1. Aaaaand here's the HijackThis report... (I did two posts on purpose... Seems this computer or the forum won't let me make posts that are too particularly long)

3. This is seriously starting to piss me off <_<; Every time I try to post my DxDiag and HijackThis reports, I get an error message: The specified URL could not be found
4. Hey, folks... I'm visiting a friend in Oklahoma, and wanted to install City of Heroes on his computer machine... When I first started using it, it was incredibly slow; I've sped it up significantly doing the few things I do to computers that don't worry me, but... I haven't had time to look deeply into any problems.

In any case, I downloaded the Client from PlayNC's Website, but when I double-click it, nothing pops up. CohUpdater.exe begins running in my list of processes, but... Nothing ever comes up on my screen.

Any ideas? Do you guys want a HijackThis? <_<; Any help is appreciated... This computer's specs are soooo much better than mine >_<;
5. A majority of TPers nowadays use the following Keybind:
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre> /bind lshift+lbutton "powexec_name Teleport" </pre><hr />

For a long time, this was the one I used as well, until a speck of dust hit my eye, and I reflexively moved my left hand up to rub it out, resulting in my falling on Lusca and dying...

So, I decided to try something out: what if I set up Keybinds that set up Keybinds? Yeah, you read that right... Here is what I came up with:

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/bind up "bind lbutton "powexec_name Teleport""
/bind down "bind lbutton """ </pre><hr />

With these, I tap the up key once, and all I have to do is left-click anywhere on the screen to move there. I can now drink tea while traveling, or rub my eye while traveling.

The only downside is that I have to hit the Down Arrow to go through doors and such ^_^;

Did you know.....

That Jack "Statesman" Emmert gave a guide to how to use the Blaster inherent power Defiance. Tips included but were not limited to asking the healer not to heal you, taking the alpha to get defiance, and not popping respites when you're in defiance range. Since then the blaster's forum has upheld the belief that the devs don't play blasters, atleast not past 10.

LOL Nice!

*ahem*

In the spirit of assuming that this thread will be read years down the line...

Back in the day (I.E. at the time of the posting of this thread), Swift, Quickness, and Lightning Reflexes did NOT buff Flight Speed. After Enhancement Diversification (which I'm sure you've read about), it was difficult to reach the Flight SPeed cap on your own. At the time of the creating of this post, the patch for Swift, Quickness, and LR is still on the Test Server.
7. Again, I'm not sure if this has been listed, but...

The old Math for powers like Moment of Glory and Elude used to give opponents a NEGATIVE Accuracy, which made it reset to the bottom of the bounds, five percent ToHit. This meant that, no matter how many Accuracy Enhancers an opponent used, they would always only have five percent against Slot Masters such as these.

Origin Specific Temporary Powers used to be Temporary. They would go away at level ten.

Burke did not exist in the City of Villains Beta.

Moment of Glory used to offer Psionic Protection.

Dark Armor's Dark Embrace used to replay the annoying humming sound in a continuous loop.

[joke]

Positron Power-Leveled Statesman to fifty. This is why Statesman is the only Hero to have been captured by his Praetorian Self.

[/joke]
8. I don't recall if it has been mentioned, since it took me three days to balance my Real Life with reading this thread, but...

Origionally, Instant Healing was a Toggle, and 100% Enhancable. The Healing on it was so incredibly powerful, that Regeneration Scrappers used to say, "If you can't kill me with your Alpha, you can't kill me at all." Back at that time, I was able to take on a group of three +10 Malta that had ambushed someone in South Steel. I was unable to kill them, but I could sure hold aggro with my Auto-Hit Confront.

In the City of Villains Beta, the Brute Auto Power "Fury" was called "Rage." This was quickly changed due to the confusion between the Brute Inhearent and the Super Strength Click.

From issues One through Six, Regeneration as a Scrapper Secondary was changed in one way or another.

Dull Pain used to be permanant - that is, you could have the +40% HP Boost at all times.

In a past life, Dull Pain did not greatly benefit from +Healing Enhancements. This was changed later, so that +Healing Enhancements would increase the amount of Hit Points given to you as a buff.

