  1. There's a Rikti misison out of RWZ (from Levantra, I think) where you have to rescue four people and disarm four Rikti bombs in one of those power station outdoor maps. I always drop it because looking for the last captive citizen on a huge outdoor map full of catwalks and towers is pure tedium.

I remember a large thread before talking about how much the other Rikti RWZ misison where you have to save the generators and rescue the newswoman sucks. There was a dev response in there but did they ever change the mission? I always drop that one as well.

The final Cimerora mission where you have to clear a bajillion Malta from the Rommy map is a perfect storm of things I hate: Malta, large outdoor maps and "kill all" objectives. Drop!

    Prima?

I still have their old Everquest: Kunark guide from ten years ago. It's good reading for the lulz.
  3. I enjoy hangin' with you guys so I'll try to hook up for the other TFs although I'll probably start taking my higher level folks again. I doubt LC can keep up the leveling pace for SP, Citadel, etc without me abandoning my current projects.

So you'll all get to see Rose Veldt in a dinosaur-ballerina theme or whatever in the heck VexXxa comes up with.
  4. I got mine yesterday, too! Wassy must send in batches

I assume we're open to friends and well-wishers joining up. If you ever feel the inclination, a good number of Screenshots & Fan Art forum regulars hang out on global channel "Forum 606" for idle chatter.

417 and I have no idea why that many people would want to view my profile, even allowing for multiple views.

I only ever view someone's profile if they reference something being in their sig (guide, character reference, AE arc #, etc) since I have them turned off for regular forum viewing.
  9. I can run the Lounge Crooner on a Synapse if we're doing one. He'll probably be my next "Get to 50" project after Pachamama anyway (she's 45 now and Rose is 49.5)

I wouldn't be adverse to a "grown up" TF later but I guess we'll see where our enthusiasm level is at after beating up a couple hours' worth of clockworks

Which doesn't seem the case. Without adding up the replies, it looks like 5:2 or 3:1 in favor of "B". A good preference for "B" but hardly a sure thing.
  11. I'm building a new computer and putting Windows 7 on it (currently using XP). I have the ability to buy Home Premium for $30, Win 7 Professional for $40 or Ultimate for $50. I've heard that for my purposes Ultimate is overkill but, from a City of Heroes point of view, is there any reason to choose Professional over Home? Or for that matter Home over Pro (bugs, errors, etc)?
  12. In my slim experience, people like to make DP/NRG blasters (especially the "hit men" and "mercenaries") because NRG is the closest you can get to a melee/martial arts secondary for blasters. So all those hit men and gangsters and cowboys and detectives who want a 'natural' build but don't want a targeting drone circling their head or to be planting land mines go with NRG so they can at least roleplay punching Hellions in the face when they're not shooting them.
  13. I responded more on your dA page but I love it. Very nice capture of her features showing emotion. Thanks!

    Any regrets?

Not taking it upon myself to start teaming earlier. I bought this game pretty much at launch and played for a bit but then quit because it just felt kind of stale. Restarted during a free weekend, played a for a bit then quit for a year or two again. Restarted again last May during a free weekend then... actually started setting my LFT flag and contacting people who were looking for more. Finding out about global channels and joining teams and task forces. It's pushing a year now since I rejoined and I'm still interested in the game, largely because I'm treating it like a social event rather than a single player game.

If people like playing it solo, that's fine. But I was personally more worried about not knowing "enough" that I'd be a liability in a team or not playing well enough or whatever. I'm glad I finally just took the plunge (which was painless) and regret not having done so way back in the day.
  16. "Level 50 ITF Looking For More"

    Do you think:
    (A) This TF is only interested in lvl 50 characters, level 49 and below need not apply
    -or-
    (B) This TF will be led by a lvl 50 so if you're level 36 you'll be raised up and if you're lvl 50, you don't have to worry about being de-leveled to 40 or something.

I asked this on my server's TF channel a while back and got mixed responses so I thought I'd ask the community at large.
  17. Another vote for taking QS, skipping SS and also putting Thunderclap on the skip list.

As for a power to push way back, I'd consider Stone Prison since you can use Stone Cages for much the same effect. I can understand the argument against O2 Boost but frankly I've used it to save the team too many times to want to ditch it. Yeah, it can feel silly spamming O2 Boost on the tank as he stays in the red zone through a difficult fight but sometimes it's the best the team's got.

    I Llama You!!

You want to know what's ridiculously adorable?

    Behold... the Cama!

It's true. Camels and llamas, being distant relatives of one another, can still interbreed (erm, artifically so unless you want a very sad llama). The results of such a union are shown above.

That's true although I'm fairly certain that "Abandoned Warehouse" and "Warehouse" are two separate tilesets, unlike what Commander said. There's actually little reusable between them -- the walls are different images (clean vs rusted), the railings and catwalks have cobwebs on them in the abandoned set, the racks are bent, fallen over and otherwise damaged in the abandoned set, the vending machines and chairs and photocopiers are all ruined looking, etc.

All "warehouses" use the same set but only for the functional, clean warehouses.

There will be two new tilesets (which will be available in the Mission Architect at a later time), one of which players are already familiar with are the tunnels in The Underground, and the second, which they have yet to talk about, is the Praetorian Tech labs.
    Huh.

I suppose I'm glad we're getting any but I guess I was hoping for more of a facelift than that. Oh well, maybe later.

    Pachamama needs llamas.

In fact, we need a Llama Control powerset.

  23. w00t! The US Treasury Department picked today to dump a significant sum of money into my checking account (part of which will be going for a new computer as my late birthday present). Also, we were told we'd only have to work until noon on account of it being Good Friday.

Speaking of, I forgot it was Friday this morning and ate meat after six weeks of following my Lenten restrictions. Mess it up on the last day. Time to hand in my Catholic Card.
  24. Very nice! I like the background touches as well.
  25. My personal favorite was a Council arc about the Vampyri being scientifically transformed soldiers and running through the tunnels just to hear a Zenith hoverbot tell someone "I hope I'm chosen for the Vampyri program".

Rock on with your dreams, little Hoverbot!
