As a proud member of both of the aforementioned groups (more so marketeering than farming, but I have been known to LR--->SC a demon or two), I am curious who the general forum population hates more. So let's find out.
A quick 1v1 hurt/heal. Hurt the one you hate, heal the one you like (or hate less).
Note:"Ebil Farmers" is limited to those who farm legitimitely through AE or dev created content. The AE exploiters are something far beyond Ebil, and should not sully the good name of legitimate Ebil Farmers.
You can not vote consecutively or within the same hour. Meaning if you vote at 2:30 you can vote again at 3:00. If you vote at 3:00 you can't vote again until 4:00, and so on.

Different team make-up will require employing different strategies for success. That is to to say this game is very multi dimmensional as far as methods of success. You could have a team full of DPS and just bash and smash your way to victory, you could have a team of controls/buffs/debuffs and finesse your way to victory, you could have a team of tanks and survive your way to victory, or you can mix and match and still succeed. Most AT's and powersets offer some sort of damage mitigation even for squishies. "healorz" are not necessary for victory. Everyone can survive provided they employ the right strategies.
The important part is to play with people who like to have fun and are willing to work together, which fortunately makes up about 99% of the people I have met in CoX.
Edit: Welcome to the good side of the Force, where there is no dps meter and "n00b" is a bad word. -
I'm sorry to interrupt this thread, and I'm gonna let you finish, but Rude Tells is the greatest thread of all time.

My apologies if a similar thread exists, but a quick search yielded no results. I thought I would create a thread for folks to post their faviorite character bios. One of my favorite things to do in-game is run around and read the interesting/terrible/offensive/funny/unoriginal/epic bios that people come up with for their characters. I try to write an interesting, or at least entertaining, bio for each of my toons. My favorite by far is my WM/Invuln Praetorian brute. A redneck from Alabama by the name of Roscoe Forest.
"Me and my brother Cletus was watchin the race and drinkin beer and we got real drunk and passed out. When we woke up we was in some yankee city I aint never seen before with a buncha robots and such walkin around. Everybody was talkin bout some Cole fella done took over the world and nobody didnt know nothin bout America and they was all a buncha darn commies and I told Cletus, We aint in Bama no more man, we gotta get home before Talladega or im goin be madder n' a snake man. Cletus found hisself a rifle and I got me a baseball bat and we went to bashin commies till we can get back to Alabama. Skynyrd RULES!"
So go ahead, post your favorite bio (screenshots are nice to look at too).

I am relatively new to the game and forums, so please forgive me if this has been suggested or is already in place in the game, but I couldn't find a thread and am not aware of such a feature. Newbie disclosure over, now for my thoughts.
I think it would be exceedingly cool to have a large Mission Computer in the SG bases that functions somewhat like radio missions by providing on demand missions so SG mates can meet up in the base to do some general heroing SG style. Not sure if it is possible, but perhaps the team leader could even select a level appropriate enemy group or NPC villain to go after, and the computer would pop out a mission. To add to this, I would like to have a hangar with a jet, or some other vehicle to serve as the "entrance" to these missions. I just like the thought of meeting in a "war room" and picking an enemey group or AV to go after. -
Much of the mission text in the rogue missions refer to lining your own pockets. If he is doing these thing to benefit the super group and not himself, then rogue doesn't really fit if you are following the game's definition of a rogue. I would go vigilante, and if you are feeling extra extreme, hop over to the Rogue Isles and join a newspaper team.

Since Cole as a full blown incarnate was not able to defeat Hamidon, but only succeeded in containing him, my best guess is that once we have all 10 incarnate abilities, they will introduce a new Hami raid in Praetoria that will require multiple teams of incarnates to defeat him once and for all. I would say i25ish.

Invoking Godwin's Law as a means of "winning" a discussion that is inherently related to genocide is a fallacy as the actions of the Nazis and the comparisons are relevant to the discussion at hand.
Seconded -
Thanks for the input everyone. I have already noticed the long animation time for my KM attacks, but I can live with that. I actually love the way the set looks so far. As for regen, I was a bit worried about it because I once had a /regen stalker who was terrible, but I think the scrapper's additional HP is making all the difference. So far, I am really enjoying this toon.

For my first character (which is the one I am most attached to and love to RP) I got in mind my favorite superhero, which in my case is Superman. I thought about the things that I liked about his character. He is undeniably good, well liked and respected by his peers, and just plain iconic. Then I built my own hero around those concepts. You might think I ended up with a Superman clone, but it actually wound up in a fairly different place. Think hard and spend a lot of time on your bio. I find I am much more attached to characters when I write bios for them before playing the first mission. I loved the character so much that when GR came out, I made his Praetorian counterpart and now can't decide which I like best. Autobiographical characters can work well too. Just think about yourself and the characteristics that would come out if you were behind the mask. I rarely use the costume creator for inspiration, and when I do, the character usually feels pretty thin. The costume should be a reflection of the hero, not the other way around.