At one point in the history of Changes, Gambler's Cut (Katana Power) was changed twice for Crit Chance. Both times, the former version was called a Bug.
9. It loops...I was wondering how long it would take. That's the most simple fun I've had since Pong.
10. There IS a simple way to do it, but the simple way is time consuming. Give EVERY Power in the game a TINY Knockback component. Then, make it so that it has to be more than that amount to knockback any MOB that is -5 Levels or Higher to the person using the power. This would actually accomplish two things:

1) The Big Red Ball would become possible, if you were to give it a negative number of Knockback Resistance, so that a Broadsword Scrapper using HeadSplitter and something that increases Magnitude of KB would knock the ball against a wall. Using current CoH Programs, the ball would not bounce, true, but it could still be knocked around.

2) When a Lv. 50 Hero goes into Atlas Park to play with the MOBs in areas that nobody goes to, every single power will send the MOB sprawling, as if he were hit with extreme power. Makes more sense that way, anyway.

Besides, I recently noticed a Bug when fighting Lusca that had a Car in the water. When my Character bumped into the Car, the Car went flying. I haven't seen it since, but I know it wasn't on my end, because someone else told me that it was "cool".

To The Devs: You guys are doing a WONDERFUL Job!! In all of the MMOs I've played, this one has the Fewest annoying bugs, the most beautiful design, and IMHO, is the most fun. It may take some time, but if you could just assign one Programmer to the task for awhile, he could even create his own "Test" server of sorts, and mod himself up with all kinds of powers. Time consuming? Extremely. Worth it? Well...Just ask the people who have posted here
11. From the beginning of the game, and on, Broadsword / Regeneration Scrappers have been considered, albeit arguably, the greatest Scrapper Combo. My main is a Brd/Regen Scrapper, and with extensive testing over the year I've been in the game, I am very confident in writing this overview/guide.

What follows is an overview of the specific powers - nobody can tell you how to build your character.

Broadsword

Power: Hack
Level: One
Description: Hack is a damn good attack. It is one of the most damaging Level-One Attacks I have seen in the game to-date. Smite is up there with it, but Smite is a little weaker. Hack deals straight damage, and has a pretty cool animation. This is one attack that you will definitely use for the rest of your career. However, unlike the NumberCrunchers in this game, I do not suggest taking this at your level one power.

Power: Slash
Level: One
Description: Slash is the one I suggest for level one. It's a straight-up damager, with a faster recharge than Hack. It deals about half the damage of Hack, but also recharges in half the time. As a gamer, I am aware that it is almost always best to take the power that will cost the least - Mana/End, Recharge Time...

What power to take at level one? I will suggest Slash. Hack will often one-shot even-cons at level one, true, however, if you miss, you have to wait twice as long for the power to come back, and with Brawl and the new Temp Powers, it just isn't worth the wait.

Power: Slice
Level: Two
Description: Slice is another 'staple' power - one you will most likely be using for the rest of your career. Slice will deal damage to a few enemies who are right in front of you - this is described as a wide cone, but as it has no range, I just call it a Slice. So, sue me.

Power: Build Up
Level: Six
Description: Build Up is a niceity, not necessity. It is a major +Dmg, and a not-so-major +Acc. It only lasts ten seconds, though, so it's only good for a maximum of three attacks, if you click it at just the right time. Its recharge makes it good for Alphas, but it can never be relied upon in battle. It's not a power I often take - I had it for ten levels, and loved it, but when I dropped it, I didn't miss it.

Power: Parry
Level: Eight
Description: Parry is a very nice power. It provides an awesome Defense Boost, which coupled with Regeneration, is awesome for survivability. For the eight levels I had it, I loved the power itself, but I cannot stand the Animation. With Katana, it seems to be the opposite - I like Divine Avalanche, but I don't like Gambler's Cut. If you want to skip Slash, this is the power to take in its stead.

Power: Confront
Level: Twelve
Description: The Devs and Programmers want you to believe that this power may save another Hero's life. It won't. No, no...Really...It won't. If you want a Single-Target Pull, this is the power. If you want a Taunt, pick up Provoke - this is the one of those few times I will offer commanding advice.

Power: Whirling Sword
Level: Eighteen
Description: Whirling Sword is an awesome power. It does an Open Wounds type thing, which results in its final damage being higher than that of Slash - if you exclude the Wounding, its damage is exactly that of Slash's. Whirling Sword is an extremely nice PBAoE (Player-Based Area of Effect), and I would easily trade it out for Slash if it didn't have the jump-and-spin animation that just doesn't fit my character concept. Nevertheless, I still have it, and use it every time I have a lot of enemies near me. It's just that nice.

