Look at a Rad/Rad Corruptor.
It melts the AV's and makes them trivial. -
Before you have the thought police start telling people what to write about their OWN character - perhaps you just send the person a nice note saying glad to see you have a Bio.
Then if they reply as if they want to discuss it with you - then and only then - you start with the superior - I know how you should write your Bio better than you act.
Now after they /ignore you for being a jerk - realize this isn't your game or my game its OUR game and we can play it however we like including badly written Bio's (to your opinion) or no Bio's - to novelette's. -
Fire Tank/Brute/Scrapper / Cold Mastery or Dark Maismia.

Try this combo:
Sirens, Shockwave, Howl, Sirens and repeat!
For the bosses use your heavy hitting single attackson top of your waves. Think of sonic like waves of attacks.
Sleep wave, knockback wave, damage wave, sleep wave and on until they are all dead.
With Ice secondary - my favorite - use shiver to slow them and you also get a SECOND SLEEP! I make my normal solo strike with Ice as:
Sirens, Shockwave, Frozen Aura, Howl, sirens and shiver or a frozen touch with a +2 mag lockdown in it- This is the ultimate ranged blaster. You do not want to be in melee range except to freeze a slowly moving boss. I will drop snowstorm on a boss then Shiver and freeze him.

Different strokes for different folks.
I have an extremely hectic job running as system admin for 700+ people spread over 18 sites.
My friends all know I never check personal emails, because at work I live and die on my response time to support problems. So some nights when I play - I just want to unwind. I want no drama, I want to be told a story and so I limp along doing a story arc. I say no to teams and just - relax.
Other days I am full of energy and happily lead TFs. I will search for exploits.....err find the limits of what the game allows. In short I am up for anything.
So my personal take on the recent push for large raids and teaming to receive gated rewards is mostly negative. I feel much like BZB in that I like to see what effect I am having on the fight and can I get more control, damage or chaos by changing what I do?
I did a 2nd Respec trial last night and the team was full of crazy people. We opened every single door and aggro'd all the freaks in the Terra Volta lab room at once. We had 25+ freak tanks running around. I was on my sonic/Ice blaster and was just throwing any of them that got near a squishie all over the place. It was glorious chaos. I was laughing so hard I was nearly crying.
So I like teaming - when - I - want it. -
I would again say try the sonic/ice blaster.
I was in an ITF last night and our tank went AFK. So I tanked for the team, I handled the alphas and the ambushes in the Crystal mission.
I had to tank Romulus when the tank was killed and did so without dying myself. Afterwards a few players on the team were like man you are like a Dominator on steriods!

Very glad to hear it!
I may have to try that - oh no the alt alarm just sounded. -
A Sonic/Ice blaster is based on range.
Your Primary AoE powers are mostly cones so wider is better. You have 2 sleeps and access to another as your epic.
Shriek Ranged, Minor DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe -Res
Scream Ranged, Moderate DoT(Smash/Energy), Foe -Res
Howl Ranged (Cone), Medium DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe -Res(All)
Shockwave Ranged (Cone), Minor DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe Knockback, -Res(All)
Shout Ranged, Heavy DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe -Res(All)
Amplify Self +To-Hit, +DMG
Siren's Song Ranged (Cone), Minor DMG(Energy), Foe Sleep
Screech Ranged, Minor DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe Disorient, -Res(All)
Dreadful Wail PBAoE, Extreme DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe Disorient, -Res(All), Self -Recovery
Only your Nuke is a PBAoE.
Look at the benefit of your Ice powers:
Power Level Effect
Chilblain Ranged, Moderate DoT(Cold), Foe Immobilize, -Recharge, -SPD
Frozen Fists Melee, Moderate DMG(Cold/Smash), Foe -Recharge, -SPD
Ice Sword Melee, Moderate DMG(Cold/Lethal), Foe -Recharge, -SPD
Chilling Embrace Toggle: PBAoE, Foe -Recharge, -SPD, -DMG
Build Up Self +DMG, +To-Hit
Ice Patch Location (PBAoE), Foe Knockdown
Shiver Ranged (Cone), Foe -Recharge, -SPD
Freezing Touch Melee, Minor DMG(Cold), Foe Hold
Frozen Aura PBAoE, Foe Sleep
I do not take Frozen Fists and only use Ice sword as an IO mule.