So I made a toon based entirely on concept and not so much on effeciency. He is the Praetorian counterpart to my Primal Earth nrg/nrg blaster. My blaster got his powers from a laboratory accident while perfoming an experiement (cliche, I know, but cliche superhero is sort of what I was going for). In Pratorian Earth, said accident never occured, but he set himself up with tech that grants him superpowers, more specifically, kinetic melee and regen. I simply would like to know if this is a good combo, as I don't see it discussed much on the boards and haven't seen many toons with it. So far, I have soloed to level 7 and love the way it looks. Is is a decent set? Is it underpowered? Will I be shunned from teams? Just seeking general input and feedback on this powerset combo. Thanks!

It isn't a terrible idea, but I think giving Materminds the ability to customize pet costumes would acomplish your goal. If I wanted to make a Batman/Robin-esque team, I could roll up Ninjas/Traps MM and make my Ninja look like a sidekick instead of a ninja. We just need the ability to take the tier 3 pet without having to have the first 2 tiers (which may already be possible as my MM is only lvl 4 atm so my knowledge of the AT is limited) so people who only want one sidekick could have it. I have always thought costume customization for pets would be totally awesome. So many more possibilities for RPers especially. I would also like to see my Ninja MM with a different attack option than archery. Not sure if that is feasable though.
EDIT: The best option is to go out and make a friend in game, and ask them if they would like to set up a hero/sidekick duo and run missions together. It is a multi player game after all. -
LOL...yup, guess that why they call it Godwin's LAW. It truly is unavoidable. I am sorry that I had to be the one to draw such a trite parallel, but I do feel it is applicable in this particular case.
@Pedro, Praetoria might have been intended by the devs to be viewed in shades of gray, but BOTH factions are employing evil means to reach their ends. Praetoria is neither shades of gray, nor black and white. It is all black. -
Quote:Good intentions do not justify evil actions. Hitler, in his own mind, had good intentions; to create a world filled with the perfect race. Sounds pretty nice, eh? I'm sure we can all agree that Hitler was evil, regardless of his intentions.GG,remember that,on this same dialogue,Tyrant says he BELIEVES in the Praetorian Utopia, and that the chaos of Primal Earth is taking Primal to a path of self destruction.Cole believes that he's doing the RIGHT THING,that some sacrifices are necessary to save mankind from itself. We cannot,I repeat, cannot look at Praetoria with white and black lenses.

I can certainly understand the argument that the arc is too difficult for a level 20 fresh out of Praetoria, and perhaps should not have been presented as the first challenge to those players, however, I do not accept "It's too hard" as an argument that something isn't good. If it's too hard, level up, get some friends, adjust your settings, employ different strategies, etc. Ever read a comic where the featured hero can't handle a task by themselves? It happens, they try new things, the good guy wins. I am primarily a solo player, but would never attempt this solo because the scope is too large for one hero. I was able to do it with relative ease with a team of two (elec blaster and kin defender). Yes we died, and we had to discuss strategies in a lot of places, which made it that much more fun.
As far as the writing goes, I try not to pay too much attention. It's a video game. If I want good writing, I'll grab a Vonnegut novel. -
Quote:I think your char's alignment will depend more on his motives and less on his actions. Why does he want to earn money for the Supergroup? Is he supporting their morals or just trying to boost their notoriety in the hero community? Are the goals of the Supergroup itself heroic? I think if he is supporting the heroic morals of the SG by employing questionable methods, that falls sqaurely into the category of vigilante. If he is doing it just to get the Supergroup noticed (i.e. prestige gain) or to make himself look good within the Supergroup, then he is definitely a rogue.Ok, so I made a character who's concept is supposed to be a Vigilante who raises funds for his Supergroup. However, he is totally devoted and an extremist, so he would do things such as rob a bank if it means getting the money for the group. Bad things for good reasons, sounds Vigilante, eh? However, we also got Rogues, who specialize in that type of stuff. I am thinking I might make him become a Rogue, but stay in the Supergroup (even if it means no base access). That seems it would make ALOT more sense, but so would being a Vigilante in this case. I'm stumped. Anyone have any thoughts on which alignment to make him?
Focus on the motives, not the actions. I believe it is the motives that define your character. Just my 2 inf. -
I just had a thought. Keith Nance totally owns as an ally in the latter mission. He is a total BAMF who runs in to spawns without hesitation and wipes them out. Now, I've run the ITF countless time and was never terribly impressed with the assistance Imperious provides, but drop Keith Nance in there and watch the f*** out!!
This is what led me to a new theory. Are we really supposed to believe that seeing Keith Nance in action in the same issue release as the itroduction of the Incarnate system was a coincidence? I think not.
Keith Nance = Incarnate BAMF -
Awesome! Thank you kindly. I will take a look at it tonight when I get home from work. I am certainly not opposed to switching side to pick up the patron power pool.

Quote:In that case, @ecliston, Valhalla's Guard, Freedom ServerOh, because I'm lazy, just post global and name of SG here, and I'll gleemail you the inf.
(P.S. There's nothing wrong with getting bonus prestige for doing the right thing that you were going to do anyway. Seriously, what else am I going to do with it, threaten the top 5 SG's on Virtue?) -
-
My SG, Valhalla's Guard (Freedom), is well aware of the Real World Hero program, and it's nice to see the word being spread. Kudos! You've already burned some inf for the benefit of our SG, so I will stand aside and let others benefit from your generosity. Just wanted to give a thumbs up.

Very cool idea! I'll be watching your progress. Too bad I'm a Freedomite or I would join you on this journey.
