Trouble with Installation
Definitely post your specs and a hijack, but you might also want to seek help in the Technical area too
Please read my FEAR/Portal/HalfLife Fan Fiction!

First thing I've thought of without knowing the specs is firewall settings. Make sure either Windows firewall or his installed firewall software is set to allow communications from CoHUpdater.exe.
Hope this helps!

This is seriously starting to piss me off <_<; Every time I try to post my DxDiag and HijackThis reports, I get an error message: The specified URL could not be found
DxDiag is too long and very few of us know how to read it. CoH Helper was made to take it's place.
Check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines
Then post the results of these two programs in the tech forum:
<ul type="square">[*]CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
[*]HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

Yeah. This forum limits the length on posts.
Anything beyond a certain length and it simply errors out. Discovered this trying to post a detailed MIDS output.
Best bet is to break the offending data into two posts.
Is there Windows Blinds (a windows skinner) running? If yes disable it.
Don't think any computer need four anti-virus programs running.

Safety in numbers? *chuckles*
Hey, folks... I'm visiting a friend in Oklahoma, and wanted to install City of Heroes on his computer machine... When I first started using it, it was incredibly slow; I've sped it up significantly doing the few things I do to computers that don't worry me, but... I haven't had time to look deeply into any problems.
In any case, I downloaded the Client from PlayNC's Website, but when I double-click it, nothing pops up. CohUpdater.exe begins running in my list of processes, but... Nothing ever comes up on my screen.
Any ideas? Do you guys want a HijackThis? <_<; Any help is appreciated... This computer's specs are soooo much better than mine >_<;
