I know I hardly ever post, and I'm usually no good at saying things the right way, but instead of moaning about the rough deal we're getting why can't we, the EU, actually DO something ourselves to get more players? I know in the 3 years I've been playing that at least 3 of my friends took up subscriptions to the game, even if only briefly, but that was 3 more than it would have been as they'd never heard of the game before!

If everyone decided to stop playing in protest then of course they'd shut down the servers. There'd be no reason to keep them running.

The more people we can get to play the game, the more it proves to them how passionate we are about this game. Okay, so there's no advertising... we, the players talk about the game to our friends, get them to tell their friends and so on..

Just an idea as I'm depressed right now with all the doom and gloom

You could try pressing PrtSc and then opening something like Paint and doing Ctrl V to paste the screenshot of your desktop in to the program.

Deja vu.. every time i restart my computer i get the "Failed to rename" error! I have to either rename the .new file to a nice .eu.exe file.. or delete the .prv and change the name of the updater to the US one, then back to the EU one after it's tried to install... or i download the updater AGAIN!

Dang it.. shut down my laptop when I went to bed last night after fixing the Updater so that I could get in to the game. Now I try and log in only to discover that the Updater doesn't work anymore. Have now just re-named the cohupdater.eu.new to cohupdater.eu.exe and that's fixed it for the time being. If, after a restart, that no longer works i'll have a go at downloading the uploader that Niviene posted..

Is there a way of getting the updater to work for the EU please? I've tried all this and NOTHING is working.

Edit: For EU peoples this should work..

1. Go into the folder where CoH is, for example c:\program files\city of heroes
2. Delete the .prv file in there as per instructed by TheOcho
3. Rename the cohupdater.EU to just cohupdater (if you're in Vista click all the appropriate YES buttons as per normal)
4. Right click and run as Admin if in Vista, or just double click cohupdater
5. When it asks where to put the files (as it's now wanting to install the US version) just say NO! and Cancel.. quit out of the Updater.
6. Go back into the program folder and rename the file back to cohupdater.EU and run it again.

Hopefully that should work!

Been suffering with this bug as well, and got so annoyed with it that i've stopped playing my MM's.. Just wish they'd hurry up and fix it

Hi, I know it says "All Servers", but i was just wondering if this is also for UK servers?

Anywhere outside of the UK is not so good for me.. I'm in a wheelchair and have serious medical issues that prohibit me from travelling far Birmingham would be fine as i used to live there, and know most of the places that are wheelchair friendly.

I don't know.. it seems to me that this 'understanding cultural differences' is turning into a 'majority rules' kind of mentality, where of course the US are the majority and everyone else is a minority.

To be honest i'm thinking of never posting on these boards again, it's not like I'll be missed or anything what with all these Americans stating 'welcome to OUR boards' everywhere i look.. To be honest I don't feel welcome at all as they obviously just see this forum as THEIR place (Ok, generalising, but i've seen it a lot). I miss the EU boards. This place is alien and just feels unwelcoming and plain wrong.