Power: Disembowel
Level: Twenty-Six
Description: Disembowel is just awesome. There is no other word to describe it. Now, given, it is not as nice as Head Splitter or Fulcrum Shift, but it's still really cool. From damage to animation, this is a power I simply love. There's even a red vortex (vortex: a red verticle tube-like circle of energy) that goes along with the hit, and a powerful KnockUp effect. I once knocked up a Freakshow Tank...Just, ya know. Not in the bad way.

Power: Head Splitter
Level: Thirty-Two
Description: On the Triumph Server, I had not been able to get Colin the Dove high enough to try out Head Splitter. After moving to Virtue, I got it. Right after I got it, I did not stop playing Colin for nearly a week straight - Head Splitter was six-slotted with one Accuracy and five Damage, back when that was uber. My God, the Damage Output! Head Splitter is a beautiful attack. If you don't get this at thirty-two, you are just insane. It also has a bright red Vortex, like Disembowels, but it utalizes Super Strength's Punch animation...And it has a narrow cone, described as projecting energy through enemies. After being hit with a Fulcrum Shift, I was able to deal a single Critical Hit that killed a Purple-Con Boss level Enemy, at just over 1200 Damage...

Broadsword Overview Broadsword is an extremely nice set of damage output. I am pleased that it was my starting Scrapper - no other set really compares IMHO.

Attack Slotting Suggestion If you are going the Broadsword / Regeneration route, I suggest slotting ALL of your Broadsword attacks as thus: Acc/Acc/Dmg/Dmg/Dmg/RechRed. If, however, you are picking some OTHER secondary, I suggest going Acc/Dmg/Dmg/Dmg/EndRedux/RechRed. Either way, your Damage will be incredible, and you simply won't miss as much as other sets - Broadsword has a 5% Accuracy Boost, remember?

Regeneration

Power: Fast Healing
Level: One
Description: Fast Healing, contrary to popular Number Cruncher opinion, is a really nice power. It's a decent Healing Boost, without being a click or toggle that drains Endurance - which is important to a Scrapper, whose attacks do take some Endurance to pull off. This is a good power to three-slot.

Power: Reconstruction
Level: Two
Description: Reconstruction is a VERY nice Self-Heal. A quarter of your HP every minute unslotted; at three each Recharge Redux and Heal Enhancer, Recon will give you about half your HP every thirty-some-odd seconds. The ONLY Self Heal in this game I consider better than Recon is Dark Regeneration - and only after it has been slotted for Endurance. Having said that, it is my opinion that you can skip Reconstruction until as late as your late Twenties, at which point you will have a few more spare slots, as well as SO's.

Power: Quick Recovery
Level: Four
Description: Quick Recovery (QR) is an extremely nice Endo Recovery Boost. This is why you can skip the Endurnace Reducers in your attacks - well, this, and Stamina. You will not want to wait for SO's to pick up this power - by the time you hit twelve, you will likely have some light Endurance Problems, depending on the number of attacks you have, and how fast you burn through your chain.

Power: Dull Pain
Level: Ten
Description: Dull Pain (DP) is a wonderful Self Heal, but is also a powerful Hit Points Buff. DP should be slotted similar to Reconstruction (Three Rech/Three Heal), but if you cannot find a place to pull from for that third Healing Enhancer, it's no great loss. DP will boost your HP amount by ~40%, assuming you use it when you have ~70% HP, and it is unslotted for Healing. I have not tested this thoroughly, so that information is not my own. It is an excellent power to have, but only arguably necessary.

Power: Integration
Level: Sixteen
Description: If you don't take this power at level sixteen, you should roll a new character...Integration is a GodSend, as they are called. It provides a wonderful HP Regen Boost, as well as Mez Protection. You will want this three-slotted for Healing Increase as soon as you can. You will not likely have this off for the rest of your career - unless you just happen to be using Moment of Glory at the time.

