They are tinkering with burn with the new patch on Test, but no idea if it includes the fix.

But until we see the fix it's still seriously nerfed.

After level 32 Bots used to get a hefty boost in dmg due to missile swarm, but it was recently nerfed. Now their dmg is about average.

Wow, just wow.
So I go into Imperial City from Nova and I notice my thugs are hanging out at train station entrance and not following me. I go to the auction house and when I come out same thing. Follow doesn't work, GOTO doesn't work.
So I dismiss them. Now they won't summon.
MM's have been so screwed up this issue I am to the point where I just won't play them. first they screw up pet ai so they run into melee for everything and I say "Okay, I can work around it. " Then they screw up missile swarm for bots and I say "well, I'll stop playing my bot MM until they fix it", which they WON'T.
Now they've totally f'ed pets up completely to where I have to either go into a mission to get them back, or log out.
And none of this is in the fraking patch notes.
Hey devs, way to break a whole AT and show you just don't give a crap. -

New issue Castle will decided that acid motor is over powered on npcs so he'll rescale it for them, and will nerf it for MMs in the process. But don't worry, he'll fix it.
I was hoping to take my level 50 bots/traps mm hero side and was completely excited about the tip system. Now the only thing keeping me in the game is my rl friends who play.
But with these nerfs, and I don't give a crap if they are intentional or not they are still nerfs, and with then running the game on crappy servers that create terrible lag I might be convincing my friends to explore new options come November -
Still no fix to the GOTO command for MMs and no fix for the burn patch for assault bots. At this point I'm thinking these things will get fixed around the same time that navigation bug were your waypoint disappears whenever a team mate zones. You know, the one that's been around for 6 years.

I hope they get fixed sooner than the GOTO bug. Quite frankly I'm getting sick of them tinkering with other sets and it screwing up my main toon. -

I haven't noticed a thing different on my Bots/Traps Mastermind.
When the bug of EVERYTHING going into melee was there, sure. Now? Same behavior as before - 2 Drones and 1 Prot stay at range. One Drone charges in, maybe followed by the other Prot. And the Assbot fires everything it has, then goes into melee - if something survives.
This is typical behavior. I saw it before the bug. I'm seeing it now.
It was only when everything seemed to forget that ranged attacks had range that this character was unplayable.
Maybe I should pull out a Thugs/ or Merc/ before the Beta shuts down, because I am just not seeing the kind of thing you are complaining about. *EDIT* Huh... seems they took out the auto level... and I don't have one of an appropriate level I can just transfer in. Sorry, can't test this, after all. -

If you want to convince them otherwise, I'd suggest avoiding words like "lie." A more positive and pleasant attitude will almost certainly be required to convince Paragon Studios to take a second look at pet AI. Heck, your comment wasn't even aimed at me and yet I'm inclined to dismiss it as excessive nerd rage and sophomoric internet posturing.
For what it's worth, I play Bots, and I haven't noticed any significant change in behavior. There was always some weirdness with the Rikti dummies that caused pets to mob them at melee range. This is not new.
Or maybe you are too dead already to understand why. -
Pet's running into melee when their ranged attacks are in cool down was a "feature" added for demons. Funny thing is, ALL pets, even pets with no melee attacks enter into melee range when their ranged attacks are on cool down, even phantasims and gun turrets.
I for one think the new "feature" is the stupidest thing ever added into the game. Why the Hell would I ever, ever, EVER want my merc, thug or bot to use BRAWL? F'ING BRAWL! WHY? "OH LOOK OUT! THE ASSBOT is going to BRAWL me to DEATH, with it's 5 points of damage! OH WAIT! I'll just fire off my PBOAE NUKE!!"
It's a waste on an attack and places my henchmen in harms way for no reason other than to buff ninjas, demons and zombies because their lazy *** masterminds can't figure out how to use the f'ing GOTO command.
And, by the way, GOTO is now broken due to the "feature" added in I17, because the pet's AI is HARDWIRED now to enter into melee.
I've pmed Castle several times now, and all I've gotten back at this point is "It's not a BUG, it's a feature, but oh, look, GOTO is broken now! Thanks for telling us!"
I will be happy if they fix the GOTO bug, but I still think it's beyond dumb for my bots to try and brawl people. -

Based on your post you only said you had soloed ebs. I have no idea if mercs can solo avs or not. Nobody has posted any exploits, so I was just going off of my own limited expericence. -

I'd say most mm primaries can do really crazy things with the exception of mercs. In my opinion, MMs are sold as "why get a team when you are a team?" so they SHOULD be able to solo most of the content in the game. Which means if mercs can't they need an upgrade. -

Doesn't help when trying to solo Recluse or Nosfarato(sp?), and I have enough soft control for mobs now. Still, might try it out if I'm having and issues with Malta or Longbow.

