    Teleport Self

I find 3-slotting Teleport for 1-end, 2-range really provides for great ease in getting around. Fast and doesn't leave you gasping for breath.

  2. Some good feedback in this thread.

I'll add that doing missions for your contacts will "open" them as sources of inspirations. Now, some people might scoff and say, "Hey, I can always go to Pocket D or Ouroboros to pick up inspirations." However, if you happen to be exemplaring to play with friends and what not, then having one of your "old" contacts nearby can save you grief.

And if the toon you're playing turns out to become your favorite that you play quite frequently, then you can come to regret not having "opened up" some of those contacts when you were in the early-game, mid-game, and end-game.

  3. You're welcome, Belle. Thank you for highlighting what a fun evening Friday was. We have a good team.

  5. For those that have never tried the Eden Trial before, then signing up for these teams is a good idea. There are rather surreal aspects to the story, and we're not speed running.

  6. Teaming with friends is essentially what we're doing on Tuesday nights as well. In contrast, I find it tedious to (say) farm around a given zone in search of a particular type of enemy.

    -Johnny
  7. I was aware of the badges for pillboxes. Myself, I dislike farming a given activity. It's more pleasant to obtain these badges through the course of regular play with friends (i.e., task forces, contact missions, and so forth). &lt;smile&gt;

  8. Restoring Atlas Past!

    Tuesday June 30th 8:30pm EST (7:30pm CST) (5:30pm PST)
Meet in Recluse's Victory at the Longbow base
Team Lead is Taxibot Vixen ( @Taxibot Vixen )

This is a Recluse's Victory activity, which pits Good versus Evil for control of a potential future for Primal Earth. This future is determined by the capture and control of several Temporal Anchors, each defended by a pillbox. The Paragon Taxi Service is organizing teams to restore the timeline, and to prevent Arachnos from advancing their war machine. Whether or not you are a taxi, assist us in deterring the Arachnos forces!

<ul type="square">[*]Minimum level is 40, with everyone at an effective level of 50. In addition to getting badges for defeating AVs, we will collect exploration badges whilst we're there.
[*]The entrance to Recluse's Victory is through Atlas Park. If you've never been there before, then rest assured that our teams are organized and we will give you guidance.
[*]Make sure you arrive early because we are starting at the designated time. If you post your toon name in this thread, then we'll know you're coming and be able to locate you quickly (you're effectively reserving your spot).
[*]It would be good if a red-side team works on pillboxes as well, thereby providing competition for "winning the zone."[/list]

TCM_doc: I am really new to this game. Just started 3 days ago.
    I play on Virtue server.
One thing I've noticed is that I cannot find a group.
I had a group running 3~4 runs of AE team then we went to sleep.
However, yesterday and today I have had no luck at all.
Is it because I am playing at a later schedule?

    PST 9:00pm~12:00am ish.

What are your suggestions for me so that I will have an easier time to find an AE team?

<ul type="square">[*]You are in an awkward time slot because a lot of people are winding down their sessions around the time that you're starting.[*]Regardless, at the top of your chat window, you can set your teaming flag to either "Looking for any" or "Looking for team." Actually, how much would people pay for the right to choose the name that Smurphy would go by under the new forum system?

What exactly did you think the first post was asking?

The first time I read Smurphy's post, I thought he was selling the name "Smurphy" due to the goodwill and sheer market terror that the name can inspire.

  11. Taxibot Badge Tour

    Date: Friday June 26th
Start time: Approx. 9:30pm EST (8:30pm CST) (6:30pm PST)
Tour Duration: About 2 hours (so ends perhaps 11:30pm EST)

A Badge Tour is a Taxibot team activity, where Taxibots take position by each of the Exploration Badges in a blue-side zone. Heroes are then teleported to each location in quick succession, and a complete tour requires only about 1-2 minutes.

We'll decide the zones on Friday when we see the taxis that are on duty. When we know the zones, I'll post again in this thread, and we'll be promoting in various zones in-game.

  15. Our team had a few people that were new to Warburg and rescuing scientists, which was good. I'm glad that people seemed to be enjoying themselves.

    -Johnny
  16. Understood. Just send me or Icy a tell when you're ready. If the team is full, then probably I'll break off to invite you to team, and I'll help *expedite* your scientist collection.

Aett_Thorn: Crey's Folly is off of Brickstown.

There are Freaks in Brickstown that should be lower level than in Crey's Folly, though. Also, Talos Island has lower-level freaks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

On a slightly related topic for new people, though the game map suggests that Crey's Folly can get you to the Rikti War Zone (RWZ), this is no longer the case (assuming that it ever was).

To enter the RWZ, look for the Vanguard buildings that are in Atlas Park, Founders' Falls, and Peregrine Island.

We've had three people in recent pickup teams that didn't know this, so might be worth mentioning to people when you are doing recruiting.

    PvP IOs and me

Take a look at Screenshots on ParagonWiki.

    Personally, I like using:

    /bind sysrq "screenshotui 0$$screenshot"
    /bind shift+sysrq "screenshotui 1$$screenshot"

...which creates screenshots with and without the UI by pressing Print Screen and Shift Print Screen, respectively.

