The winner of the contest shall receive a free full-body commission by CoH non-player and yet regular commissionee, Nojitsu. You can see her work at her DA page (note some images are NSFW). Although she mainly does female characters in pin-up style poses, I have already talked to her and got her enthusiastic agreement to take on the prize despite the potential of being asked to make robot ninjas.

The contest: You will need to guess a randomly selected country or territory from the CIA World Factbook. See the bar on the top of the linked page saying "Select a country or location". I used a random number generator to give me a page number and its associated country or territory in my hardbound copy of the Factbook is the answer. As in the other contest, I have already PM'd myself the answer.

The Rules:

#0: You don't have to play. If you don't like the rules, prize, theme, etc then just don't worry about it and let the others do it. This has nothing to do with the previous contest and isn't directed towards anyone... it's just how I keep myself from stressing over "What if I did this wrong?" or "What if they don't like this?" If you missed the entry period, I'm sorry and hope things will go better next time.

#1: Initial entries will be accepted between the time of this posting (roughly 6pm CDT) and 6:00pm Central Time Monday, September 28. This is a roughly 24 hour period and gives the evening posters, weekend posters and workday posters (get back to work!) a chance to submit an initial guess. No new players after 6:00 pm CDT Monday Sept 28 will be accepted. The deadline has passed. New entries are closed. Sorry!

#2: You are allowed TWO guesses per 24 hour period between the time of this thread's starting and 6pm CDT on the 26th, 6pm CDT the 29th, etc. You may use both in a single post, post them 12 hours apart, post them ten minutes apart, whatever. Again, "24 hour period" refers to 6pm CDT until 6pm CDT the following day, not your own posting times.

#3: At 6pm CDT (or soon after) each day (starting on the 28th), I'll post a hint if no one has guessed the answer yet. The hint will be something like "Has a population over XX million" which will narrow down the field without making it obvious to anyone with a good knowledge of geography.

#4: The winner will be the first person to guess the country or territory which matches the answer I PM'd to myself. The winner will receive a full body commission as detailed above.

#5: Edited entries are not permitted and will be disqualified.

The double guesses and hints are because the CIA World Fact Book has 266 countries and territories listed and we saw how long it can take just to guess between 1-100 You do not have to put your answer into a phrase although you're certainly welcome to. I will try to keep an accurate list of guessed places but my list is not guaranteed accurate and the first correct guess will be the winner even if you claim I didn't have it listed.

I think that should cover it so start your guessing!

I know this has been asked & answered but I wasn't having luck. I occasionally see a UI screenshot which includes a little box as a permanent part of the UI giving the current percentages for melee defense, ranged defense etc. I think it's only about five lines. Coming the options hasn't helped me find it. Anyone know how to bring it up? Thanks plenty.

I realize this is treading ancient ground but a friend of mine recently started the game and spent the first 10 levels complaining about endurance (on a tank). Then I told him the path to Stamina and the next 10 levels were largely spent on getting the required powers to get (A) a travel power and (B) Stamina at 20. Which meant anywhere from 6-10 levels of not getting any sexy new attacks or nifty things (I say 6-10 because he probably did think the travel powers were cool).

On the plus side, he said Stamina was game changing for him and he's now in his 30's. He also seemed to be getting bored with the office/warehouse door missions but had a blast joining me on some RWZ arcs (thank you, super side kicking!) invading rogue Longbow bases and running around the Shadow Shard fighting pseudo-Positron & pseudo-Manticore.

Another friend who joined had faded away. I think she got tired of the repetitive nature of the early levels between the repeating tile sets and constant breathers between fights. I understand the xp boost is to help address this so I know the devs aren't unaware. Just commenting on my recent experiences.

I used to have less confusing avatars but the one now was my first commissioned piece and so got a nifty-keen spot of honor. Also, it's my signature character or at least as signature as I get since I doubt many people are saying "Holy cats! It's the person who plays that Polish Princess character on Victory!" when they see it.

As discovered by others, you can't use the phrase "Nip it in the bud" in the AE. I'm not sure if the issue is talking about the milk-giving bump thingies or offensive 1940's era slang towards the Japanese.

You can just work around the phrase entirely but there's time when you just want to say "Nip it in the bud".