Power: Resilience (Formerly Called "Resilience Disorient")
Level: Twenty
Description: Even I, a non-NumberCruncher say that Resilience was a mistake. It provides a small Resistance to Smashing and Lethal Damage. Where this power REALLY shines, though, is when you are using an Awaken - you hardly feel the Disorient! I loved this power all the way to level thirty-five, at which point I picked up Revive. Resilience is an excellent power to get if you either plan on dying a lot, or don't plan on picking up Revive. The Smashing/Lethal/Toxic Resistance is negligable.

Power: Instant Healing
Level: Twenty-Eight
Description: Before Issue Six, Instant Healing (IH) was a toggle power that would drain heavily on Endurance, but gave an INCREDIBLE Healing Boost. It was this power that made the Regeneration Scrappers the Tankers of Hamidon. Basically, while this was on, if you didn't one-shot a Regen Scrapper, you have already lost. Post I-6, I was pissed, and dropped IH from my build entirely. I have seen it in action, thanks to Xx Blade xX (my best friend, in game), and am therefore looking to get it back in my build again. It will provide an excellent Heal Rate Boost for exactly sixty seconds, and when it drops, there are no side-effects - it is everything a Tier-Nine Power should be, albeit shortened. I will update this guide when I have had IH for a little while.

Power: Revive
Level: Thirty-Five
Description: This power makes Resilience a moot point. It used to suck, but it was buffed in (I5? I6?), and is now a wonderful power, if you didn't just die in the middle of a spawn of orange or red cons. You hit this power, and you will stand up with 75% HP and 50% End. As a Regener, if you hit Integration before they have you at 25% Health, then you can escape and rest, and you'll be fine. It is an EXCELLENT power, IMHO - and it doesn't require any slots, at that! One Recharge, or if you like to die (like myself), Two recharges. Nothing else.

Power: Moment of Glory
Level: Thirty-Eight
Description: Moment of Glory is very underrated. This is almost always the power I hit right after Revive - most people see it as a reason to prepare for Revive, I see it as Moment of Vengeance. The activation animation is AWESOME, and the power itself is excellent. If you only have two slots to spare for this power, that is enough. I suggest slotting this power with two Defense Enhancements, one Resistance Enhancement, and however many Recharge Reducers you feel like. Just remember to use it sparingly - you WILL still die, if you are crazy about it.

Regeneration Overview Regeneration is an excellent set, all-in-all, with quite a number of Skippable Powers. The Skippable Powers is a useful tool, because it gives you more room for Pool Powers and Attack Powers. What powers are skippable, you ask? Dull Pain, Resilience, Instant Healing, Revive, and Moment of Glory - more than half the set. Now, I don't SUGGEST skipping Dull Pain by any means - but if you feel you can do without it, then you CAN.

Suggested Pool Powers

Health from the Fitness Pool; three-slotted Health is a nice boost to your HP Regeneration. As a general rule, increase your strength.

Stamina from the Fitness Pool; if you use an Endurance Hog Primary (like Broadsword), this power is an excellent complement for Quick Recovery.

Tough from the Fighting Pool; Tough provides a decent Smashing/Lethal Resistance boost, and is another toggle to activate, since activating just Integration is boring. If you decide to take Tough, then you should definitely take...

Weave from the Fighting Pool; coupled with Tough, your survivability sky rockets. Tough, Weave, Health, Integration, Fast Healing, and Reconstruction make you a Demi-God as a Scrapper.
12. ...TopDoc = Master of Numbers
13. ...Long title, huh?

In this guide to editing Joe Chott's CoH Planner, I will only refer to those things which can be edited easily, and NOT the program itself. Nobody has a right to edit the program. Even the AT Data Files I am not sure about...But, whatever. First, you will want to locate the file in which you have saved CoH Planner, and the file called coh_planner_normal. From there, open the file AT_Data, and you will get a list of the Archetypes in a Notepad Format. Open up the one you want to edit, or you can even create a new one.

Be very careful when editing these files. A space in the wrong place is a syntax error, and will result in the CoH Planner telling you it doesn't work.

--------------------

AT_NAME I'm not sure if it is case sensative, but if you are creating a new file, better safe than sorry. After typing in AT_NAME, you will want to type the name of the Archetype exactly as you want it to appear in CoH Planner.