  19. (updating the roster)
Freedom Phalanx is entrusting us with some of the most serious tasks imaginable. This time our adventures are drawing us to the edges of civilization, where the Devouring Earth have been gradually adapting Paragon into their own version of eden. The Devouring Earth seek to bend nature to their will, and several heroes with strong ties to nature have been captured. Unless we free them soon, they will be transformed into servants of the Devouring Earth.

Saturday June 27th 1:00pm EST (12 noon CST) (10:00am PST)
Meet at the Woodsman in Eden
The range requirement is 39-41, with those above exemplared down to 41 automatically

    Team One (Invincible):

    1. Johnny Taxibot (team lead) - lvl 50 Elec/Energy blaster

    2. Ullikummis &gt;&gt; Yeti Prince (lvl 39 ice/em blaster)

    3. hilker &gt;&gt; Brother Glacier (lvl 41 Cold/Ice defender)

    4. Scheol &gt;&gt; (toon to be decided)

    5. Mystery_Inc &gt;&gt; Insinerate (lvl 50 fire/fire blaster)

    6. NightWarrior &gt;&gt; Summer Serenade (lvl 39 Sonic/Fire blaster) -or- a lvl 50 of some kind

    7.
    8.

    Team Two (Invincible):

    1. Taxi Dermy (team lead) - lvl 39 warshade -or- Countess Natasha (lvl 45 plant/storm controller)

    2. Ironblade - lvl 50 BS scrapper

    3. mscats &gt;&gt; Taxibot Icy (Ice Blast/Ice Manipulation blaster)

    4. Doctor_A_Science &gt;&gt; Unknown Warrior (lvl 39 scrapper) or Doctor A Science Jr. (lvl 39 tanker)

    5. Gillian_Boardman &gt;&gt; (toon to be decided)

    6. Cthulhu_Thom &gt;&gt; DoctorWhatshisname (lvl 44 Sonic/Mental/Electric blaster)

    7. Steele Blue - lvl 50 NRG/NRG Blaster (pair with Cthulhu)

    8.

Overflow/Team Three (difficulty per team confidence):

    1. (team lead) - to be announced
    2.
    3.
    4.
    5.
    6.
    7.
    8.

    Notes:
    1. This is a task force challenge series, where both teams will seek a reasonably high difficulty level, depending upon the team composition.
    2. We do not generally speed run these adventures, though we do seek to make good time and enjoy being in the story.
    3. For team composition, the suggestion is to have 1-2 tankers, and 2-3 blasters for AoE crowd control. However, we will not blindly attempt a difficulty that is beyond the team makeup. When unsure, we begin at Tenacious and gradually increase the difficulty.
    4. For Teams Two and Three, it is asked that there be a tanker for each team to provide good aggro management.
    5. If you don't know where the Woodsman is, then wait by a base portal. The Taxibot base has an Eden teleporter, which drops you right next to the Woodsman.
    6. ParagonWiki indicates that this trial requires a leader in the range of 39-41, otherwise the trial will not start. This being the case, then each team needs someone in the appropriate range to start us off.
  20. On patrol in Atlas Park, I saved a young woman from some Hellions. In her gratitude, she called out the following:

[NPC] Alessandra: I'm going to get some girlfriends and we're going to hunt you down!

    That just seemed rather flattering.

    Taxi-bot?

Do you mean Paragon City Search and Rescue (PCSAR)?

I'm not familiar with the Perez group you mention, though I believe PCSAR started on Infinity and has some members working on Virtue. I'm not an authority on that group though. I think Ironblade can fill in more details when he spots this thread.

    Taxi-bot?

A Taxibot is a person that enjoys providing transportation services to help the heroes of Paragon city. Taxibots are members of the Paragon Taxi Service. You can identify a Taxibot by the word "taxi" in their name, their yellow and black checkered uniform, and their ability to use Recall Friend (the rule is to have this power by level 10 at the latest, including for PvP dual builds).

The project for creating Taxibots originated with Taxibot One years ago on Virtue, where the idea was to have pure support groups that would help heroes in the Hollows, get people to the Steel Canyon Tailor, etc.

Sister groups were established on all the servers, though their popularity varied. Taxibot Belle established the Taxibots on Infinity about four years ago, which grew to prominence until drama occured within the Virtue-Infinity leadership over the subsequent year. However, for over a year now, Taxibot Belle and I have worked as Dispatchers to organize regular activities and regrow the team, such that we're at #75 in the top 100 Infinity groups and rising steadily. We've a *great* team now that works together to provide support to the heroes.

Some of the key activities that Taxibots perform are related to helping heroes obtain badges. For example, on alternate Fridays we hold Badge Tours that will allow you to obtain all the exploration badges in a zone in about 1-2 minutes. We also have History Tours that focus on reading all the plaques in a given series, thereby awarding you a history badge for that series.

Our Taxibots are currently supported by a variety of archetypes, rather than a focus on defenders and controllers. The only archetype we don't have are Peacebringers, who are precluded from membership because they can't perform Recall Friend. Aside from that, we do regular teaming, organize pickup groups, and run regular task forces.

Hope that helps. You can read more info through the link in my signature.

    Regards,

    Johnny
