I have lost so much to that rule on various Alts, it's just disgusting. Lost an entire set of bids I had out on my Peacebringer. Poor and Empty slotted, now she just glares at me from the login screen, DARING me to play her.
I'm glad it's gone, I hated having to log into each and every alt every month or so out of fear of losing what was there. -

A lot of desired procs, as well as Acc/Dam and Dam/End from popular sets are in there.
(only Pool A rares shown at this time)

Part of my problem is that I can't go to "there" from work, and I don't think to do it at Home.
I'll try to go read up on what's available later, I guess. I just hate to use up what little playtime I have reading. :-0 -
So far I'm seeing little reason to do Silver rolls .. I guess I'll have to use up some playtime tonight, and actually read. Thanks for the input. If anyone else wants to chime in, please do.

Is there any reason to make Silver Ticket Rolls? Besides "There's no way I can hold all these recipes and don't feel like running back and forth."
I can't hit any of the sites that have the data from here (Yes yes, I know, Get Back To Work), but I was just curious as to what might be in there that is "desireable" to the masses.
I know that Bronze rolls have some interesting Gems, rare but useful (or profitable). Are there any such items in the Silver Rolls? Are your chances to get them better, worse, the same? Are Silver rolls just a way to get more tickets out of our hands?
Discuss. There will be an exam at the end. -

"Find the sapper and hit it until it goes away" works just as well.

Not if your endurance bar goes kerflooey before the sapper goes splat.

That's what a Slotted Knockout Blow is used for. No More Sapper. -
PS - I don't think anything beats Earth/Rad Controolers when it comes to pure Debuffing. In my eyes, it's the best Debuff Combo around.

Rad/Sonic defender. Some more protection, a lot more damage.
... ok, my first thought was "Jim Beam". I'll admit it.

Feh. My first thought was "Single Malt Irish Whiskey". I Win.
As someone else stated, I'd round things out with a Controller, maybe a Plant/Thermal .. that sounds Fun to me, and you get a good mix of Healing, Buff, and Debuff .. plus, Plant/Thermal just sounds Fun. -

That being said, don't be afraid to shop around. Newegg does sell complete systems. Here's one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883229090

Allow me to recommend NewEgg also. You can find a decent PC there at a good price.
Dell is usually more expensive, and they do use a lot of refurbished parts - which oddly enough you would think would make their PC's CHEAPER. I don't recommend Dell to anyone who is concerned with cost and quality.
Tiger Direct is also a good site.
As someone else mentioned also - do not be afraid to investigate building your own PC. It's not nearly as intimidating as you think. However - I've priced out a few Kits, vs Stand alone PC's from Newegg, and you can basically use either to get a good gaming PC. Kit's usually give you more 'bang for your buck', but are a little more work. -

I play a Inv/SS Tanker, and have played him since the game started, and he was my first lvl 50. Lots of fun to play once you get your technique and slotting down - Let me offer a few opinions.
Powers:
If you mix in Haymaker and Knockout Blow, and slot each of them (for at least Accuracy and Damage), it will certainly add to your survivability. You would need to remove two powers from what you have, and I gather that would be a tough choice for you.
I have not had Weave in my build for a long time. To me, it was just never enough of a bonus for the number of Slots it needed. I would at least delay it a little.
I do have all of the Invul powers, but several of them (like Res Ele and Res Ener) I didn't take until the 40's.
I would pick two of those powers, and dealy them slightly to let you take Haymaker and Knockout Blow. Fully slotted, Knockout blow is your big single target damage attack. Haymaker is a fast recharging attack, decent damage, and some mitigation too.
Slotting:
I would prefer having 3 slots in Health over 3 slots in Combat jumping. The gain to your Defense is not all that high from CJ, and slotting just increases it slightly. Slotting health increases your Regen, so that when you do take damage you recover from it faster. The higher level you get, the more HP's you have, and the more you will regen each 'tick'. Tanks really should Slot Health by your level.
Slotting your Passives:
If you do take them, you really don't get the bang for your buck when slotting them, compared to using the slots in Offense first.
I have them, and they are slotted (Great place to stash some Invention sets), but I didn't slot them until later.
Work with what you have.
You have one Impervium Unique +resist psionic in TI. Look at getting some of the other Impervium Recipes, see what you can grab at a decent price. Don't just look at the "Buy It Now Price, and look at a range of Recipes you can use. Level 26-9 and 31-34 are just as good as those 'Magic Number 25/30/35, and usually MUCH cheaper.
You have 1 Aegis, check and see what a second one will run. Again, look at Recipes - they run cheaper.
Another thing to consider, if you do keep those passives and each are 3 slotted. Look and see if you can get 2-3 of a set to put in there just for the partial IO Set bonus. Sometimes what you can gain there can actually work better, or at least a little more interesting, then just the tiny bonus you get from an enhancement. (I have no access to other sources here at work, so can't show you examples of that, but I know other people can, if you are interested). -

If people did notice on the expansion, the guy had a _Gun_ but it's not i15 so the point is moot, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
My Mastermind has a Gun, two of them in fact. I don't think seeing a Gun or the holsters on his costume is any proof positive of it being a new powerset. -
Nice Read, and overall it appears to be pretty accurate, though some things (as always in this game) are a matter of preference.
I'm still picking my way through my first successful Brute, using similar tactics as you described, with modifications for personal preference and teaming .
I play a lot solo for No XP, and team regularly with a pre-determined group for XP. Playing for no XP may seem counter-productive to many, but it really did help me learn to play him. -

I suspect the main reason for the death of the Vault was two thirds of the veteran playerbase reacting to it by logging on and opting out within 5 minutes of it being announced.

