So, I've been reading around the tanker forums, get a grasp on how things will be. And I've stumbled upon a couple of sayings that there will be no more detoggling.
First, I was wondering if this was true.
Second, I was wondering if it was just Brawl, or all of them.
And third, if it is true, I think its a huge problem. The only way I can beat a BRUTE is through detoggling him. And I detoggle him through Brawl. Wait until Unyielding or wahtever hes using goes down, then hit him with IS. All toggles go down, I pummel him to death.
Granted, this is a huge OK for all tanks, because this is your biggest weak point. But its also the way for many AT's to beat you, and they cant without it.
And although tanks damage isnt te best (Aside from SS), it still can kill quite a few AT's, Brute vs. Tank would be tough. But Tanks still can dish out some insane damage with PVP specced.

Detoggling isn't going away. But, it is being reigned in by a large margin.

Are Patron Powers level specific?
Not to be an annoyance but nowhere on the Patron Arcs little info page does it list any requirements. -
Healing Flames heals the player for 17.5% HP, correct?
Yet in comparison to other self healing powers available to the other Tanker Primaries it is inferior.
I could whine about other aspects of the Primaries, imbalances and such, but let's be honest.
Healing Flames is weak. 17.5%, with a long animation, tends to equate to next to nothing. Numerous people have complained that by the time Healing Flames finishes they've already lost what they healed.
I know you have the animation crew looking into that one issue, but what exactly helps to compensate for the far inferior amount healed in comparison to other Tanker Primary self-heals? -

As several have noted, I7 features content mostly for City of Villains (levels 41 to 50, in fact). This is exactly what we did for CoH. City of Heroes will receive a cool graphics upgrade, new base items (Empowerment stations!) and access to Recluses Victory. Its true that CoV received more attention, but thats mainly because we needed to fill out the levels. I had the option of releasing I7 or waiting until we could fill out the City of Heroes content. Obviously, I chose the former. New content should get out there when its ready. We'll be focusing equally as much as possible on each product moving into the future...
For those who have speculated that Newspaper missions are coming to City of Heroes, they arent yet. Thats coming a little later in the year. Id like to add something different to the CoH system
[/ QUOTE ]
Let us look carefully at this post.
First off, no insult meant to you Mister Statesman, but I'm a little disappointed.
This is exactly what we did for CoH.
Yes it is! But...you kind of forgot something. CoH was all you had at that time when you did it. CoV is not alone, it has CoH which is running alongside it and has it's own indepedent subscribers who were looking forward to many things.
Some of those things being the Newspaper-esque missions.
Which according to your post we won't be seeing.
You also don't mention about why Brutes are getting the Electric sets yet Tanks remain shafted when it pertains to choices.
And again, no comment on the Shields powerset, which Tanks are "supposed"(Probably not) to get.
You also fail to comment on why you're basically slapping a cosmetic change, one that should have happened at I6, onto CoH for I7.
This is, of course, disappointing since it feels like you're simply rushing I7 out the door. Rather than waiting for a whole slew of new options and selections you instead cut it in half, being the CoV stuff only, and throw it in. Then you hastily fix what should have happened months ago(Cosmetic change), and state promises of "We'll be adding in more stuff for heroes sometime later".
Can we at the very least get some definitive listing of what you're working on for heroes? Or are we simply going to have to /hope/ that you aren't lying and trying to get us to waste our money?
How about the whole Archtype Rep thing that you were seemingly working on? I haven't heard much about that.
How about, I believe _castle_'s work on fixing Defender bugs and imbalances?
How about ideas on what other bugs/issues you'll be fixing?
Do I hate you for this? No.
I'm just disappointed. It's poor business planning to give only to one side and ignore the dedicated other side that was holding out for fun stuff. -
The reason behind why people are upset, aside from some individuals, is simple.
Issue 7 is touted as a City of Heroes and City of Villains issue, one that will increase both of them.
Yet the initial release of information relating to what it will actually have demonstrates that it is almost entirely dedicated toward City of Villains. All Heroes will get is what they should have gotten in Issue 6(Equal graphics and costumes).
Now, of course, there is a good chance that we will not be seeing everything listed here and now as toward what we will actually get. For all we know Shields will be put in, or Electric Tanks will be possible(Which I am hoping to see due to Voltaic Tanks in the game itself).
Simply put, the dedicated players of City of Heroes were hoping to actually get more than a cosmetic adjustment.
Should they get more? Well, bug fixes would be nice. A decrease in LOST CONNECTION TO MAPSERVER would also be wonderful.
Seeing Villains get nearly everything? A little disappointing.

