I suppose if anyone cares to know, I personally haven't seen any of chat spam, though I haven't around in the last couple weeks. I also make it a priority to be patient with anyone that takes the time to send me a readable question, even though I'm not a particularly patient person. And I've gone out of my way to respond to Broadcast help questions, though I usually reply with a tell so as to not clog the channel.
That being said, there are some things I just outright ignore. If what they're asking about can be easily learned by playing the tutorial, I won't answer it. I also won't respond to a question that has too much l33t sp43k or however the hell people spell that now. If they aren't willing to type out actual words, I'm not going to listen to it. (Though I do try to be tolerant of a lack of punctuation and use of the beloved shift key. Just that replacing words or letters with numbers is a stupid practice.)
I think I can answer just about every general knowledge question, it's only with things like TFs and specific story arcs that I have problems with. Also, NPC locations. I'm terrible at navigating, though I can point newbies towards the area they're looking for most of the time. I have played every low level mission at least once, after. Altitis, y'know?
...SO! While we're making crazy demands, I'd like to suggest rainbow hair! -

Frankly, I never liked using the titles. They just seem... cluttered, to me. Badge titles, sure, I like those. But the actual title titles? Not so much. Not that I don't want them in the game, it's just that they don't appeal to my tastes.
Again, I'm running around with a main that doesn't even have any sort of hero name... -
Aye, but it doesn't stop you from introducing yourself as The Unstoppable Whatever-You-Want.
Though this is coming from someone who's two main characters don't have codenames or secret identities... -

...After getting DC'd too much, I statted out an Illusion/Sonic Controller with Mids... Then watched My Little Pony. Damn you all to hell.

Quote:Clearly I should have my adorable little scrapper stalk you until you agree to let her be your sidekick. =DI wish the RP were better, more universal, but that's as much a function of me being less out there as it is anything else
There's something to be said about having a pint sized nerd that can punch doors off their hinges backing you up... -
Quote:Never seen them as 'ill defined'. They deal damage. They just trade the Scrapper's random crits for controlled extra damage. Though I main a Martial Arts Scrapper, so maybe I'm not the normal player, but there are other ATs that can handle AoE while the Stalker takes chunk after chunk of health out of more durable enemies.Stalkers at this point really have an ill defined role. Burst damage in a game where AoE and sustained DPS are king is rather pointless
As for ill defined jobs, how about Mastermind and Brute? Brute has a taunt aura, but unlike the Tanker isn't always durable enough to take the punishment it brings. And I've seen dozens of MMs that could tank better a Stone Tanker.
Quote:i13 really was made despite PvPers, not because of them.
Quote:A lot of people feel the new raids are terrible ideas that are ruining the game for one reason or another. Hell even as far back as ED it has been the same way.
How does the new content ruin the game? Really? There's plenty of radio, AE and TF teams going around, so it can't be due to lack of available players for that content. Is it the time involved? You don't have to invest any time into it if you don't want to, you aren't worse off for it. Is it the matter of PvP balance? Well hard core PvPers would put the time into min-maxing and getting the new shiny abilities anyway.
Quote:They are Devs for a company where the bottom line is money, not player happiness.
Seriously, I've been in some of the ********* MMOs ever devised. Games that weren't fun or interesting, they were just a dull grind for experience points and equipment, nothing more. The quests were boring, the characters were all the same, and some of them that had made promises never kept their word. When I asked about what was the point, where was the fun, I was unanimously told to go do the PvP content or shut up. That was it. The entire game boiled down to getting shiny new crap so you could totally over power other players. No backstory, no roleplaying, nothing but collecting bear ***** and grinding.
So pardon me for being a CoH fangirl and praising the devs when they're the only ones to provide me with a game worth my money. -
I don't even want to try to think about that. I'd give you booze if I could. =|

