  1. There's only two of mine I could imagine in something like this:

    Beatific 1
    Beatific 2
    Beatific 3
    Beatific 4

    or:

    Ultrahard 1
    Ultrahard 2
    Ultrahard 3
    Ultrahard 4

The right arm isn't robotic it's just a part of the costume

Oh yeah forgot to add the month, April would be cool

Summer Thunder is my favorite of the set. The gauntlets and the details go well with the powers -- and it's a cool pose to boot.

I really like the shapes and details of most of your costumes, but yeah, I'd have to say they get lost in the black pallette. Lighten up. The world's a happy place!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh no it isn't.
  3. I play with the default setup, other than having the three power tray bars up like yours of course.

Thank you all for the suggestions. You've given me some fresh ideas.

hrmmm...kind of a toughy given you went 'dark' with Wicked. perhaps going to red for Hecate or be really daring and have her in lighter tones to help define the difference between the two. I would definately stay away from Wickeds colors though....that way they are clearly two different people.

just a random thought on the matter...hope it helps a lil~

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree. While black and purple are fun, I don't want them to look the same. I was trying to stay away from the classic villain colors of black and red, but I'm not sure what other colors to try.

btw, I forgot to tell you guys that Wicked is a dark/dark defender while Hecate is a necro/dark mastermind. The fact that Hecate commands zombies who wind up wearing medieval armor almost make me wanna give her a costume with medieval attributes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Evil-lyn from He-Man had bright blue in her costume, maybe that's why she wasn't very evil though?

Anyway you could try black and white, it's used a fair amount though or maybe something like this:

    Necessary Evil

Ah I might as well throw my hand in with this one:

    Royal Regent 1

    Royal Regent 2

    Royal Regent 3

    Nice costume

Thanks, I was tempted to use his 1940's one as I'd simplified this one a little from what it was.

Wow, Statesman has his own Newspaper!
    Cool!

    But....

Shouldn't he be useing a Police Scanner.....
    Wait!....
    ....Statesmans a Villain?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I thought the same thing when I saw the post title.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes he switched sides, why do you think we now have:

    The New Statesman

It's pretty easy to make something with the half-helmet, now the Arachnos one that's another story......

    [/ QUOTE ]

True, but I've seen two costumes now with the Arachnos Wolf Spider helmet that looked awesome.

They're hard helmets to work with, but if you can get the look right, they are, to repeat, awesome.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I take it they were Arachnos themed characters? it'd be interesting to see if you can make them work without it?

    Heh...

Who is the pic of? Where's it from?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can't remember his name but I've seen him before, he was in that Superman/Batman comic where Luthor wants Superman arrested because of a giant piece of Krypton is heading straight for Earth, he was in one of the panels with a lot of the other villains trying to collect their "bounty" although he looked a lot like Captain Mako in that one it must be said.
  11. Way cool, I think at some stage I'll have to see about having one of mine done, eventually.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    Hi!

I tried this with Green Regis and I'd like to see what you can come up with:

    Aleph Null
    Mind/Energy Dominator, Science Origin
She's a Portal Corp researcher that was trapped in a portal event horizon/void dimension for a subjectively infinite time. Beyond mad and back to something like sanity.

More Background: I figure she's probably been in hospital for a while after her accident, most likely in a coma. After waking up she would have landed in the Zig pretty quickly as she explored her powers in a fairly sociopathic way.

    Costume:
I've got a near complete mental block with this character. I prefer a relatively normally proportioned human female and I don't mind that head/hat/mask combination but I'm fairly unhappy with the rest. That could partly be the colour scheme and partly because I can't come up with a rationale to explain spikes and skulls with this character.

I had her shelved until I8 was live and I was going to play with the new costume options.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like that one already, the only thing I would possibly change is the orange on the costume parts to a red colour instead.
  13. The other problem with bases is that they're, well, just a bunch of boxes fitted together, if they looked like for example the Council bases or a Crey lab I wouldn't of minded.

Also the bit about how people don't like making money for expensive bases only to have the SG "leader" make all the design decisions is no different to how almost all of CoV feels, villains seem to pretty much work for "other" people, like Arachnos for very little gain even if by the end of it you are deemed to be your "own" villain who rules their own destiny by Recluse himself, well too little too late you've pretty much reached the end of the PvE content by that stage.

