Well It depends on what type of character you like to PvP with, telling us what class you liked and least liked for pvp would help too, to you said you're new so I'm assuming you haven't tried pvp in this game? Because I personally find wow pvp to be a lot better and more balanced.
Like playing a Hunter in wow? The the mastermind is for you, here you get 6 pets, no win button, and you can be a Tank(you need to stay close to your minions for them to protect you, this means that they can absorb most of the damage done to you, making you insanely hard to kill, and in some builds you have a Area of effect Heal that will most probably heal the minions to full and some debuff the crap out of opponents making you a very annoying opponent to face, in fact most people completely avoid you unless they have friends to tag along and gang on you!) - Anyways Poison, Dark Miasma and Thugs(have a robots but I don't get as many kills) are both pretty good, I prefer having a DM on zone toon just for the survivability(remember you are going to get ganged big time), poison is harder to use but the debuffs are awesome, you don't have AoE heals with poison though. Personally I like Thugs/Poison or Thugs/DM.
Anyways the most fun I have is with the Peace bringer(Think of it as a druid), I really like having 3 forms to choose from, free travel powers, that you can put a lot of procs on them, and that they are hard as hell to kill, meh I guess I always liked jack of all trades type characters.
Psy/EM's are pretty fun too, Its pretty easy to use, good and fun to play, Psy sound effect is annoying though, I'll have change the sound effects later if its possible. -
I always wanted a PB, with AE I leveled one to 50, triform(to help with the AE and Task Forces farms, though for pvp I think I would have choosen 3form too)I'm thinking of a similar build for pvp, basically treat Glreaming bolt as Neutrino bolt and proc the crap out of it, but will it be enough to just have one attack to spam over and over on the human form? I can kill people in sirens, but not in RV unless I get a lucky proc strike(and I can't tell if it will viable because I have 2 procs and not 4 on GB, the other 2 will make a difference but I'm not sure if it will be big enough).
And what about Nova? should I even take it and put 3 Procs in the two single targets attacks and add 2 or 3 cents? I notice that Nova is very sqishy and when playing on it unless I ambush people(doms mostly) I usually end up with around 1/3 health or going to human, Heal(with no shield toggles =/) kill them or Phase or Dwarf Heal and TP out if It becomes available.
Anyways the class is pretty fun, I like it more than my psy blaster even if its more challenging . -
I'll probably make a Thugs/Thermal, hopefully Demon Summoning will have a RI pet so you can put all 4 aura procs(not counting the placate one, and the defense ones were a ***** to buy), I do like the idea of 40+% defense 40+%DR thugs.

been working on a thugs/poison Mastermind Build, not sure if taking Shark Jaws is a good idea(thinking of getting TP foe instead), anyways here it is, its not fully slotted since I can barely keep my eyes open, feedback on the powers(since Im not so sure on some) would be appreciated though.

Blasters/Stalkers/Scrappers ahoy on Going Rogue, one of the things I liked about COH and COV was that each side had different classes, not after going rogue.
-
Where exactly was it stated that it would be updates? I'm curious because I've been using Mid's Hero designer for Issue 13, thought the authoer quit updating it.
-
no, bad players make bad players, its not like there weren't bad players before AE, although there are more now that leveling is a lot faster, 1-50 on AE should be more than enough for a player to get decent at least and not be a more of a hindrance than help to team with his build though, its been a while that I've seen a Mastermind screw up the team so I guess its not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be.
-
Yes you may, do it while having a honorable 1v1 duel while their corpses haven't gotten to the hospital.
-
Heh, No AT should be overpowered, if its intended to be all damage then of course it should be powerful, but not overpowered, no one asked for all the AT to be all the same, but there's a point were too much of a good thing will make it overpowered.
-
Well I don't mind if the build is good and I just suck, I can get better with time, even the best builds can be made look like bad by unskilled players, what worried me was that it wasn't a good pvp tank build as I've been told and can't compete well with other players.

Fire/SS/(Pyre) is much better at level 50 for Zone PvP
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree. I used to have pyre, but earth works a lot better for me. The extra damage is pretty absurd. Fossilize hits noticeably harder than Ko Blow from 80 foot range, and the immobilize is strong too. Pyre's attacks are a lot weaker.
[/ QUOTE ]
True it does hit a lot harder:
1.2 Accurancy
176.51 damage
Recharge time 32 seconds
Cast time 2.07 seconds
+2s Held (mag 3) If target is a player
but it does Take a lot longer to cast and the recharge is bad compared to fire blast:
1.0 Accurancy
* 4 * 4.45 Fire damage over 3.10 seconds (after 0.5 second delay) (80% chance)
* 66.79 Fire damage If target is a player
Cast time 1.2 seconds
Recharge time 6 seconds
not to mention that Fiery embrace has a 20 second duration since its a fire attack instead of 10 seconds that would be for fossilize, pyre is pretty much why I took the fiery aura to be honest. -
How good is this build for zone pvp? I have a 29 FA/SS, first non squishy and non ranged character I've had, needless to say I'm not very good with him, but Its worse than I expected, I was told with the right slotting that they are among the better Tankers for pvp, was the guy exaggerating here?
