Shield Defense Customization Problems

Has anyone else had problems setting a second color on normal (non-reinforced) shields? No matter what pattern I select it seems that only the primary color appears? Any info or workarounds would be helpful.

Ok, so that's why I couldn't get a second colour on my shield, it wasn't only me.

Nope. I whipped up a Kin/Shield Brute (Praetorian) just now and the background pattern on shields are only working on Kite shields (the tall, rounded triangle ones). Very annoying.

As I type this, I have the Beta client open, and on the Character Creation screen. Patterns are working for Hero, Villain, and Praetorian options on Cavalier -> Cavalier, Cavalier -> Knight, Heater, Kite, and Round.

Strange. Maybe it requires Shaders to be on High or something (which I don't do because it really kills my frame rates in Praetoria, especially on the new tech maps).

It turns out the problem lies with where you have your Shader Quality set.

If it is set to Lowest, Low (No world bumpmaps), or Low (With world bumpmaps), you won't see patterns on any of the Shields, except Kite.

If it is set to Medium or High, patterns show up as they should.

Thanks for testing. Not that my only actual shield user needs it - the reinforced cavalier looks good in the colors I've chosen just with the symbol in the middle (since he's Canadian-themed, it's a red rim, white field, and a red maple leaf).
