but i don't want to be a buffbot
so which would you guys say is better between Pain and thermal?

I know thermal might get annoying having to shield all my own pets + the team over and over, and pain might be more passive

but would I give up much by going with pain? or are they equal power sets?

PS: if you have any other ideas of good grouping sets then let me know, I'm not 100% set with thugs so if there is anything better then I could switch
  6. that build has some nice numbers, but I am not looking to take taunt and I would have liked eviscerate in it too since it's my fave power
  7. Hi guys, I want to transfer some influence from heroes to villains so I thought I would post here in case anyone would like to trade with me

I have about 1.5bil to transfer but I will transfer smaller amounts if you don't have that much. We can do it in small amounts to be safe if it makes you feel better

Leave a message here if you are interested, I will check the forums regularly

    thanks,
  8. is there anything that should be changed in this build? it loooks pretty well rounded and not too expensive to make

  9. Hi guys, after trying different brutes and reading alottt of threads with info on each, I finally stuck with Claws/SR

    But I have a problem

I'm not very good at making builds, and I know that if I make one, I will end up ruining it and wasting alot of inf on it

So I was wondering if any of you guys have a good build for me

    I can spend between 1 - 2,000,000,000+ inf

I will spend alot if it is going to help my toon more

I am looking for, the best defence & recharge I can get, so whatever build you guys think works best

    please share!

    thankyou,

edit: I also have ninja run so a travel power isn't so important
  10. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

    thanks for the info guys

I am going to settle with Claw/SR since they work well together and my toon is ironically named Ninja Kitty so the set works perfect as a theme

is it possible to perma hasten with that set? or what would be the closest recharge I can gain with it, while also keeping my soft cap
  11. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

I'm level 7 and already having doubts

I keep wanting to try SS/SR and Claw/SR

which is better out of the two?

I think claws might be good if it's slotted for recharge + quickness

but i'm not sure how well the damage is when compared to SS
  12. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

I ended up SS/Fire in the end

I've decided to go for more damage than defence since I will be going blue in GR, so I can be more of a scrapper

i'm just wondering, is Fire better than SR for damage? I'm not sure if quickness works well for recharge, or if embrace is better to go with
  13. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

well I'm playing SS/WP atm and it's fun so far
  14. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

I have enough inf to fully IO it as much as is needed

I like Fire/Invun/WP the most and I am looking to be a tanker brute but also give out damage too

so whichever secondary will help me live longest is the one I will go with
  15. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

    thanks for the info guys
    im making my character now

I have already decided on SS as my primary, but I'm not sure about my secondary

I need to think about GR and what will be most needed

should I go for fire? or maybe a more tanky secondary, like WP (or invun maybe?)
  16. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

so who will take a back seat? Brutes feed off aggro to make them stronger, but tanks need aggro to make them useful (why have a tanker who isn't tanking?)

I'm just not sure how it will work

I am going to make a brute either way though
  17. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

sorry maybe "less utility" was the wrong thing to say

I was thinking about how scrappers can play different roles, Like spines, and its AoE.

brutes seem to just dish out alot of damage, the same as a scrapper, but won't really be tankers since the actual tanker will probably be doing that for you

brutes gain fury from taking hits as well as giving them, so unless they are tanking, their fury won't be building as well

so there doesn't seem to be a need for a brute
  18. Kitty

    The BEST Brute

I haven't played a brute before but I think I'm going to try one, but I have a concern

when GR is released, and brutes can go blue, where will they be left?
will they be the same as a scrapper but with less utility?
and will they have to take a back seat to tankers because they are squishier

the brute seems like the Jack-of-all trades character, but master of none
  19. is there anything which can offer more than a WP can? or is WP the next best thing from stone

I would like to play a stone tank too, but when I used to actively play, I remember them being quite slow without a pocket kin
  20. okay I know the title sounds a bit silly, but what I am looking for is just the best primary for survivability, just whatever will live longest

I like the idea of WP/SS, but if there is anything better then please let me know

I will fully IO the toon, so i'm looking for whichever toon is best with IO's to make it unstoppable

    thanks,
  21. well I'm not sure if I will be playing much by the time GR is released. I might play now and then, so DP is the main reason I would be pre-ordering

I'm basically just asking if DP is a good set or if it's one of the worse sets.

it seems to be lacking alot of stuff, but still looks nice and flashy
  22. Hey guys, I can't decided if it's worth pre-ordering GR right now just to play Dual Pistols

I have heard alot of bad things about them

I have a Psy/EM blaster which is fully IO'd so I'm not sure how DP really compares

is it worth it? or is DP no fun

also, which secondaries go best with it?

    thanks,
  23. Hi guys, I am looking to make a scrapper with the best survivability

I have read pages and pages of the forum trying to find an answer but alot of people say different things

I like the Idea of a DM/SR scrapper, but I also like the idea of Kat/WP (pretty generic but alot of people must like it for a reason!)

can anyone help me decide which will live longest between the two? or if you have anything else that would work better then feel free to throw that in there!

PS. I can have alot of inf saved so I can IO the toon as much as it's needed

    thanks =] x
  24. Hey guys, a lot of people have probably asked this but I can't seem to find a thread about it so I am just going to ask here

has there been any information released about when WW will be back up?

    thanks,
  25. Kitty

    Fire/Cold

    double post! sorry