Quote:Same. It's not like they're necessary, though. They're just flashy, fun and useful for clearing out the hordes and hordes of alien cannon fodder.Mothership Raids with a League team. It's so simple!
The only level shift for the Mothership raids will be +1, not +3. My Incarnate doesn't have any I20 slots unlocked yet, but that'll come in time.
I'm looking forward to beating G'rai's head in again. Last time I could run a mothership raid was back when I was level 47. I'm pretty sure I had a really good Defender or two on the team, because I managed to go toe to toe with the giant jerk for a significant amount of time (and make a significant dent in his health) without anyone else attacking him.
Which is what cemented my love of ship raids for all time. <3 -
Quote:I've played quite a few MMOs... Mostly Ragnarok Online, years ago. I've never played WoW, but I have many, many friends who do... And they've always been raid-this, grind-that, gotta-get-better-loot. Very few even read quest information, let alone the background game lore.I can't help but feel that you've never played another MMO...or even WoW for that matter....
Which puts me at odds with them, because sometimes I just like to sit down and take in the game world. I like to imagine that it's more than just a daily chore, to log on, stab some random monsters and hope for a lucky drop. With CoH, I can do that. CoH gives me the sense that I'm a world filled with super heroes, not just a bunch of people level grinding or botting.
Quote:Balance: Yeeeeah...there are some real duds in the AT department, Stalkers and Kheldians, and there are some REALLY powerful sets and ATs out there. The thing is, this game is so easy it doesn't really matter what power sets or ATs you bring as long as you have support characters. Cause lets face it Defenders, Corrs, Trollers, and MMs are force multipliers and they make everything cake.
Further more, Kheldians aren't 'duds'. They just require a deeper understanding of the game mechanics and, above all, focus. Kheldians can do anything in the game, but can't do everything. Want a durable blaster? Kheldians can do it. How about a Defender with self heals? Kheldians can do it. But it's right there in the description that Kheldians aren't outright specialists in one area. They work best when augmenting a team. But that doesn't mean they're weak. Heck, I've seen a pair of Kheldians that could duo x8 missions.
Quote:As a PvPer I feel like our Dev team has terrible communication skills and flat out ignore the players, but it is all about perception.
Quote:For example, your Alpha slot thing...Pushing it back isn't exactly listening to the players...it is pushing it back. Listening to players would have been to release enough content with GR to encompass all new additions to the game.
There was guaranteed to be someone complaining regardless, and some impatient brats are easier to listen to than a torrent of "PATCH NAO!" whiners. -
But not space ghosts. I learned my lesson last time.
As it's been said: Bringing forth the souls of defeated enemies is very magic friendly. Never mind that there are magic and psychic robots in CoH's lore, so having them in Lore doesn't seem like a stretch, now does it? -
...I'm not sure whether this is proof that that universe wants me to lay off CoH a bit or proof that the Rikti are interfering with my net connection... But I had planned to run a ship raid Sunday. I woke up at 9~10am, went to log on and post about it, to get it all set up aaaaand... My net was down. All day.
This makes me very sad. Beating up Rikti is my hobby... -

Interesting note: Back around 3pm I was going to start preparing for a ship raid, which I hoped to start around 8pm...
Then I got called away to help transport a refrigerator and fix up a boat. (Despite the fact that I have the upper body strength of a squirrel...) So yeah. Well. Bad timing today. -
If it's a bunch of strangers getting together without any discussion before hand, it's still a random team.

You know what bugs me about the LFG groups? I can't join them. I joined one just fine. My only Lambda run. Now? I join a queue, wait five minutes, it says an event is 'about to start'... and fifteen minutes later I'm still sitting around wondering when 'about' is going to become 'now'.
And I'm not even doing anything. Not going to other zones, just sitting in the middle of Atlas. Not even toggling powers or managing enhancements of anything. Just sitting, waiting... and nothing ever comes of it. -
-
No, no. No. Just no. You want to win? Think of inflation: The internet.
There. I win. You can't top that. -
