Kings Island... Bah Cedar Point which is considered one of the best amusement parks in the world! It is more north off of Lake Erie look it up.
We are in a state of flux right now because of the move, we could be flying into Cleveland the last week of June if things do not go well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, seriously, go [censored] yourself for not going to Cedar Point! -

Unless you're talking about the legal system...but that's a bunch of rubbish anyways. -
Someone help me...I'm trying to figure out how to zero star a thread.

LOL @ fallenz for letting out my sekret! Nobody tell Imeco I've been sitting on HH's sexy tractor!

I really enjoyed the concept of this arc! Great choice on the small map; it doesn't take long to explore and find the differences between missions. The second and third acceptance/send-off texts could use something more. I don't really know how to explain it, but for some reason I didn't like Foreshadow referring to them as missions. I jotted down some notes as I played, let me know if you have any questions about them!
First Mission:
The first line by Agent Marx contained a <br> tag.
I enjoyed the ordinary computer. I'm hoping it shows up again as something useful.
Second Mission:
I think the mission acceptance text and the following send-off needs to be changed.
Found the computer again...nothing yet!
Third Mission:
I liked the acceptance text a lot more this time. The send-off text still feels like it needs work.
Ah the computer! I knew it...this time it appeared as a destructible object in the middle of the hallway. A little strange, but I don't think you can change the position much.
Fourth Mission:
Much better acceptance/send-off!
I was suprised not to see Marx anywhere, but he was on lunch, so it was all good. He came back just in time!
The return text had the following sentence that didn't seem complete: "You say the computer mentioned that a boss was holding onto."
Fifth Mission:
Again, I really liked this acceptance/send-off.
I don't remember a second boss. Were there any clues to hint at him?
Loved the computer interaction.
I was worried at first because I didn't see Marx right away...but then I found him and his final text couldn't have been more right!(I did see a spelling error in the objective complete text though, "necissary")
One other suggestion I would like to see, is description text for Marx, and the other boss. It would be really neat to see it change slightly for Marx each mission, or to have the second boss in each mission with no speaking parts, but the description text would let you know he's not just another minion. I really couldn't tell if he was in the first four missions or not.
Overall, this was an enjoyable arc that was lowbie/solo friendly. Thanks! -

04-28-2009 17:57:54 [Local] Positron: Yes, if you lodge Complaints against the farms, they can be taken care of
[/ QUOTE ]
That's from Positron on test...
Guess this is settled!
EDIT: Removed "So I guess that means that the official position is that we should complain about farms." from the quote. I don't think that was from Posi, but the poster who transcribed the chat. Was a little misleading. -
A farm is not an exploit, but a farm can contain exploits. Those exploits should be fixed, and missions that use them removed.
I'd feel the same way if there were a story-enhancing exploit, and a bunch of story missions used it.
It can be argued that these things are working-as-programmed, because the game allows it, but it's fairly obvious that it's not working-as-intended based on feedback from Positron linked to earlier. -

Can't I just report it and let a GM decide?
[/ QUOTE ]
Can't I just report lame stories and let the GM decide about that?
Can't I just report mission with baddies that I feel are overkill and abusive?
Why don't we ALL just report EVERY SINGLE mission that we don't like, just to see if the devs will be OK with taking it out?
[/ QUOTE ]
What a false analogy. We're talking about reporting possible violations of the EULA, not personal taste. I wouldn't call security just because I don't like the color of one's car. I mean, I could, but that would get me in trouble for abusing the system.
Speaking of which, one can get in trouble for abusing the report system, so I suppose one could report as much as one wanted, if one wants to get in trouble oneself.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which I hope these anti-farming nazis run into - but back to your unproven assertion:
Please specifically quote the part of the EULA that you are using as the basis for the reports YOU are making.
Reporting a mission for having a reward rate you do not like, or being "too" monotonous, is exactly thr same as reporting a mission for having the wrong colored car - a matter of taste.
Reporting a mechanic that is too easily abused, like possibly comm officers, is much more defendable.
So again, exactly what part of the EULA do you think being violated? Please quote FROM the EULA.

