    Background help.

    I wasn't even born then.

That was a whole 10 years before I even existed.

Yet I really want to watch it now...

Not as much as I want to get the old Get Smart series on boxset though.

About the <insert job> bit, it can be any job, really... a fireman falling through a floor into a stash as he's fighting fire. A reporter investigating a smuggling ring (hellions seem to like them). A garbage disposer accidentally activating a teleportation piece of garbage. A cop finding the artifacts after months of following clues, finding himself in a situation where he has to use them instead of bag and tag.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I actually like the garbage man idea. Average Joe, going through the motions at work early one morning, grabs something on the side of the street that looks like a piece of [censored] ornament, and then, BAM, suddenly teleported into a magical realm where he's filled with magical mojo.

*Nabs the idea, pays his thanks and runs off to roll a new toon.*
  3. I think the keyword in the original post was 'finally'. xD

Thanks to everyone that helped me get there eventually. MD, Dad, Healing, Ashley, and those people the MD threw into the team, plus everyone I've teamed with and stuff like that.

    Oh, and dad?

    Kheldian's suck.
  4. When I had the toon 'Crazy Hobo Joe', this would have been his themetune because it just suits him.
  5. Giant Viking Space Bunnies!

Who have Shield Defence powers, loincloths and some Power Customization on Spines.

And adjustable height and stuff in iCon.

And a 'Fat' figure for women and blokes, so we can make sumo wrestling Roman samurai with dual katanas.
  6. Tram Trashed!

by Jackson Turner, Senior Times Staff

Perry Cooper, 67, had been a railway conductor, engineer, inspector and supervisor for the Paragon Transit Authority (PTA) for over forty years. Retired in 2002, he’s writing a book chronicling the history of Paragon City’s transit system—a history that dovetails neatly with that of his own family. “I’ve been a train enthusiast since I was about 4,” he says. “My dad was an engineer on the old Red Line and his dad was with the Paragon Rail Company. It’s been a family vocation since the Civil War.” However, when told about the recent vandalism of a Yellow Line train by the individual known as "Vectors", Perry couldn't help but shake his head in disguist. "No respect. Kids like him have no respect for anything nowadays."

The graffiti artist has made a name for himself in Paragons extensive underground culture by 'tagging' large heroic and iconic objects, such as the Galaxy City Arena and the statue of Galaxy Girl herself.

However, authorities are confused by the vandals actions, as he also seems to be doing vigilante work on the side and attempting to aid in the cleaning up of the streets. Police have stated that, if he is caught, he will certainly be punished, although his good deeds may count towards something in the long run.

More on this story as it unfolds.

In Marvel and DC comics still exist.

It's just another kind of entertainment.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely, but the point was that DC Comics don't exist in the Marvel Universe, but Marvel Comics actually do! In the CoH Universe we don't dispute that comic books do exist, but in what form. Purely as fictional entertainment, or as something more truthful?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I'm sure I've read references to Superman in Marvel comics.

Though I'm not sure which ones they were.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think in one of the Ultimate Spiderman comics, someone holding up a bank is seen in a plastic Batman mask (alongside Captain 'Merica and Iron Man). In the Ultimates, there's also references to a paper called the 'Daily Planet', and in another panel there are three reporters who look suprisingly like Lois Lane, Supes and Jimmy.

But back to the question at hand, I can't see why Marvel/DC comics can't exist in CoX. A few nights ago, there was a discussion about using a 'Fastball Special', and Volt Master actually referenced the comic where it first appeared (Uncanny X-Men #100, if you're interested).
  8. And Jayce is a street-smart-father-of-two-vigilante-Sushi-Chef.
  9. Aye, Wednesday works fine for me aswell.
  10. I would type up a recap, but I really can't see Jayce being the kind of guy who writes or talks about such illicit affairs.

    And aye, I use MSN.
  11. National Treasure 2.

Not a bad film, really. Lots of interesting ideas.

Anyway, I now have conformation I'll be on tonight. So see you then.
  12. Aye, I'll agree there Jester. But sometimes it does annoy me when I have a toon in his secret identity, and suddenly someone will blurt out 'OH, HEY YOU'RE SOANDSO'.
  13. I'm a bit unsure on the 'Use Bio' option.

