I always thought it would have been a great scene if it when like so:

"Do you know what happens to a toad when hit by lightning?"

    KA-ZZZORCH!!!

True, but an official clarification would be nice. The 'official FAQ' is in dire need of updating and has been for a LONG time. There's a definite feel of being neglected and ignored.

I wouldn't say the rule is especially unclear. But, if a re-write is needed to satisfy the argument, then they should do it.

    So, instead of:

"You may re-roll all of the dice on a single test that did not score a hit."

    it should say this:

"You may re-roll any dice that did not score a hit during a single test."

OR, just give an example (like I did above) clarifying how the rule works.

I've seen enough people on both sides of the arguement to conclude the rule is simply worded badly.

That interpretation really makes no sense to be honest. Shouldn't that Edge spent on a 1 hit test be as effective as one spent on a complete failure? Don't just look at the wording, look at the intent of the rule. Is Edge intended to increase the odds of success, or is it just meant to be insurance against failure?

Besides, if there is a question as to what the rule is, then the GM decides. House rules override official rules, after all.

This line could be interpreted in two ways:

You may re-roll individual dice that did not score a hit.

    or

You may re-roll if entire test did not score any hits.

The "you may re-roll" could apply to EITHER just the failed dice, or the entire test. Either interpretation is technically correct by the rules of English word and grammar usage.

It'd actually be great if Jason could get on the Dumpshock boards, ask them for a list of clarifications that need to be made, and actually UPDATE that damn Shadowrun FAQ that has been in dire need of updating for the longest time.

I do not see how that is confusing.

Let's say that you are rolling 10 dice on a test. You get 2 hits. That's not quite good enough, so you spend that Edge to re-roll the dice that did not hit. You re-roll 8 dice.

Next time you roll, you get 0 hits. That certainly isn't good enough, so you spend that Edge to (again) re-roll the dice that did not hit. You re-roll all 10 dice this time.

You see, your second interpretation is simply a way of expressing the first when all dice fail to hit. In other words, BOTH interpretations are correct. In both cases, you are re-rolling FAILED dice (in other words, dice that did not score a hit).

    hope this helps.

  6. I'd have to say I make female characters about 75% of the time, mostly for concept reasons. I won't lie and say I don't appreciate the cheesecake factor, but that is never why I choose to make a certain character female.

And yes, the walk emote for the ladies is mezmerizing.

I tend to agree with the prevailing commentary that Cashoo was robbed of a place in the winners' circle. I've seen that mentioned other places across the forums too, actually. It's obvious that everyone loved the showing she made.

    We're proud of you Cashoo!
Well, it appears that she did grab an Honorable Mention for her trouble, so grats on that!

I'll be putting a few blood spatters on my mask and arms once I get to HeroCon.

Eventually I'll be taking my mask off, because it's terribly hard to breath in.

Whoa... been following this thread because your art is superb bar none... normally I blast the mortys first, but in your case I'll make an exception.

Great costume and drop dead (pun very much intended) gorgeous? I predict a first place...
  10. Still looking for Broadswords for Brutes!!!
  11. This looks to be entertaining.

    Hero/Villan : Praetorian

Jet Flash : Aegis Turbo (power armors)

Titanium Girl : Titanium Terror (superstrong metallic young women)

Kaishin : Daraku (halfling warriors, from the Japanese words for reformation and corruption respectively)

Doctor Mechanus : Professor M (robotic mastermind, Praetorian counterpart)

Voltanna : Lady Overload (electric blasters)

The Black Lioness : Death Hyena (genetics experiments with human and lion/hyena DNA)

The Pyroclastic Kid : Krakatoa (young men with volcanic powers)
  12. I would like to put in a request for Titanium Girl.

    Pic 1

    Pic 2

    Thanks!
  13. Oh sure, why not?

    Name: Canis-Major

Short Bio: Major Kanos was a starfighter pilot in the Santaran Star Navy. During a massive space battle with the feline Mrrtsha, his starfighter was caught in a blast from an exploding battlecarrier in the middle of a hyperdrive jump. In a freak accident, it flung Kanos and his ship thousands of light years across the galaxy, emerging in the sky above Steel Canyon. Heavily damaged in the process, Kanos managed to crash land the fighter in Boomtown and escape before it blew itself to pieces. Equipped only with his combat flight suit, a salvaged plasma assault rifle, and his wits he managed to survive and prosper on this alien world.

Description: Kanos is essentially a bipedal wolf, standing 7' 2" tall with grey and black fur. His combat flight suit is a dark grey armor with blue highlights (used the Exoproto pieces for the torso and legs).

Here is an older picture of him. I have since replaced the super soaker AR with the much cooler Redding Rail rifle from Vanguard. The armor now uses the Exoproto pieces instead of what is in the photo.

    Thanks Foo!

  17. Try your hand with my AR/ENG blaster Canis-Major.

    Front

    Side

He is not a gun-toting werewolf, but a crash-landed alien pilot. The gun is supposed to be a energy-based assault rifle, but obviously we don't have such a thing in game. His costume is what is left of his armored flightsuit.

    Have at it!