Chillblain immobilizes and slows helping you stay at melee.
Chilling Embrace slows and -dam helping you stay at range and if they close you get hit less and for less damage.
Ice patch they flop and can't reach you.
Shiver - see chilling embrace but from range.
Frozen touch - so you can back away. -
A Fire/Dark corrupter.
If you cannot take joy in the crushing of your enemy, driving them before you then perhaps the lamentations of their women will bring a smile.
If by level 20 you aren't happy with having run at 0x8 since level 12 - then there is no pleasing you -
I am still running these pretty much on a nightly basis - not going to continue posting here just watch for the recruiting in Help for a daily Task Force Commander TF

Silent Treatment
Mind/Cold controller. She is the Spirit of Rejection made into flesh. -
Well you could have Territory for Villains and Neighborhoods for heroes.
As a hero it would be his neighborhood the villains are trying to corrupt. The contact work to alert you at early stages but as time goes on you become the one that area looks to for help.
Batman had Gotham and Superman had Metropolis. Obviously as you level other heroes step in to help that neighborhood but you are still in the mix and as I say it adds you to the clone group as you finish the arc. -
I see when your Clone dies in your behalf as quite a tender moment.
They die so you may live, that is about all you can ask of a hero. -
I have a few more minutes currenly let me run some of my earlier thoughts to completion:
1. Territory - I want to be able to slowly undermine the contacts if I choose by stiffing them of their cut of the loot, or working with people they say are trying to take over. Let's say a contact asks me if I want in on a job. They say we are working to steal some cash/weapon/gizmo from the Arachnos. I could go to a contact that would show in the choice menu like you do for Morality missions. I go to that contact and they then give me a chance to turn the tables on my first guy.
This makes an enemy - who then tries to ambush me in missions (of course you win). As I level and out grow the contact I take over his territory. Then other villains running the arcs may get a chance to fight MY CLONE! As the arcs are completed you are added to the Clone database and they end up having to deal with past Villains who claimed that territory.
2. Paragon City - As a villain I get a chance to stick it to the man and head to Paragon and fight missions against actual Hero Clones. It would be a normal mission with an ambush at the end where the heroes step in to try and stop you. I would have some of these as failable in a sense that they stopped you from completing an objective. If the heroes win you still complete the mission you just didn't get everything.
I think we have all of these fun abilities now and have barely touched the surface of what they could do to add depth.
And of course it would work BOTH ways Heroes could come foil Villainous plots as well. -
When I mentioned walking into Paragon as a Villain I meant give me missions where I get to fight the CLONES of active heroes currently on the Blueside!
The mission looks at active heroes -takes a random hero/heroes and plops them into a mission. Redside would do the same for heros.
Come on now we have this wonderful clone thing going now lets extend it out logically!
How much fun would it be to be a Villain stand at the local train and see hero XXX and say - you ain't so tough I whipped you yesterday.......Sorry I didn't run the thought to completion but I was actually working at work! -
Why don't I play villains?
Simple, the chaos I would expect to see doesn't exist in the game. When people are locked into either a complete dictatorship or complete anarchy the results are either Preatoria where you are required by law to be happy and orderly in the Orwell 1984 way - or chaos.
We should either have a shining city on a hill with an underlying corruptness (think Washington DC) or uncontrolled madness where the buildings are random - much like the Winchester house.
No codes on one hand means you build what you like where you like and the resulting confusion is what you want. The City of Villains seems like a Vanilla world with a too dark and grim look. You aren't really a villainous leader - you are just another lackey. It was done completely wrong.
What would I have done?
1. Contacts - they would come to you! They offer a cut of the profits on jobs and you can stiff them if you want keeping the money for your self and making an enemy who then seeks to ambush you as payback or you play along gathering some - respect - for your skills (not trust or loyalty).
