  5. The Jedi Knights Templar will be opening up our CoV equivalent soon after launch under the name The Sith Lords Templar.

Please note that we're NOT a themed SG. Our name is a legacy from our origins in Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy. The new villain name is simply the mirror image of the hero group, so it's a fitting name.

We're recruiting across all ATs: hero and villain. Our only criteria is that one be over the age of 18, a genuine and friendly player that's eager to get along with others (i.e. no immature, whiny players, please), pro-active, and a talented gamer (or at least moderately skilled... the rest we can beat into ya ).

We have a Ventrilo server that's open for use, as well as SG forums and a website.

If you're interested, please feel free to send an email to J'rel Prestoo or L'ral Prestoo (both are my characters), or send a global tell to @J'rel Prestoo or @billnye.

We do our best w/ our numbers to try and organize the occasional SG taskforce, run missions together, badge-hunt, etc. when the level spread allows; any remaining spots are typically filled by friends or the great folks at Victory Forum chat... so it's always a good time had for all.

Feel free to check us out. See you all around Paragon.

    Best wishes,
    J.

OK, Long time listener, first time poster. I have a quick question on the bases. Let's say I join an SG that has a base, but I don't have CoV. Can I still enter the base, or am I simply restricted from building my own base by my lack of CoV ownership? Thanks in advance for any answers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From what I understand, you'll be able to enter your own SG's base w/o having to purchase CoV. You won't be able to participate in base raids OR base building if you haven't already bought it, however.

That's just what I've understood in reading the dev posts.

  7. Noooooo! Say it ain't so!

I say we form a rescue party for ol' Turner. It's the only heroic thing to do.

When the above process fails me, I inflict head wounds upon myself... this never fails.

Self-inflicted head wounds, eh? I'll have to keep that in mind...

I've been setting up Spackle to ding 50 later this afternoon, one year to the day after he was made, and I've been working him all weekend to get ready. I got to say, in the last 48 hours I've been in the hands of some of the greatest folks in the game.

J'rel Prestoo, who gave his services to Spackle immediately for anything he might need to do, including Shard missions filled with level 52 Ruularuu.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *blushes*

    One, it's about darn time.

Two, J always looks forward to hangin' out with Spackle or ANY of the Vox'm... whether it's Sundays in the park, kickin' some Ruularuu butt, or taking on some darn AV that just happened to escape from the Zig AGAIN.

I'll be there for this afternoon/evening's celebration... just dial me up on the comm and tell me where to show up.

    Best,
    J.
  10. Yah, but it would also save cool players w/ the headache of having to deal w/ those who are consistently not cool.

Ain't nuthin' worse than when you try to be a nice person, and it's only met with hostility, anger, dick-ness, and any other range of non-hero reactions... and from total strangers, to boot.

It can be a frustrating experience...

But, agreed, the spirit of this thread is a happy and positive one. Far be it from me to dredge it down. That would certainly NEVER be my intention.

  11. Heheheh, if it weren't so un-couthe, I'd list those who I've encountered that one should never team with on ANY occasion...

But that would be un-couthe, even tho' it's THOSE players that tend to ruin everyone's day, as opposed to those who only make it better and eventually wind up in this thread.

Not to mention that CuppaJo would probably lock any such thread started... not that I can blame her. :P You'd certainly top the list, tho, Onus... jkjkjkjkjkjk, I PROMISE. (I'm drunk at the moment, so I talk friendly s***... ignore me.)

  12. Name: The Jedi Knights Templar

    Website (if any): http://clanjkt.gametek.us/forum/

    Ventrilo server: Yup. Used frequently.

Leader or Recruiting Officers: J'rel Prestoo/XHS-23/Hugues DePayens (founder), dolph, billnye, Hawkbird, Darth Hooligan, L'eau

Preferred Method of contact: Tells, in-game email, [JKT] SG forums.

SG Description: We're a SG of (ideally) older/mature, nice, and open-minded yuksters always seeking out more like-minded individuals in our pursuit of justice. Originally hailing from the Jedi Knight 2/Jedi Academy No Force dueling scene, we moved over to City of Heroes after the Jedi Academy scene become horrendously flooded with cheese-lamers, exploiters, immature jerk-kiddies, and a development staff that could give a crap about their product--and we don't miss it one bit. We plan on expanding into City of Villains when it's released and running the two SGs in tandem, for those who have slightly more evil inclinations. You can usually find at least a small to moderate group of us on nightly, running around and arresting baddies, and we also have a pretty dedicated group on during the day killing things, too (UKers, etc.).

Despite what the name may imply, WE'RE NOT A THEMED SG. Our only theme is that we trust in our members to have an earnest desire to get along with the scene at large, and with each other... that is concern numero uno.

    Best,
    J.

I think time is the biggest help in determining who you would consider "cool" players.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, certainly... and at the risk of offending those who have helped me many times over, I'll abstain from making a list... even though I'm pretty positive that only a few of 'em actually bother to show up and read the boards. :P

I tend to emphasize the people that YOU SHOULD NEVER TEAM WITH ON ANY OCCASION WHATSOEVER, so others can avoid the pains that we've ALL had in dealing w/ crappy teammates.

Overall, Victory is a great community, and there's so many people that deserve to be on this list... some we know, some we haven't gotten a chance to meet yet. I came here from a scene where cheez lamers and jerks were the predominant majority (Jedi Academy), and I just feel fortunate that Quantum Theory from The Fold (the guy who convinced me to finally pick this game up) picked a server that I totally enjoy playing on--and with interesting people to boot.

I can't imagine having picked any other server at this point, and you won't ever catch me playing on any other... except Test, for possible tourneys, etc.

  14. My list:

Anyone who's not an outright annoying a**hole and contributes towards making the game an entertaining experience*... there, now no one should feel excluded.

    J.

    * = Those who play the part of [censored], but are genuine people, should still count themselves as part of the list.
  15. Bwhahaha, but *IIIIIIII* own all the voting machines.

    Exxxxx-cellent.