And I suspect you are inventing some highly exaggerated number over your intense displike of a 'feature' that we know next to nothing about.
Back on topic ... I'll miss most of tuesday with Work and Baby Tiny issues, but I'll get to visit for a few hours during the anniversary. I hope it's something Really Cool. But - guaranteed - no matter what it is, someone will complain about it. -

Characters (on active accounts) who have inventories, bids or items for sale in the Black Market or in Wentworth's Consignment House will no longer have to log into the game within 60 days to avoid item or influence/infamy expiration.
In-game Black Market and Wentworth employees will still give their friendly reminder, however if your account is "active", they won't take your "stuff".
[/ QUOTE ]
Add me to the list of people who give you a Hearty Thanks for this. It was quite a chore logging into every character and then running over to WW/BM to monitor things. I have enough alts so that if even if I could log into 1-2 characters a day for 60 days, I might still miss one.
I know I've lost millions upon millions in sales and winning bids, so thankfully it's 'fixed' now. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well four speed,
I just have a different strategy, one that requires less than 5 mins at the market when i log on, and less than 5 mins there once i end a session. Doing this over the last week on my new 50 I have managed to make about 200 Mill, from probably an hour total market time.
So while I see your strat as valid, and really good for people who dont have a huge bankroll. Its too time intensive for me based on the returns
PS. My start has allowed me to build up a good nest egg for my toons.

[/ QUOTE ]
Then what you are doing is different then what FourSpeed is doing .. so it's not really right to call their tactic "inefficient'. Your 'strategy' is to build large amounts of income. Fourspeed's is to bankroll a new character, or create a modest income with ease.
Two different strats for two different desires. Sounds right to me.
Yes, it still works and probably will always work.
Did you know that, at times, there is a recipe or two that sells for more in WW/Black market then you can buy it from at a Table? More Easy money. -
I have a team on Pinnacle who are going to give this a try on Monday (or the next Monday) .. if we can find people to help us fill up our team

Blocked at work, as usual. I'll read it later.

From the view point of a newer player:
I love CoX.
I have 3 accounts and characters on every server.
Overall, I find the CoX player base one of the best groups of players I've encountered.
Vet Rewards and the PvP discussions being the exception that proves the rule.
I am a somewhat competitive player.
I like the though of potentially getting involved in the PvP aspects of the game.
Telling me that because I've not been playing continuously since Beta means that I'll never be able to compete with players who have, not because of any amount of skill or dedication, but because I did START at the same time they did is somewhat a slap in the face for my $45/ month and the ungodly amount of time I spend on this game.
The more powers and advantages you give vets, the more disheartening it is for those who know they'll never EVER catch up, short of buying someone's account. The longer the game goes on, the greater the desparity between the "haves" and the "have-nots/ have-lesses".

How on earth does letting old players get their Travel Powers early make *YOU* Uncompetitive? They might have a few Temp Powers that you MIGHT not have (They are available to everyone in missions), but really - How does it Affect you?
And Really ... "somewhat a slap in the face"? Really? Drama does not become you. -
Well, It's about time. Welcome to the F U T U R E!

I didn't write the game, or anything it in.
*Attempt to explain Dev Logic begins* Some Primaries are shared. What may be a choice to you may be predetermined for others. So, that means that it's safe to call those powers Tier 1-9. Now, Power pools are the same for everyone, and have the powers available at different 'Tiers' for Everyone, so it's ok to refer to THEM as 'Tiers' also.
[/ QUOTE ]
Powers in a shared powerset are not available at different Tiers, they are available at different levels.
As I mentioned before the word tier is a widely accepted term to number the powers listed in any given powerset. Each powerset has nine powers commonly referred to as Tier 1 through Tier 9 powers. Whether a shared powerset is a primary or secondary for a given archetype does nothing to change this numbering system. If the powerset is your primary then you may choose between the Tier 1 and Tier 2 power from that set at level one. If it is your secondary then you are automatically assigned the Tier 1 power.
By applying the same rules of terminology to the Power Pools you have 4 powers in each set numbered Tier 1 through Tier 4 and at level 6 you can choose between the Tier 1 and Tier 2 power from any one of the Power Pool sets.
If you are using the term Tiers as a reference to the times when a given power is unlocked in a given powerset I will agree that you may choose to call that a tier as well but by the same token you can call it Susan or cumquatif you like. As that is not the widely accepted usage for the term 'Tier' in the game it cannot be said to apply here.
[/ QUOTE ]
*I* did not initiate the use of the term 'TIERS'. But Please, By all means, continue to argue with me as if I *DID.
I'm sure it gives your life great joy. -

I wonder if the tier 4 power will still require that you pick 2 before it, or if it will only require that one?
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no Tier 4.
There is the 1st Tier (Where you can pick two powers).
Then there is 2nd Tier, which requires that you have one of the 1st Tier powers and 12th level.
There there is the 3rd Tier, which requires 2 powers of 1st and 2nd Tier and 20th level.
So I'm not exactly sure how this unlock works. Does the badge allow you to unlock 2nd Tier and 6th level along with 1st Tier travel powers? And then you can get 3rd Tier at 12th Level?
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course there is a tier 4 - Group Fly, Group Teleport, Vengence, etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those are each the 4th POWER in each pool, which is the Third Tier in the pool.
Powers 1&2 = Tier 1 (Recall Friend + TP Foe)
Power 2 = Tier 2 (Teleport)
Power 3 = Tier 3 (Group Teleport)
The first two powers are in their own tier, then the second power, then the third.
[/ QUOTE ]
As I said before, this is how I always thought about it. But, the point that in your primary you also choose either the first or the second power and there is still considered to be 9 tiers instead of 8 seems to counter this.
