Easy way to check - if they flame is there, it's working.

You had trouble hitting a Regen Scrapper? What were you doing, hitting him with Brawl? From the sounds of it, either they were heavily buffed, using (insert name of the +Def Accolade here) or you're exaggerating. Or, of course, they were using inspirations and you just didn't notice. It also sounds like they were using Instant Healing if their regen was that good - it wears off after 3 minutes, if memory serves.

Anyway, aren't Controller and Dominator mezzes double magnitude in PvP?

Gotta love the inspiration complaints - I don't PvP that much and even I'm sick of it.

Nope, Defenders (and to an extent, Controllers) are the "buffer" class. Blasters and Defenders share the ranged blast sets, however, so they are similar.

Tier - the "number" of the power. So the first power you can select is Tier 1, the second Tier 2 and so on. Tier 9 is the final power in your primary/secondary.

PFF - Personal Force Field - shared with Defenders, Controllers and Masterminds with the Force Field powerset. Huge +Defense, can only affect self.

TI - Temp Invulnerability - shared with Tankers, Brutes and Scrappers with the Invulnerability powerset, as well as Defenders and Controllers in the Ancillary ("Epic") Pools. +Resistance to Smashing and Lethal damage.

FoN - Force of Nature - A "god mode" that grants large resists to all damage except Psionic. Similar to Unstoppable, also from the Invulnerability powerset, but without the Mes resistance.

While Feint is a good damage boost, I rate it the same as Build Up for Brutes - something to take when there's nothing else you want. I think I'm taking it at 30, after my defenses are done.

Definitely - 2 KB IOs will cover most instances - only Force Bolt and Earthquake spring to mind from enemy mobs. 5 will give you "complete immunity" unless there are multiple Earthquakes or lots of KB attacks hit you at once. I'd aim for 3 or 4 to be safe, though.

Fire/Thorns was the first Dominator I ever made... it's a pity I got confused with the difference between Immob and Hold. He lasted a few months before I deleted him. I've re-rolled him a few times since but he just didn't "feel" the same. I remember it being a good combo though, even with my complete lack of game knowledge back then.

Aye, Tough and Acro planned before 30 - the 3 auras are being saved for the 40s, along with the self-rez.

I have to say, my DB/Dark Brute is the squishiest Melee toon I have played thus far... it's worse than my Stalkers

Still, the version of him on Test if great fun so I'll stick with it - until 22, at least.

Elec, Fire, Energy and Willpower seem to work really well - mostly due to the +endurance / +recovery powers.

Well, if my Grav/Kin can hold a Brute in Warburg (then defeat them ) they can't be that underpowered.

Boost Controllers... yeah, right... they're as powerful as ATs come these days.

I was thinking more of the combo of 8 Stalkers doing this at the same time - that's a huge 80% health drop. I'm sure even Stalkers could drop the remaining 20% with their next crit and BU, post-placate attack.