AT_LEVEL_SLOTS At level three, a Hero will get two slots to place in their powers. This is that number. This will list, in order, the Level and Slot Number you get. For instance, the first ten levels: 3;2,5;2,7;2,9;2
Notice that the Security Level number comes first, and is separated from the number of slots by a Semi-Colon. After writing down the Level Number semi-colon Number of Slots, write a Comma, and continue from there.

PRIMARY_SECONDARY_LISTING In this area, you will list every Primary Tree and Secondary Tree your Archetype has. Take note: the Primarys are listed in order, and separated by Semi-Colons, and are separated from the Secondarys by a single comma. If a Primary or Secondary is multiple words long, you may put a space between the words making up the name, without any Syntax error. But do not forget to use Semi-Colons and Commas

PRIMARY This is the name of the Primary Powerset that has the powers you will be editing in a second. Simply put, if you are going to edit a Primary Powerset, this is where you go to edit it. Spaces, again, are allowed.

SECONDARY The same as PRIMARY, but for Secondary Powersets. These two commands will effect the drop-down list you choose from. CoH Planner will always automatically select the first power in a secondary tree.

POW_NAME The name of the Power, specifically, you are editing.

POW_DESC This is the power Description provided in City of Heroes(tm)

POW_DETAIL This is the power Detail provided in the game - specifically, if you right-click a power and select Info, you will recieve both the Power Description and Power Detail. The Description is the long paragraph, while the Detail is, for instance, Click Minor Energy Damage, Foe -Res. In order to break the Detail over lines, use the \ key.

POW_ACC The power's Accuracy Rating. 0 is base Accuracy, or 75%. Each number after or before that, I.E. 5 or -5, will add or subtract from 75%.

POW_ACT How long the power takes to activate

POW_END How much Endurance the power takes. For toggles, add "/s" to the end of the number.

POW_DUR How long the power effects enemies. If not applicable, leave it blank.

POW_RCG How many seconds it takes the Power to recharge

POW_RNG The range of the power. IIRC, the Range of most blasts is ~75, and the range of most Melee Attacks is ~5

POW_BI Syntax is as follows: DmgType (Brawl Index) For Example: Lethal(0.75*4)

POW_DEF How much Defense the power offers. Note that CoH Planner does not take Damage-Specific defenses and put them on its Def/Res Page. To see a Power's Defense, press the Tab key until you get to the right window. MoG's Defense Number: "Scrapper(AoE(80),Melee(80),Ranged(80))" Note the AT Name followed by the Type of Defense, followed by the Number. Parenthesis are important, but leave out the Quotes.

POW_RES How much Damage Resistance a power offers. This is specific to damage types. MoG's Resistance Numbers: "Scrapper(Lethal(71),Smashing(71)," et cetera. Again, note the AT Name, Damage Type, and Resistance Number. Parenthesis are important, but leave out the quotes.

POW_MAG The magnitude of the Power, if applicable. Not sure why this is even here.

POW_ENH The Enhancements the power accepts. For a list of Enhancement Names, open up the Enhancement_Translation file, and use the written words.

LEVEL The level at which the Power becomes available for selection.

--------------------
The best way to learn the rest is to mess around with the pre-existing AT Files, and edit some of the information you know is wrong. As soon as I feel like not being lazy anymore, I am going to finish editing my Sonics and Archery Blaster Powersets with the correct Brawl Index numbers...Sometime.
14. Phaedrus; I'm not sure what the Strike Forces are or how to balance a team with the Villain Archetypes. My guide may not work for any of the villains, it may work for all of them; that is why I did not include their AT names within my guide itself.

Thank you all for your feedback so far ^_^; I'm surprised I wasn't negatively flamed right off the bat!
15. You misunderstand, Ms. Thawed; I have no need of leveling, as you stated; I was simply lucky enough to have been able to do this. A lot of what is in this guide may be used as a pre-arranged ordeal, I.E. you want to create a new character, and get that character past the most boring low levels as quickly as possible. That being the case, this would be the most effecient way to do so...

And again, not every AT actually NEEDS any of the powers I gave; those were just my suggestions. For instance, if an Invuln Tanker were to join the Positron Task Force, he obviously wouldn't have Invincibility at level Twelve, and if he didn't have Taunt, he could still punchvoke entire groups.

And, I agree, the landscape of the game has changed quite a bit since then

Thank you both for your constructive posts. For the most part, this is just one of those instance guides that really can't work most of the time, but for that small part of the time, it's incredibly useful. Mainly, I was trying to get across the best ways to hunt through the lower levels, as well as a few Positron Task Force Pointers.