Try Rule 18 of the Rules of Conduct:
You will not exploit any bug in City of Heroes and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of City of Heroes . Bugs should be promptly reported via 'Ask A Question' at http://support.cityofheroes.com.
Farm Missions are almost by definition an exploit of some bug, whether it's making a Custom Group of creatures that give rewards that excede the reward normally given for that type of creature (Rikti Dolls) or custom creatures that have no chance to damage you (melee attacks only and you have hover). And by making a mission using this exploit, you are communicating it to other players.
[/ QUOTE ]
You need to demonstrate that a farm is a bug - which you cannot, because it is not.
You are done.

My favorite part of this pyramid is that it starts with a claim of fallacy, and then contains three more within it. It starts with a little slippery slope, mixes in a dash of ad hominem, and tops it off with burden of proof. Good game. -
Mine are mostly obscure references, like a T. Rex named Pete whose favorite dish is Cow Vindaloo.
The souvenir mentions the number 416, because that's how many pages Jurrasic Park has. I'd be floored if someone picked up on that. -
LOL @ HH...this is how you [censored] do a [censored]! Who the [censored] uses the [censored] <> things??

Hey Alty!
If you're still looking for 2-3 mission arcs, I've got one for you. Arc #114776, "The Land Before Time-and-a-half". It's a goofy one using Technician Naylor as a launching point. Three missions long, and has an EB at the end, but it shouldn't be too difficult.
Thanks! -
If you're still taking missions, I'd like to suggest #114776 "The Land Before Time-and-a-half". It's a fairly short 3 mission arc. Contains all custom critters and some humor.
Thanks, I'll be playing your arc shortly! -
Did you ever find a fix for this?
I'm also finding that my mission is incorrectly placing a couple of my allies in the wrong group. Everything seems correct in the AE UI, and even in the .storyarc file.
The issue is I have 4 allies, and about half of the allies are taking on the name of their surrounding enemy group. -
Volunteers...or victims?
-
Arc Name: The Land Before Time-and-a-half
Arc ID: 114776
Faction: Mildly Villainous
Difficulty Level: Medium (1 EB with Ally help)
Synopsis: Technician Naylor is back, and this time he has hacked into the AE System. It seems to have given his portal a little extra kick! This arc will take you back in time, and then over in time to a new dimension.
Estimated Time to Play: 15 - 25 minutes (3 missions total)

...and I trust that calling a mob to arms will work out *just* fine...
what could go wrong?
[/ QUOTE ]
Angry troll is angry...and he's going to show it with sarcasm!
Blatant farms are easy to pick out, no matter how much story you throw on them. If they use exploits such as hundreds of defendable objects or only mobs that give 2x xp, they should be reported as such.
And what is wrong with rating an arc low that falsely advertises itself? If you slap a "Short Stories" book cover on War and Peace, I'm going to be pissed when I get through the first couple pages and realize it's not a short story. How is it my fault for not enjoying that? The author lied to me. I'm not going to rate it as a novel because that's what it is, I'm going to rate it as a short story, because that's what was portrayed to me. As far as short stories go, War and Peace sucks. 0 stars. -
Me thinks that would be a good reason for less stars!
You could always get them back by tagging your story arc as a farm. -
You can set them as captives too if you don't want a lvl 54 AV stomping you into the ground. I'm pretty sure they are in Arachnos...look for Black Scorpion, etc.
-
Frustrating and rewarding all at the same time. I hate when I can't get a mission the way I want it, but when I finally figure it out it's beautiful!
-
Ghost Busters!
Sounds like one of your clues is the culprit now, instead of the briefing. Take a look at those. -
Yar, it seems that placement doesn't mean squat on this map.

Instead of triggering the battle when the boss is defeated, trigger it when he's at 3/4 health (or 1/2 or 1/4. These are all valid options). Hopefully the boss will be too busy fighting the players to be aggroed by the battle.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks, I'll give it a try! My only fear is that the battle will aggro the players and make the encounter much more difficult than it needs to be. (It's a battle between two groups of bosses only, not really intended to be interrupted by the players.)
I'm wondering if the spawn points are placed sequentially on the outdoor maps. I'm also going to try to place some patrol objectives between the boss and battle to see if that spaces it out at all.
I'll let you know what I come up with, thanks!