In one way, it lets people know if you're in some way different to how it appears, but in another way it gives people OOC knowledge on your character that they can bring up if they haven't explicitly been told it (i.e, someone claiming they know you're real name is Michael, when it's the first time you've spoken to them).

And on the topic of fudgeability, I have to admit, I'm pretty big on using the fudge aslong as it doesn't ruin canon backgrounds. For example, Volt Master, my main, is pretty damn fast. Of course, OOC he's stuck on the 88mph speed cap SS gets, but IC, I have him seeing everything in slow motion, and running to France for meetings in a few minutes (ala Flash from JLU). And Crucifix III, OOC he's a level 12, but I.C he's a major magic user who kills the undead for the Vatican. He's WAAAY more powerful than his security level leads on, but I've fudged this by saying he doesn't actually have a Hero License, hence he can't have a proper security level.
  14. Sorry about not being on Sat night. Went to the cinema and out for dinner.

I should hopefully be on tonight though.
  15. I thought we'd get a lot of people wanting to be tanks.

They have most of the thuggish weaponry...
  16. Yep, you know I'm up for this.

I needed to make a DB/WP scrapper anyway...
  17. Acrobat Pulls A Vanishing Act

Nicholas Kolya, 18, and famed for his death-defying stunts in the Paragon Central Circus, was last night reported missing by the circus owner. The acrobat, who dabbled in parlour tricks aswell, was well known through the lower-class entertainment crowds. Whilst no note was left behind, police are reporting this as "un-suspicious" and that "the boy probably just ran away". An inquest into the training methods and the way performers were treated in the circus is underway.

Dec 1 issue of Paragon Times, Page 8, found on a bench in Atlas Park.

Just make sure not to get caught IC by Zero, last **** that tried to pull a fast one in the D found himself in a pocket dimension of his own for quite a while

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem is, Zero would find out. He's not going to be operating a super-bar in a pocket dimension without having some kind of amazing security set up.

    *Goes to roll an alt.*

    NOT FOR LONG!
  20. I'd suggest changing the date.

The 29th is when I10 is supposed to be going Live on the EU Test server.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
How long you've been doing it hardly comes into it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well... I wouldn't agree with that completely.

Sometimes, time can be one of the biggest factors, I think, but that's because I put most of it down to expierence.

"The more you roleplay X, the better you get at roleplaying X" is how I seem to operate.

To start with, I was perhaps the tooliest, most awesomely rubbish roleplayer at the time. I learned from my mistakes and begun to adapt to what seemed like a 'better' way of roleplaying, i.e not Godmodding and stuff.

I wouldn't go as far as calling myself a veteran (26 months of roleplay in hand in CoH, plus a year or so of forum RP), but I'd like to think I've improved from the first few days.

    Despite what FFM says. =P
  22. [ QUOTE ]
How are GOD characters going to deal with this... you know the kind... The ones that can snap their fingers and worlds are born/destroyed. Can lift mountains (pretty decent ammo, I'd say) ... or say, create a black hole?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, Crucifix III is one of the God's right-hand men, and is also a Balancer of the Multiverse. However, when he exits 'The Void' to be in the mortal world, his powers go down to that ten times of a human.

Still, he does have some serious magical mojo he can dish out.

I think this is going to hit Ultimune the worst though. He's just a fifteen year old kid with no powers, just some martial arts training and gadgets.

He's never had to kill anyone/thing before, so I expect he might snap partway through the mayhem.
  23. Well, it's got me LMAO.

    Nice work, Max. =D

    IC rumours

"Yo' 'Enry? You hear 'bout this new virus on the web?"

    "... No."

"Apparently, it gets into the network and just spams a sound-byte."

    "What's it say?"

"Accordin' to this, "The storm is comin'."

"Probably just some punk kids from Steel."

    "Probably."

[Two office workers talking about the TM.VM virus.]
  25. I have a few ideas worked out, but I'm personally looking foward to the RP aspect of it.

Think it could give us something different than the usual insanity at GG.
