Happy belated birthday Rasta!
-
Wish I could have made this one. This sounded, as Major T would say...
Interesting.
Hoping to make the next one! I really want to see this. -
Quote:You did an awesome job! Thanks for giving me the chance, only had the one hiccup at the end with a almost full team wipe, but we regathered and conquered.
I had a lot of fun, plus got an HO going for over 200 Mill, so it all worked out!
200 mil... hmm... I may have to start selling some of my stocked Hami-O's...
It's been a long time since I've been to a raid and that one was quite enjoyable. I'm going to have to make a point of going to more. -
I got here about a month after launch. My brother (Tuxedo Braz) picked up the game and was showing me it at his place. I tried it out for and decided to pick it up on the way home.
I never played much in the way of video games untill City of Heroes. -
Quote:I like it.I feel bad for the Dev that gets Protector. I mean think of if. This is the home of Badge. Giant Monster spawning is what we are best at. It's going to take a lot of work to impress us.
I'm hoping to get on tonight. It's my daughter b-day today so we're going out to dinner with the whole family. She's 14 and it's a school night so we should be home early
But at least I'm free tomorrow! -

Quote:As a side note, I was listening to your show last week while playing STOI love KJSR, even if it's beyond just our server now. I love the people who listen to me every week even though I SUCK.
Protector is defiantly about the people. I have a few toons on other servers, but Protector is still where I like to be.
And even when I'm on other servers, my channels are on protector based ones. -
Quote:I think thats the probably the best (or the funniest) description of Jello Shooters I've ever heard.Jello Shooters is Protector's Global Chat Channel equivalent for a bikers' bar...
Actually, if you don't mind the rough crowd, it's a good place to ask for teams and/or team members.
And welcome to protector Astral! -
Welcome back Santa!
I'm gonna have to start playing on Protector more again -
Tux is still here. We've been playing over on Guardian with Aura Light.
Blaine and Sadie came back a while ago but i think they left again.
We had Death001 drop off the face of the earth. Not sure what happened to him but I'd like to see him come back. -
NEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome back!
I'll send you an invite back to the Mixed Nuts if you want. It's pretty quiet though but we got a good amount of base toys. -
Quote:I agree with you there. I've run into a couple problems with the open teaming system.I do enjoy playing the game. I haven't tried teaming yet. I am not a fan of the "open teaming" system that they have. From what I hear basicly anyone can join your team if they are in the same planet system with the same mission. I am also not a fan of this one server system. .
On one occasion, I was thrown onto a team with 2 other people. After we (and I stress WE there) finished 3 of the 5 objectives listed, the leader (which is the first person in the instance) booted me from the team. I don't know if it was done accidentally or on purpose but when this happens you get booted out of that instance and have to start over again. It was annoying, but not a big issue as it gave me a chance to get some good loot on my own.
On another occasion, I had started a mission, and had a couple people join me. They then left right after we engaged the first attack wave. The following attack wave was based on having 3 ships not one in the team. It was a good day to die. Repeatedly. Once I exited the mission and re-entered it, it reset but I still had to redo a part of it.
That being said however, I've also enjoyed more than a few good "open teams".
Quote:Is the game perfect? No. Missions are buggy. Server stability is an issue at the moment. I would give the game an overall C+ grade (or a 3 star) rating. A Star Trek fan might give a higher score, as I am sure that I have missed out on some hidden nuggets or lore and Easter Eggs in the game.
It's not enough to pull me from CoX or Lord of the Rings Online.
But as much as I like it, I won't be abandoning CoX either.
(Superheroes and Star Trek. I feel like a kid again!)

i'll throw this out there...
any interest in forming a protector based fleet?
keepin the Protector family together -

Tried it and liked it.
I bought the digital edition pre-order on the weekend and got the lifetime membership.
I did the calculations on the lifetime membership and it worked out to about the same as 16 months of monthly payments.
I've always been a Star Trek fan. I've been collecting the books since the early 1980's (I have almost all of them) and i also played the old FASA role playing game. (I even have a few of my old game miniatures left). -