My whole family plays the game, with me being the official nerd; the four of us together were able to emulate the full team of eight. My mother played the Controller, and used her secondary as the Defender as well, while my father played the Tanker, my brother played the Blaster, and I played the Scrapper.
16. I promise this is the only bump I will ever do to my own post...Does nobody have anything to say?
17. I was once enough of a Hardcore Power-Gamer to make it to Security Level Twenty in a single day (Nineteen Hours, relatively) of Game Play. To this day, to my knowledge, that feat has never been repeated; and even my talking about it is met with much skepticism. I'm an insomniac, so I played from when I woke up, 5:00 AM, to the time I was sleepy enough to fall asleep, 2:15 AM. I gave myself a window of fifteen or twenty minutes, spent in the Restroom, and as I ate at my computer desk, two meals, that didn't matter. This guide has been written so that one may repeat my feat.

Who this guide WILL work for: Scrappers, Tankers (the balanced type), Blasters, and Kheldians
Who this guide MAY work for: Controllers, Offenders (primar-oriented Defenders)
Who this guide PROBABLY WON'T work for: Primary Oriented Defenders, Secondary Oriented Controllers

Note for Scrappers: You will want three attacks by Security Level Six, excluding Brawl.
Note for Tankers: Don't pick up Taunt until ten or twelve, and you want to attacks by level six, excluding brawl.

Part I: The Early Levels
Skip the Tutorial. I know you get your first level there, but skip it. I clocked the Tutorial at ten minutes, from the time the Zone Load finished until the time I finished loading Atlas Park. On a crowded Saturday, while playing normally, I made it to level two in just under three minutes. With Cable Internet.

At level one, leave the Plaza, and search for Yellow (+1-Minions) Conning Enemies. Kill them until you reach level two. I suggest picking up your second attack at this point, because you need the offense. Continue to hunt ONLY yellow-cons until you reach level six, only going to level up on even levels. After level six, hunt orange-conning enemies until you reach level eleven. Don't waste time buying TO's, except Accuracy Enhancements for your attacks.

When you reach level Eleven, go see your first contact, but don't get a mission from him/her. In stead, get the Contact Info for Contact #2. Go see him/her, likely in KR, but don't collect the mission. If available, get your THIRD Contact, who you should get a Level 10 to do missions. If they don't give you the option, well...Head to the Hollows to do missions. But first, you want to see a Hero Corp Field Analyst, and set your difficulty to Rugged or Unyielding, preferrably Rugged. You want to balance XP with debt, and try not to die.

Continue to do missions until you reach twelve; it shouldn't take too long. As fast as you can, go to Steel or Skyway and obtain Dual Origin Enhancements, slotting more for Accuracy than Damage; at least two Accuracies in any power that can take them, excluding Brawl.

Now, head to Blyde Square. It'll start getting difficult soon (for those of you who aren't thinking that much while reading my wonderful guide, go read the part above this, and tell me it's easy. I dare ya.)