Heroes have a very defined role and purpose in CoH you do things because you are the hero and bringing villains to justice is a very big part of that, although it is linear to a degree it still feels like you are effecting change by yourself or with your team mates.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    <QR>

People askig if Recluse is an Incarnate of Hades/Zeus/whatever-else: NO. He's an Incarnate of Tartarus, which, at least in the myths I know, is the realm Hades rules, but in the CoX mythos, seems to be a person/god. But then again, Gaia 'is' the Earth, so Tartarus-as-entity makes some sense in that context.

EDIT: And /e mansquee I posted in a thread Manticore posted to! I can die happy now - the only thing better would be a)to ding 50, b)to post in a thread and then Manticore posts in it, or c)to actually be replied to/quoted by Manticore...

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are other ideas about that as well: Tartarus
  15. I remember creating my first character, Tarantu-claw on Protector but never used him and ended up deleting him because surprisingly I couldn't find a costume I liked, until now that is.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Since it wasn't mentioned in the game update, and we haven't heard a peep from Cryptic about it since May, I'm not so sure we'll see Legends system or any sort of post-50 content in I8.

I'd like to be wrong about that though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey we can always hope that's why I8 was delayed
  17. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    No, they're separate systems.

    Inventions = crafting
Legends system = level 50 content

There may be some overlap, but they aren't the same thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? I recall hearing the legends system had been scrapped in favor of the Invention system.

I might have heard wrong though.

    Xer

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Legends system wasn't scrapped since we are "apparently" going to see the start of it in I8.
  18. I'm pretty lucky to have my brother help me with transfers like this, if he tried running off with my loot I'd just go round and punch him in the head
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Any alternate dimension Statesman/Lord Recluse/Stheno would be an incarnate. So Reischmen and Tyrant should be on that list.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except Tyrant is really weak (so I've observed in game) compared to Statesman and Tyrant's powers are no different than an Energy Melee/Invuln Tanker with the Ancillary Power Pool.
  20. I reckon Reichsman will be an Incarnate when the Fifth Column returns

    Wiki on Fae:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fae

I think in Hero-One's case it would be used more for otherworldly faerie help. Also fits with the whole "fated to die" thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If only we could all have faeries buffing us up

my judgement from the only BotBS-related story arc, I'd say those are quite.. off the BotBS category. For one, they're egyptian themed and are, according to Statesman, Shapeshifters. So, I would suggest a couple things: try and get a vibe of what the BotBS are about by doing "The Book and The Burning" arc by Mr. Bocor and reading all the clues. And second: try and relate the ancient Egyptians to Shapeshifting, to the game.

So IMO, Mirror Spirit (the asian lady) and Hero-1 can't be BotBS.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I'm just not ruling it out. Especially Mirror Spirit because, well I just like the idea of 'sploding my teammates. Also we don't really know much about Hero-One aside from him leading the strike force vs. the Rikti. Just going by various rumors and presumptions I've heard.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hero 1 is Energy Melee/Invulnerability Tanker, his signature power is "Aid From the Fae".

Also if he were to be one of the "epic" AT's I'd say Incarnate would be the likely choice, Hero 1 would be the Incarnate of Destiny, since the name Fae or Faerie originated in the Latin word "Fata" which referred to the three mythological personifications of destiny.

There is a bug while using capes in conjunction with the following on male characters:

    Male->Upper Body->Chest->Tight->Armored Pads

Does not show the cape mantle. It displays the rest of the cape, just not the mantle. It dissapears when this top is selected.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm getting this problem as well.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
I've been looking, but I can't find any substantial information about the titan Tartarus, only the place. Does anybody know anything about this guy?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
From what I remember, there is no Titan named Tartarus. Tartarus is where the Titans are held captive. Although, IIRC, Hesoid described Tartarus as both a deity and a place, maybe a personification. Anyway, it's a CoX mythos novel. I wouldn't be surprised if it's as accurate as Hequat's connection to the RL mythological goddess Hecate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Here it is:

Tartaruchus ("Keeper of Hell") [see temeluch] - Chief of the angels set over the torments of Hell. Tartaruchus alternates with Uriel at this office, Uriel being "chief of the spirits who preside over Tartarus."

Tartarus - the angel who presides over Hell (or a term for Hell itself). The angel, usually Uriel or Tartaruchus, is in charge of the torments of the nether regions, as already noted. There are other angels in these regions see particularly the entry for Duma(h), who is "prince of Hell" and "angel of the stillness of death".

Temeluch (Temeluchus, Abtelmoluchos, Tartaruchus, Temleyakos) - A caretaking angel, protector of children at birth and in infancy; also an angel of Gehenna (Hell) and the "merciless angel, all fire" in charge of torments, to whom souls are delivered at the death of the body.
