If you don't want to be a buffbot I'd suggest dark as the secondary it has a great heal (with an accurracy slotted) but the other powers are debuffs etc ( and dark servant will do the healing for you!)
Thugs/Pain is the easiest MM I have ever played (that didn't get boring, i.e. FF).
I highly recommend it, and often recommend it for people who want to try MM for the first time.

Hey peoples!
I am going to make a MM and I think thugs seems the most fun choice to pick, I had one a long time ago which I leveled to 32 and it was alot of fun
but I cannot decide on a secondary, I would like to team with others and maybe help heal etc, but i don't want to be a buffbot
so which would you guys say is better between Pain and thermal?
I know thermal might get annoying having to shield all my own pets + the team over and over, and pain might be more passive
but would I give up much by going with pain? or are they equal power sets?
PS: if you have any other ideas of good grouping sets then let me know, I'm not 100% set with thugs so if there is anything better then I could switch