I am angered.
Why?
New Power Sets! (Villains Only)
[/ QUOTE ]
IIRC, originally the Trick Arrow, Archery, Sonic Resonance, and Sonic Blast sets were listed as Defender only.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm hoping it's something like that.
The lack of mention of Shields, which I thought was being worked on for I7, is also something I'm hoping is missing due to a similar reason.
I'm also praying that various bugs get fixed. -

one problem though.. That pop up appeared as I exited a mission in a PvP zone, so I dismissed it immediately like I have the hundreds of other times I've entered a PvP zone, thinking it's the normal 'You're in a PvP zone' message.

The ferry is broken on Virtue in Cap Au Diable.
What does this mean? Probably that you'll use the Ferry to get to the event.
What does this also mean? Anyone not in a villaingroup with base teleporters can't get past Cap until it's fixed. -

I saw a tanker do almost 300 damage with a single attack in Siren's Call.
I've heard a lot of people say Tankers do "poor damage" in comparison to Scrappers and Blasters.

I thought of something...I bet the reason they are paying attention to Defenders is probably because we complain the least of any AT.
We always here about how Blasters/Tankers/Etc suck because of X reason. Since when have we heard the general "you suck" label placed on defenders?
And, I think we are actually intelligent in our posts. We don't ask stupid stuff like "Tankers shouldn't die herding the entire land of Dreck."
And, except for a couple times, defenders (thankfully) have not been targetted for nerfs. At least not as often as others are. Defenders (for the most part) seem to be the ones that don't change too often (and in the past some of it has been for the good like making Adrenalin Boost not cost all our endurance to use).
Now, if only we could spread our intelligence to the other forums...
[/ QUOTE ]
It also helps that Blueeyed made a nice listing of the problems, problems which were pure fact rather than mere wishes.
This, in turn, helps the Developers because then they can just pull out the list and go "Well, it seems that the DPS for Archery is far inferior to any other, we'd best look into ways to make up for it's incapabilities in damage!"
Not that I'm hinting toward what would rock to be fixed first(COUGH TA/ARCH COUGH)...nope, not in the slightest.
(And I actually play controller/mm primarily too!) -

I reintroduce this idea(From two frigging posts ago), and also this:
"Enhancer Drone" -- only exists in the Hospital area(and other major strategic spots which shouldn't have campers).
+DAM +ACC +RES +DEF(Only like 5% each).
This would, of course, make these evil campers quickly regret pissing you off. -
One thing to note: If you're getting nailed by anyone at your Hospital then you should Broadcast about it.
This will(usually) cause one or two people to come to your aid, beating the snot out of the person, or at least giving them more targets(and you more time to run).
As it currently stands: I tend to, with my MasterMind, keep a close eye on the Villain Hospital. If I see a hero in there I attack right away, usually winning due to the NPC interference of hospital guards(And the fact that most hospital attackers /suck god awful at PvP/). -

I grabbed a copy of the "Defender Issues" post a couple weeks ago and am working through it in my spare time. Considering the length of it, I will probably have gotten through it sometime in Janurary.

I've been playing an Energy Melee Brute since release, and also played one in beta. Something that has always really confused and annoyed me is the fact that when stunned, a large number of enemies suddenly gain extraordinary movement powers, which they then use to flee your presence with alarming speed.
Particularly guilty of this are enemies with inherent flying abilities, such as Goldbrickers, Wyvren Wing Talons, CoT ghosts, and Arachnos Mu units. All of these have an obnoxious tendancy to fly STRAIGHT UP at around 50 MPH when stunned, preventing me from attacking them at all. Often, since most of these are ranged attackers, they just stay up there, and I'm forced to run around a corner or under an overhang so that they don't just sit up there taking potshots at me.
All of this leads me to wonder, why am I being punished for having a side effect on all of my attacks? Isn't stun supposed to be useful to me?
[/ QUOTE ]
When you're stunned do you stand right next to the giant death machine, or wobble away? -

wait a minute. didn't someone confirm a known bug with (certain?) aoe powers missing more against moving targets? i could have sworn someone was talking about this in the last day or 2, and it came out of some scrapper talk about shadowmaul. it's a cone not a sphere and all, but they're both still aoe.
