(grav' troller) ... lols, wasn't me! It must of been some trick arrow shenanigans by the blaster...ya ya that's it!

Your lighting and color choices always make your characters look so rich and vivid - GREAT work!

Quote:Yeah!i would not interpret what is happening in this thread as a jacking, its clarification for your benefit. I would also be careful if i were you not to offend folks who are trying to help you improve.
(...and it's not often we can use anatomical Latin jargon like the [sympysis] pubis.)
However, I do apologize if you feel thread jacked. -
Quote:Wait...there was an Ice Slick somewhere in that pile o' doom? hehe...yup, fun times indeed!I'll be rocking on Wednesday.... oh wait.... wrong kind of rocking.
Wednesdays are typically date night for me... but since the both of us are on vaca most of this week, I /might/ be able to convince the bf to run one of his Virlowbies.
I almost felt bad whenever you dropped Ice Slick - there was nothing left to flop around once it dropped.
Fun times. -
I like the pencil work - solid poses that really show off the costumes well!
-
Heh. Well thanks for clarifying which pubis you were referring to.
And in regards to splitting hairs, the bend would be slightly higher on male versus female figures since the female pelvic region in general is shaped/positioned differently, i.e. lower and wider. -
Quote:"In human anatomy or in mammals in general, the mons pubis (Latin for "pubic mound"), also known as the mons veneris (Latin, mound of Venus) or simply the mons, is the fatty tissue lying above the pubic bone of adult women, anterior to the symphysis pubis. The mons pubis forms the anterior portion of the vulva, and limits the perineal region proximally and anteriorly." - wikipediaOne simple rule of thumb is that the pubis is roughly the halfway point of the entire figure. Some people with have shorter/longer legs or torso, but it won't be a huge deviation from the norm. This is also just about the area where the bend line between the torso and legs are.
Or in layman terms (and if your not a girl) the "crotch" or "groin" is the halfway point for an illustrated human that is based on a 8 1/2 head model. But even with that said, slightly above that (the hips) would be a more true halfway point.
Anyways, I think the rendering of Kiarra's facial expression was done very well. -
Quote:Thank you good sir.Yes.
Somehow we ended up with two threads and the important one slipped to the second page... Wessy also edited the first page of the neglected one to reflex the topic - Find it here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=203932
Oh, and feel free to top the post to get it backon the front page! -
Quote:WHAT!?! It would be so kick-@$$ to be able to shoot lightning bolts out of my hands. Of course, if a had the power to turn my chest into breasts I may never leave the house - so you may have a point Foo!This is the answer people seem to give the most, but I don't think it's actually true. I think it's just a way to be humorously defensive about it to forestall any accusations of homosexuality.
I would point out that it is probably the people that ONLY play one gender that are the ones that have some sort of gender hangup. It's perfectly cool to play a dude that shoots lightning from his hands, but being a chick is weird? That's messed up, man.
I personally don't care if people play cross-gendered comic hero/heroine roles. But in regards to my reasons for being interested in comic-themed MMOs like this may stem from a childhood "hang-up". I would watch cartoons like the Super Friends (or a modern equivalent Justice League) as a kid and put on my Underoo Batman shirt and run through the house pretending to be Batman. It just never occurred to me to dress up like Wonderwoman. So with that said, I approached this game from a "concept" perspective of making heroes I think would be cool if I could have super powers - hence guy toons since I am a guy. Now whether or not VexXxa really does enjoy looking at guy toons is besides the point.
Quote:While I don't share in the Y chromosome pool, I decided to take a closer look at the male walk emote. I gotta say, and back me up on this Y chromosome people, the male walk emote absolutely pales in comparison to the female walk emote.
The female walk just oozes confidence and a sexy swagger. The male walk has no swagger, no sex appeal, no oompf...no...nothin'. In fact, if you speed up the walk emote animation, it may appear the male is clenching his butt cheeks together trying to find a restroom.
I'm jus' sayin' -
Great gifts Bayani and nice colors Eddy! I like the tree leaf details and you really pulled off the "lace" effect well on VexXxa's abs.

Did I miss the official topic for this months FArt competition?

Quote:Damn, didn't see this one the first time I read through this. I agree Caemgen. If the butt staring and sexy walk were the only reason they were playing the game... Well, there's much better websites for that kind of viewing
I think the butt staring argument only applied for all that time between missions, running from one to the other, etc.. Most of the time, while in actual combat, I assume they're not still but staring... And if they are, they really should check out those websites I mentioned - they'd probably be more effective for 'em
VexXxa just wanted to know if the guy-girl players wear ladies underwear to help their RP skills... -
Quote:Hmmm...so a male character is typically a caricature, but a woman with max-chest slider is just normal?...um, "interesting" ya ya...I approve of this analysis. TnA FTW.Because women are more interesting. I don't view MMO characters as being digital representations of myself, I view them as characters and I am writing/controlling how their situations play out. And I've always preferred movies/TV shows with female protagonists, they are almost always more interesting than male protagonists, in my opinion: Buffy, Dollhouse, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil (the movies), even Alice in Wonderland, and the Wizard of Oz. The male and huge characters that I do make have all been caricatures rather than characters. I believe I have yet to make a male character with a normal face.
^Plays only dude toons - because the ladies want their (beef)cake and eat it too. -
Quote:How is that a poem? Because it's written in stanzas? It's not poetic to talk in normal language and pretend it's prose. I don't mean to be rude, but that reads more like a prayer... yes I got up on the wrong side of the bed today. And another thing, her birthday is 4 days away... whoa, I am on a roll. Let me try again...
How is that a poem?
Because it's written in stanzas?
It's not poetic to talk
in normal language
and pretend it's prose.
I don't mean to be rude,
but that reads more
like a prayer...
yes I got up
on the wrong side
of the bed today.
And another thing,
her birthday is 4 days away...
whoa, I am on a roll.
Let me try again...

Okay seriously. Happy 31 and GK, I'm sorry I really like good poetry, and I really don't like bad poetry. Or bad prose masquerading as poetry. Or rhyming in poetry. Or laundry lists trying to be poetry. Poetry is about the beauty of language, not about wishing someone Happy Birthday... it can be, but it often fails to be. Thoughts on a Friendship, could be about your dog, what makes anything you say there reveal that it's Envee you're speaking about. Think about it. In the words of Daffy Duck, "Try it again you darn bunny!!!" No offense intended.
Also - I insist anyone who responds to me negatively, do so in Iambic Pentameter...
D@mn you LJ...I just blew my soda out my nose and all over my keyboard! -
SWEET!
Thanks all...I dig the vid GK.
And a special thanks to VexXxa for starting this thread. -
Quote:LMAO!Bah humbug, this is just amateur night anyways...
I'll either be online, sleeping or rearranging furniture. But you youngins have fun and be safe... Remember to wrap that rascal and call a cab for a safe getaway...
...but watching amateurs can still be fun too.
