Sonic Blaster--Worst solo? Worst ever?
Step 1) Use Siren's Song to put a mob to sleep.
Step 2) Wake them up one at a time with Screech.
Step 3) Kill the one you woke up.
Step 4) Rinse. Repeat.
Problem solved.
Unless you're concerned about sheer speed, in which case, hoverblast with some ranged defense and you're good.
Sonic is one of the BEST soloing blaster sets, not entirely sure what your issue with it is.

At that setting, a Sonic/ Blaster--unless up against Sleep-resistant enemies--should hardly be getting hit, let alone defeated. Have you got, and use on every mob, the wonderful brokenness that is Sirens Song?

My Sonic/Devices is rarely even attacked, let alone defeated. But he can also fire Siren's Song from hiding as well. Cloaking Device + Stealth IO in Hover = total invisibility.

I'll admit that I had to eat a bunch of Insps to beat Manticore, but I'm relatively sure that I was running at +2/x4 (it's just what I run at on my Sonic/ Blaster, so I'm assuming here). Any of the other Boss/EB/AV fights, it was really just a matter of jousting, cornering, etc.
Although the Mag 5000 Sleep I got hit with at the end of the Psyche/Malaise arc got me. [Wall of Text] is unavoidable, IIRC.
This input makes sense. I have to admit I have never been a fan of sleeps so rarely use/think to use. I will need to change my strategy for this guy. At least I know.

Try this combo:
Sirens, Shockwave, Howl, Sirens and repeat!
For the bosses use your heavy hitting single attackson top of your waves. Think of sonic like waves of attacks.
Sleep wave, knockback wave, damage wave, sleep wave and on until they are all dead.
With Ice secondary - my favorite - use shiver to slow them and you also get a SECOND SLEEP! I make my normal solo strike with Ice as:
Sirens, Shockwave, Frozen Aura, Howl, sirens and shiver or a frozen touch with a +2 mag lockdown in it - This is the ultimate ranged blaster. You do not want to be in melee range except to freeze a slowly moving boss. I will drop snowstorm on a boss then Shiver and freeze him.
The worst soloing set for Blaster is Assault Rifle IMO.
Sonic Blast is actually a good soloing set!
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I have been running a bunch of my blasters through the SSA arcs. All of them are non-50s and non-IOed. I am running at -1/1 for all. I am running them only for the Hero Merits and not as a comparison. The problem is, none of them have had any problems whatsoever EXCEPT my Sonic/Ice. I didn't look for it or expect it, but each time I was playing that character, I had to use many more inspirations and really strategize instead of just running through as fast as I can. I can't tell you numbers and rationale and I am sure there are ways to play him better, but it was just very shocking to have him so much harder to succeed than the others.
