Maybe immortals tried dating and it just never worked out. Being with someone for 60 years without the bright promise of the sweet release of death might turn into a bummer.

Quote:Coolness is in the eye of the beholder, but here are my three.Hey all, I'm thinking I might do up a Russian/Soviet themed piece next month, and was wondering if anyone had some super kool themed characters that I could use.
Mind posting a screenie ortwo if you're cool with their use?
Starshina Mir is a Peacebringer while TT is a Warshade.
Red Square is a Dual Blades/Willpower Brute.

That looks very cool. Is he a Japanese demon of some sort?

Where in the big pic is the detail hint?

I had the fun... and learned something new, to boot!
Sorry about disappearing during the AV run -- my internet stopped working mid-flight. Zeeowww... boom. -
RWZ was full. MC in RWZ 2. Going AFK for dog maintenance, be back in a few.

How do you know that wasn't a zombie?
Just answer the question! -
I didn't see anyone asking specifically for this to be added to this pack. I saw a lot of people saying they had assumed beast parts would be in the pack given Positron's teaser from a few months ago. If they threw in another dozen (or heck, even a half-dozen) useful beast pieces, I'd change my mind about this booster and buy it without hesitation.

Quote:The two packs I bought I did so because there were numerous pieces I liked. The ones which only had one or two pieces I liked were given a pass.Has there ever been a booster pack that you loved every bit of? Most folks are paying for just one or two things in any pack they buy, and rarely if ever use the rest. Better to add something popular to a pack that wasn't getting much positive reviews in order to get it into more hands rather than just sit on their hands and allow all that negativity to fester for the next one. Like it or not, that's smart business, and that's what all this is really all about: How to get more people to part with more money.
The problem with this -- for me -- is that the wolf/fox tail is so iconic to comics and I can use it on a few of my characters. Ultimately I can't justify spending $10 for a single costume piece, so this fails for me, and it's the sort of thing that keeps me conflicted about the game. It also fails for Paragon Studios, because this addition, by itself, isn't going to convince me to spend money. I just feel nickel and dimed by this type of behavior, which means I feel less likely to spend money on other boosters in the future. -
I have trenched up Monster Child, ready for action!

Quote:I'm really hoping it's not a cynical move. I really, really do.I see it as both.
David said "Hey, we already have this tail that The Sexxy One has been working on, and (many) people thought that the Mutant Booster would be about animal parts and are disappointed... waitaminit... 2+2=... Hey! I have a great idea!"
Meanwhile, marketing said "Muahahahahaha! Brilliant! This will get the unwashed to buy more Mutant Booster packs! Great idea!" -
Quote:As I said in the other thread, this addition has me torn.Normally I would agree Sam, but I know for a fact that there would be no compelling reason to make the wolf tail unlockable. They just wouldn't. We've had absolutely free costume parts in the past that did not require unlocking.
Also, just to send the message home:
I was originally planning on buying the Mutant Booster, since I actually like the Organic Armor and Bioluminescent costumes a whole lot, but the sudden inclusion of the wolf tail feels like a cheap marketing ploy and makes me feel that Paragon Studios is losing a grip on its principles, so I think I'd rather keep my $20.
I'll keep pushing this as hard as I can prior to June 24th, because I know after that they will never budge for fear of upsetting those who really did pay $10 just for a wolf tail.
The posts I made in favor of fluffy wolf-fox-skunk-raccoon-lemur-coyote-etc. tails were specifically aimed at a full-on Beast Pack if they weren't going to be added for free. I don't care for the Mutant Pack, and this doesn't fit in thematically with the rest of the pieces. It feels like an add-on in order to squelch disappointment in the pack and boost sales of this booster.
Don't get me wrong, listening to the playerbase is a great thing, and this looks like a terrific addition... it's just bundling it with the Mutant booster is the wrong way to go about this.
I can't really justify spending money for 14 things I don't want to get the single thing I do want. If, however, the art team were to kick out the stops and add another dozen pieces to the Mutant Pack and make it more of a Beast Pack (wolf heads, dog heads, bird heads, bird tails, animal claws to replace the weapon set Claws, etc.), then I'd be fully on board. Otherwise I agree with Ian and the others who see this as a cheap marketing ploy.
Please don't make me lose my guy love for you, David. -
Quote:DOOOOOM!HELLO THAR!!! (Oops caps.)
I received my one year veteran badge yesterday. (I don't say much on the forums, although I read a lot here.) I have 12 heroes and 3 villains, with a few sitting on the fence pending Going Rogue. I've bought several of the super boosters now, and pre-purchased Going Rogue. I play almost every night after work (CoH is my wind-down method), even if it's just for a couple of hours; but my highest level is only 43.
I love reading all the stories and clues and contact bios during missions, creating and updating my characters bios as they grow and change throughout their adventures (this might be my favorite part), and just started using Virtueverse.com too.
I read comic books, especially Marvel. I also read and write science-fiction. But for me, personally, there's nothing that can hold a candle to the uniqueness of this nightly fictitious experience that's as much my creation as it is Paragon Studios. Paragon Studios has built a comic book universe that is at once familiar and original, and I've carved my own creations into a corner of that universe.
And it has improved my life. I don't think I've suffered writer's block at all in the past year, having this constant scratch for my creative itch. And it helps me relax (most nights), and clears my head of daily worries about work and bills, as I enter into the fictitious lives of my characters and their friends. I sleep 7 or 8 hours a night now, probably for the first time in my whole life.
I could go on and on. Mostly, I just want to express thanks. Especially for the community that keeps all of this alive; for Matt "Positron" Millar, for his unceasing genius; for War-Witch, for overseeing Going Rogue (and the deeper nuances it will help bring to my characters); and for Rick Dakan, who I understand wrote much of the original storyline and comics.
I never thought an MMO could be good for me--as in healthy--but CoH is good for me!
Kidding.Have some anniversary rep, Cap.

Chronovore is an awesome name. I don't care if it's correct or not (nor do I know).

Quote:I took my character to the lake at the bottom of the Steel Canyon tailor at night. Other than Dark Astoria, that's about as dark as the game gets. Nada. Are you folks who aren't seeing the glows... not in a dark area?
Recently in the costume re-design thread I posted a screenshot that clearly showed I wasn't getting the same kind of reflections from Ultra Mode that others were while in the character creator screen, Once I rebooted and took the toon into the game world, the reflections were fine, and they were then fine in the character creator. After the recent patch they went back to being dull again. I changed no settings in the meantime. I'm not surprised there might be a glitch. After all, I suffered from the Accuracy Bug for years, where using powers like Aim and Build Up actually decreased my accuracy rather than increased it. Computers do funny things sometimes. -
Mine aren't. My computer can run everything, so I have it set *to* run everything.
-
I think there must be a bug, since I have Ultra Mode fully enabled and I don't get that glow, either. (Yes, I'm using a light color, yadda yadda -- it's simply not working for me.)
-
Okay, I pulled the screenshot into Photoshop and lightened it up. I don't know what those costume pieces are, but they aren't Praetorian Clockwork.