Part II: Positron
If you looked at my guide's title and immediatly said, 'Task Forces,' you were correct in your assumption. Positron, by far the most difficult Task Force to start IMHO, is the word of the hour. What you want to do is get an eight-man team (yes, full team, it will increase spawns, I know), and keep it BALANCED!! My team was thus: a Blaster (Fire/Fire), a Controller (Gravity/Kinetics), two Defenders (Empathy&amp;Force Fields), a Scrapper (myself, Broadsword/Regeneration), a Tanker (Fire/Super Strength), and one of each Peacebringer and Warshade. Have every member of your group set their difficulty to Tenacious, the difficulty setting just under Heroic, one step up in difficulty.
My Suggested Team <ul type="square"> [*]One Blaster, with at least one AoE Attack[*]One Controller, with one AoE Hold, and more than one Secondary Power[*]Two Complementary Defenders, I.E. Empathy and (Dark Miasma, Force Fields, Sonic Resonance, Kinetics), Force Fields and Sonic Resonance, or Kinetics and Radiation Emission. You know, keep all your Bases covered[*]One Scrapper, who deals damage (read: not Claws. Claws=weak)[*]One Tanker, either Fire or Stone, with Taunt, and the PBAoE Aggro Grabber
As I recall, the first mission is the most difficulty, consisting of only purple-conning enemies. However, if your Controller has an AoE Hold, and your Tanker has Taunt, you should be able to do it with little or no death (our Controller had Crushing Field, with three or four Accuracy DO's in it, and our Tanker has Taunt, and Blazing Aura). Here's a layout of the battle:
<ul type="square">[*]Defender buffs all players up. For the Long Recharge buffs, buff the Tanker.[*]The Tanker goes in, and ONLY the Tanker, and uses his Taunt. Empathy or Kinetics spam Heals on him, Dark Miasma uses Tar Patch, et cetera. NOBODY ELSE does ANYTHING. If the Tanker dies, Recall and Rez him, and try again.[*]The Tanker is the Wo/Man of the Moment for this Task Force. His/Her job is to hold aggro, by spamming Taunt, keeping his/her Aura up (assuming s/he has a PBAoE Toggle), and Punchvoking everything in sight.[*]At the earliest, when the Tanker fires a second Taunt, the Controller should fire an AoE Lockdown, and hit as many enemies as possible. DO NOT ATTACK YET. The Tanker recollects his aggro, using Taunt, his/her Aura, and Punchvoke, and then the Controller fires off the AoE Lockdown again, at which point the Blaster or Offender releases their most potent AoE's. Rain of Fire, then Fire Ball is excellent damage. And then, the group cleans up what's left.[*]Rinse and Repeat for every fight. The Scrapper has to practice patience; I had to lead my team.
Question: Why wait until everything gets fired twice?
Answer: The Tanker will have a difficult time holding Aggro as it is. S/he MUST have it ALL before the Controller fires the AoE Lockdown, or the Controller will be dead before the animation is done. And since we don't want all the enemies running away before they die, we want the Controller to fire off the Hold twice.

By the end of the Task Force, you should be level sixteen. Good XP within, eh? And, you have a new Positron TF Strategy to boot! Wait, sixteen? You know what that means, right? You have your travel power now, so head on over to Skyway City, and...

Part III: Synapse
That's right! ANOTHER Task Force! W007! Yay...joy...*sigh.* Assuming your team has been disbanded, as ours was, begin to hunt for another one.
My Suggested Synapse Group:
<ul type="square">[*]One Blaster, Any Kind[*]One Controller, Any Kind[*]One Defender, whatever kind makes your team happy -_-;[*]Two Scrappers, one of which should be /Dark for his Obsidian Shield[*]One Tanker[*]Maybe a Kheldian or two...if you can find 'em...
If your Scrapper is a /Regeneration Scrapper with Integration, ask him to take Confront at level eighteen. If your Scrapper is /Dark with Obsidian Shield having a decent slotting, BEG him to take Confront at eighteen.

Go through Task Force Swift as swiftly as you can, killing everything that gets too close to your group, pwning Babbage, until you get to the Clockwork King. This fight will be really difficult.

Ask your Tanker to go in first, but NOT to Taunt the Clockwork King directly. Once he has gathered up the aggro of all of the little Clockwork, have the /Dark or /Regen Scrapper go in and start spamming Confront on the Clockwork King. Your Defender should do his or her best to keep both of them alive while the rest of the team clears out the smaller Clockwork that are on your Tanker.

Nuke the crap out of the Clockwork King, and clear the building. I finished the Task Force at level Twenty-One, and almost fell asleep on my keyboard. The next morning, I set my difficulty up one notch to Rugged, and soloed a few Striga missions until level Twenty-Two. SO's, baby!! Scrappers CUT!!

My main is currently level Thirty-Nine, today is 11/07/2005, and I am off to do some Heroic Deeds. Good luck, all!!

Post-Production Notes: <ul type="square">[*]I did all of this in Issue 4, back when Integration was still a 200% Boost in Healing, and pre-Enhancement Diversification[*]At no point in the Power Gaming Session was there included Herding, or any other form of 'Godliness' in the game. We were a team!
I believe this is the relaxed position that your toon auto adopts when there is no direction input from the key board... and they aren't in combat mode...

Or, someone may have DCed while they were holding the +up button they had...Resulting in the "I'm going up" animation, but since they weren't REALLY going up, they just appeared to be straigh verticle in the air...