2. If I rob a bank - I want the money. If I rob a bank and it is on another villains territory, they will contact me and say either come across with the cash or do a job for them.
3. I want TERRITORY. I want to be able to make areas under MY influence and then if someone butts in (NPC's) I want to have the chance to go after them and then the missions could play out that I am attacking the Lost because they encroached on my turf.
This depth could be simply added but would be a HUGE draw to players. You would be a villain living in your world and your "team" would be the lackeys you hired to help you sort out the interlopers.
4. I want to go into Paragon City and cause trouble. No really travel there and do mission there where I thumb my nose at the heroes. -
People with fun costumes that suit their powers.
Been running nightly TF's and I get Reaper One and Urban Renewal most times on the team. They are fun to have with you and I like their characters! -
We had a great team last night in the Sister Psyche TF - finished it in 1:06 I think it was!
Clamour we defeated before we even realized we were attacking her!
Tonight Citadel 9pm EST! -
One word - Passion.
If all you had were smiling happy faces that were like GG and responded to everything done by the devs with smiles and there was no passion in finding a way to make the good into the great then the game would slowly drift into nothingness.
If I throw a critque out it is for the simple reason that something seems wrong about how we are doing things. I mean remember the old Model T saying - you can get any color you want as long as you want black. People were not happy with just black for very long.
I want content and rewards for solo players, small team folks, large trial players, those who love new costumes, powers, content and so on. To retain and encourage all players to find a way to have fun. -
Well so far we have run Positron 1&2 on Sunday and Synapse yesterday.
Tonight I am planning on a Sister Psyche at 9 pm EST! -
I was pondering the other day and thought it might be a service to the commmunity to run weekly TF mix.
I am considering evenings at 9pm EST:
Sunday - Positron I&II
Monday - Synapse
Tuesday - Sister Psyche
Wednesday - Citadel
Thursday - Manticore
Friday - Numina
Saturday - whatever we feel like.
I am found @iron in game and usually play evenings from 9-11 or so. -
Sonic/Ice is a LOT of fun. Solo it is just crazy and in a team you debuff everything and pour on the damage.
-
I have done ITF's all different ways Speed, Kill most and obliterate every living thing.
With speed ITF's for those who die a lot the key is do you have a character who can withstand the mobs thumping on you while you defeat a Crystal? If not you will die. We do them only complete objectives then scoot.
1. You don't fight all the romans in part one just those holding the seers.
2. Crystals you try to each take one or double up to take them out.
3. usually we do backwards jump forward pull both AV's down and defeat the computer too all at once and then defeat the Generals and friends.
4. we jump straight to Rommie fight him on the stairs and defeat the ambushes to get your traitors or go to a tower to defeat the rest.
Punch out and its over.
Personally I like to do the kill anything in the way. Last night did one with 3 corrs, 3 blasters, 1 controller and an Ice tank. We had Cold shields and 2 thermals and so it was a walk in the park and my blaster was even herding things using chilling embrace. -
"Boom goes the Town" on my Fire/Fire blaster!
-
You know if you had a clue Erratic I would care - but I have in past threads again and again over the years offered you a chance to join an all knockback team - one where EVERYONE uses whatever powers they want.
You never bother and so I won't bother with you any longer.
A mention of blasters from you is always followed by KNOCKBACK. I assume someone once knocked your cat out of the window or something. Your aversion to knockback and the style you must play on a team where everything must be neatly stacked in its place before anyone is allowed to attck would have me quitting in 5 minutes.
Perhaps you were the leader the other day when in an 8 man TF the leader insisted each time we stay together and wait for the tank each time - mean while we had split into 2 - 4 man groups just tearing up 2 separate locations with no danger. The leader kept screaming and complaining that this wasn't the best idea all while we cleared the mission in just a few minutes.
After the end of that mission I asked - are you going to tell us how to play the entire TF? He said well I am leader - I quit and so did 5 other players.
So please let me know what your global is in case you aren't on my /ignore already. My global is @iron so please do me the favor of ignoring me.