There is currently a bug in pet AI where pets ingore the GOTO and STAY commands while in combat. The devs are working on fixing it, but it has been slow going.
Pet's engaging in melee once their ranged weapons are in cool down mode was a "feature" added in I17.
I personally think it blows.
On a orange level minion my assault bot goes a whopping 90 points of damage with brawl.
Why on earth would I ever want him to brawl an opponent when he could wait a second and do several hundred points of damage with napalm burn patches?
I think melee pets should do melee attacks and ranged pets should stay at range. -
Seeker drones are a must have. They to massive amounts of -to hit and -dmg. Get 'em, use 'em and emphasis recharge so you get them up as often as you can.
The only power I would recommend skipping is detonator. Killing pets is never a good idea, you should be doing everything you can to keep them alive. -

And I just slotted the Gravitational Anchor hold proc into the mace immobilize. Can't wait to see what that does.
Still won't help me solo AVs who do massive PBAOE dmg though, but mob control is no longer an issue at least, and that is were the money is -
I'm playing a level 50 bots/traps, I always have my bots on defense follow and I run missions as +1/6. Usually my bots chase critters into the next mob but I actually saw a drone run up to a critter, turn and run into the next mob. Maybe the next mob targeted him, but it still happened.

When I hit the thermal heal aura it covers all the pets usually, and I can spot heal the pets that need more healing with cauterize. This is all after the level 32 upgrade I should mention. My fire demonling usually likes to lag back and throw fire balls.
If you are level 32+ I would suggest embracing the melee killing field strategy. You probably have shadowfall, darkest night, tar patch, and the other dark miasma goodies to mitigate incoming damage. Your twilight grasp should hit most of your pets in this mode, too. The safest place to be is as close to your darkest night anchor as anywhere else. When you get your dark servant, more tohit debuff goodness will multiply and synergize. -
All pets like melee post I17. Apparently the devs adjusted pet AI so the bruiser/ninjas/grave nights and I believe the Demon Prince would enter into melee. Unfortunately ALL pets now enter into melee as soon as they have exhausted their ranged attacks.
In fact I'd go so far as to say the pet AI has gone nuts. I have provoke on auto fire. I can place my pets on defense/follow and be outside a mobs agg range and as I am upgrading my assault bot he'll target someone who is not attacking me and I'll taunt them. I've seen battle drones IGNORE the present mob we are fighting and go into the next mob and agg them for no apparent reason.
And the controls are useless.
It can be a real pain in the butt to be a MM these days. -

A change that has been commented on, acknowledged as an issue, tested and submitted to Castle twice now. -

Pulling With Pets:
Yes, it's possible. I do it all the time. Put the Pets in Heal mode. Find a corner to leave them in Stay. Now target the straggler from the group. Run back behind the corner and hit the Attack button. Now quickly hit the GoTo macro-button and place them by your side still around the corner. I allow my Pets to get only one shot off before the GoTo.
To get them to attack and not move experiment with the Attack, Follow, GoTo, Stay, different locations, timing, . . .
As far as Guides you might want to read Red_Zeros. And. . . don't forget:
/macro RP petcom_all release_pets
I use my Bots like puppets on strings.
Don't talk to us like were all children. I have a level 50 bots/traps mm I've been playing for over a year. I rock +1/6 man team and have soloed 50 avs, including Baphomet and a level 51 Clockwork King. Sorry, 49 avs and one Rikti Pylon.
So I know how to manage my pets. And since I17 came out my bots act like brutes. They'd much rather rush into melee range and HIT someone than shoot them from a safe distance. GOTO does nothing. STAY does nothing.
Pet AI was changed so demons will enter into melee. That is great for demons, ninjas, zombies and the bruiser. But I don't want to play those types of MMs because most avs have nasty pbaoe attacks that will nuke your pet stack.
I want to place my bots in one spot while I stand on the opposite side of a mob or a boss and taunt them. I don't think that is asking too much. -
I can tell you what wasn't in this patch:
1.) Fix for ranged mastermind pets acting like brutes and charging into melee. This has been broken since I17 and the last "fix" did nothing. Makes doing any hard taskforce impossible since you can't contribute any dps to the team because your pets think the best strategy for fighting an av is to charge into pbaoe range and die. I'm not bitter or frustrated or anything.
2.) Fix the bug that crashes coh if you try to add a boss to any AE mission you are creating. Again this has been broken since I17 and it is really annoying, especially with all the new cool toys they added to the AE. -
At this point I wish they'd just remove brawl from mercs, thugs and bots. Problem solved.
Last night my bots kept running into melee every time they'd encounter a mob. Before I17 I could GOTO them to a spot and solo an av. Now any attempt at actual strategy is a joke. Only my protector bots would run up. Now, since they took brawl away from protector bits, they are the only bots that actually stay put!
Castle pmed me and said they are working on a fix, but who knows how long that is going to take.
