  1. Turns out there wasn't a patch. My updater was just being a ******, and wanted to fix and verify things.

Anyway, I clicked an empty slot to make a new character, picked Praetorian -> Brute -> Kinetic Melee, hovered over Burst, and set the slider to 50.

    The results were:
    31.28 Smashing Damage
    20.85 Energy Damage

Plus, while under effect from Power Siphon, it adds +25% strength to Smashing, Lethal, Fire, Cold, Energy, and Negative Energy on self.
  2. It turns out the problem lies with where you have your Shader Quality set.

If it is set to Lowest, Low (No world bumpmaps), or Low (With world bumpmaps), you won't see patterns on any of the Shields, except Kite.

If it is set to Medium or High, patterns show up as they should.

Yes, you can buy them via the Complete Collection Booster, but since the booster is just a collection of the in-game goodies that comes with the GR boxed set, i.e. the Complete Collection, technically, they're part of GR.

Essentially, if you want the Alpha and Omega stuff, you have to pay real monies. They're not freebie costume parts.
  4. Looks great!!

    Also: Team Meatwad? Hells yeah!!

    Buy This

That turned out well. It's nice to be able to see it not small-ish, and without ads blocking it...
  6. Er... I was gonna post the Real Numbers, but seems there's a patch. I'll add it to my list of stuff to do on Beta tonight.

    HPT and RttC

    I have a whopping 1 charcter slotted with sets, and that's a /SD Scrapper.

For /WP, I slot HPT with 3 Heals early, and late in the build, I add 3 Resist Damage to it, for 6 slots of fun.

RttC gets 4-5 slots, depending on how many I have left over. I slot it with 3 Heals at Level 16-17, then when I can spare a slot, I'll throw in an Endurance Reducer slot. If I have an extra slot, I'll throw in an extra slot with a Taunt.

My Claws/WP Brute I'm making when GR goes Live will have HPT 6 slotted with 3 Heal, and 3 Resist Damage, and RttC 5 slotted with 3 Heal, 1 Endurance Reducer, and 1 Taunt.

Bonus: If you want to make sure you never run out of End, grab Quick Recovery and Stamina, both 3 slotted with Endurance Modifiers, and then take the new Energy Mastery Ancillary Pool. From there, grab umm... I forget the name, but it's a passive power that adds +5 Max End. Slot 3 Endurance Modifications into it, and it will increase your Max End by ~7 points, IIRC. Then, grab Physical Perfection, and put at least 3 slots into it, filled with Endurance Modifications. Your Recovery will be stupid good before adding any Sets. For extra fun, use the system to side-switch to Hero, and get the various +End Accolades.
  8. Hmm... I wonder if that's it... I'll fiddle with my settings and see what I can see...

Someone go make a No "cursedsorcerer" Thread.
  10. Alpha and Omega Costume Bits (including Alpha & Omega Auras) are GR-Only. The rest are I-18.
  11. I'm right there with you. If I've been in the Beta, then when we get close to the release of a new Issue, I end up so exicited I just can't play. I have to go find other things to do while I wait.

These next 5 days are gonna KILL me. x_x
  12. Most people will opt for KM on a Scrapper first, and Stalker second, because of the T9. On a Scrapper, Concentrated Strike will not Crit. Instead, if the attack would have landed a Crit, it will instantly recharge Power Siphon. For a Stalker, it has a chance to instantly recharge Build Up.
  13. As I type this, I have the Beta client open, and on the Character Creation screen. Patterns are working for Hero, Villain, and Praetorian options on Cavalier -> Cavalier, Cavalier -> Knight, Heater, Kite, and Round.

I can provide screenshots, if you'd like.
  14. With unlimited letters available, I'd make Herr Gambolputty de von Ausfern -schplenden -schlitter -crasscrenbon -fried -digger -dingle -dangle -dongle -dungle -burstein -von -knacker - thrasher -apple -banger -horowitz -ticolensic -grander -knotty -spelltinkle -grandlich -grumblemeyer -spelterwasser - kurstlich -himbleeisen -bahnwagen -gutenabend -bitte -ein -nürnburger -bratwustle -gerspurten -mitz -weimache - auuber -hundsfut -gumberaber -shönendanker-kalbsfleisch -mittler -aucher von Hautkopft of Ulm.

    Costume Codes

There's a new PPD costume code now. It's the Praetoria Police Deptartment. Unless they add them later, it's the only way to get the awesome gloves they use.
  19. From what I can see on the GR Beta Server, it's fixed.

    his, coming from a Loyalis....
  21. Because the original thread is in the Closed Beta section, and because it's close to 4 months now, with no fix, I'm going to repost the first post of my Zowie fix here. It may end up being needed once GR launches...

After work today, I made a new, temporary icon for the waypoints used in the various outdoor missions in Nova Praetoria. I say temporary, because I'm sure that an upcoming patch will have a better Official™ icon.

Here's a screenshot of the icon in action during Praetor White's Gather Roses mission:

Tell me you can't see that!? (Actually, colorblind people may not be able to... nurts... only just now thought about that...)

Anyway, just download the file PObjective.rar, and extract it. When it asks where to extract it to, point it to your CohBeta folder (generally C:\Program Files\CohBeta\ for 32-bit Windows, or C:\Program Files (x86)\CohBeta\ for 64-bit Windows)*. It should go into the correct forlder.

If you want to double check to make sure, it should be located in the \data\texture_library\GUI\HUD\Map\ directory.

    Enjoy!!

    * - If the image hasn't been changed come Tuesday, then the proper folder to point to is your City of Heroes folder, generally C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\ for 32-bit Windows, or C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\ for 64-bit Windows.
  22. I think you changed your birthday, and have no avatar, just to get out of getting an HBAS from me...

P.S. - Did that milk come from Larson Farms?
