This could also be applied to those Faultline tunnel entrances. The fact that there is dispute over them should be an indicator that something is "off" in the implementation.

The first time I ran those mishes was with a veteran player and, since I was new, it was all I could do to follow full bore and just keep up... I barely noticed where the entrances were. When I had to run them myself, I was at a complete loss and completely frustrated... the fact that I'd run them before was just salt in the wound.
  2. Any gamebreaking bugs would have been fixed by now.

That means that all bugs at this point are not considered gamebreaking. Applying the "gamebreaking" criteria is pointless.

Nevertheless, they are still bugs and should be addressed. I would assume then, that a new level of criteria would apply to determine which bugs get addressed first. I don't think anyone except a dev can say what those criteria are at this point....

But one might guess that at least one criteria could be "if enough folks complain about something" ... maybe.

    Good point there, Rod

lol. Actually, I'm not "freaking out". I'm simply responding to the same somebody who has no idea what level priority it is but has decided to dispute my position that it should be a priority based on the inequality of gameplay that the bug presents.

All I'm saying is that I think it SHOULD be a priority. And I think I've given good reason why.

Somebody else has decided that my position is not valid, and has decided to press a debate on it.... despite the fact that, as you pointed out, they probably have no idea what level priority it is either. *shrug*
  4. On my kin/arch defender, I usually tend to stay mid-range-ish. But occasionally the battle will get bottlenecked and, since it's important for me to see a target for my kin powers, I'll use my combat jumping to hop over the bottleneck and attack from the other side.

Sometimes, though, I'll end up jumping MUCH further than I intend.... like into the next mob.... because I still have super jump toggled...

It's irrelevant whether we lived without them before or not. One brand new shiney breaking an "older" shiney, does not make it okay.

If everyone lost the bonus equally, then your point might carry more weight.

That is not the case. Some are getting the bonus if they're sk'd, others are not getting it if they're exemp'd.

A level 40 sk'd to a lvl 45 gets their bonuses... another level 40 exemp'd to a lvl 35 does not get their bonuses.

It's a question of the inequality that is the issue.

    Irrelevant.

If everyone is supposed to get the same bonus on leveling, and some players are not getting it while others do, that is an inequality in gameplay.

Inequalities of that sort most certainly should be a priority.

Wait.... so everyone else who isn't exemped gets their leveling bonus inspies? but if your exemped, you don't get them? In the interest of equality, how can that not be a priority?

No, they sting. At least the ones over here do. (And at the moment they're in their grumpy "It's cold and I'm going to die soon" modes so they're best avoided)

Dunno if they bite too, usually the sting is enough.
Actually, yellow jackets are carnivores... they do indeed bite - and sting.

First instance: I was picking hazelnuts one chilly autumn day. There were some yellow jackets around, but I ignored them because I was wearing a nice, sturdy leather coat. When I got back to the car, I heard a buzzing rather close to my ear... I pulled off the coat, turned over the lapel, and was fascinated (& terrified) to see a yellow jacket chewing on the leather!

Second instance: Car camping at a little spot by a creek in one of the many national forests in WA. Could not pull out any food without getting swarmed by yellow jackets within 5 minutes. I am actually terrified of the damn things, and was in a state of near hysterics while trying to fend them off. My BF at the time was a quick thinker, thank goodness... he pulled out his fishing gear, and caught a small trout out of the creek. He then rigged a bee trap with the fish meat. Hooked up a bit of fish meat, and dangled it halfway into a cup with water in the bottom of it. He added just a drop of dish soap to the water to break the surface tension. The yellow jackets would gorge on the meat, fall into the water and drown. We had to add meat and change the water a good half dozen times. Within a few hours, our campsite was yellow jacket free. I kinda felt bad about decimating the yellow jacket population that way, but the birds didn't mind.

As to names.... sorry, I think everyone already came up with all the good ones.
  9. First of all, you will need to be on a toon that has editing permissions.
Editing permissions are granted by rank through the SG settings screen.

Then, you go to the storage unit you wish to change, and click on the "show permissions" button. Edit them as desired. You will need to do this for each individual storage unit (bin/table/rack).

We have our permissions staggered: anyone can place an item in any rack or bin, but only higher ranked toons can take from rare/high level storage units.

  11. I ran a few AE mishes this weekend.

The population in the building was noticeably.... sparse.

After gleaning a mere 150 tix on even the new mishes (post i16), I can understand why. I did manage to get almost 600 tix from one mish, but it's still a far cry from what it used to be.

Still and all, I was able to accomplish my goal of getting the salvage I needed for the purple recipe that was sitting in my pocket... and is now up for sale in WW.

Now, off to run regular content again.

    Railing

Most folks use the reading-style lamps and overlap them for a "rail with bars" kind of look.

If you are looking for a cleaner line with only one or two bars, you might try floating a line of overlapping rectangular vents on a cubical (take away the cubical & voila!), then use the lamps again for the bars.

Mind you, I haven't actually tried the second idea... but it's been "floating" around in my head for a while.

    good luck
  13. I have it set up as a two file rotating bind:

    Flight1.txt
    numpad0 "powexec_name sprint$$powexec_name hover$$bind_load_file c:\CoH_binds\flight2.txt"
    uparrow "+forward$$powexec_name hover$$powexec_name fly"
    leftarrow "+turnleft"
    rightarrow "+turnright"
    downarrow "+backward$$powexec_name hover$$powexec_name fly"
    space "+up"
    x "+down"

    Flight2.txt
    numpad0 "powexec_name sprint$$powexec_name hover$$bind_load_file c:\CoH_binds\flight1.txt"
    uparrow "+forward"
    leftarrow "+turnleft"
    rightarrow "+turnright"
    downarrow "+backward"
    space "+up"

The first press (file1) will turn off sprint, turn on hover and toggle to fly when moving forward or back.

The second press (file2) will turn sprint back on and hover/fly off.

There is a caveat.... if you get detoggled, you should be able to get back on track by moving forward or back... but sometimes it doesn't reset. It may take a few extra presses to reset the binds properly.

Overall, though... I really love this set of binds.
  14. The silence from the Devs on the subject of bases has been thunderously deafening.

This was my first thought as well, 'though I don't know the actual name of their SG.

    Auto lvl option

OP, there are two factors that affect your "combat level" now.

The first, is your "personal difficulty" setting. This can be adjusted at a "Field Analyst" found in most every zone. It used to be just 4 options, but now it's much more customizable. check it out.

The second is your "team difficulty" setting, which has to do with the new SuperSideKicking/exemplar system. In the options menu, you can set the "level spread" for when you receive notification of this status change. It will not actually change the supersidekicking function... just the level at which a notice will come up for you to accept the change or not (if you don't accept the change, you will be auto booted from team, I believe).

So, if you are the only person running a mish, and you are running levels that don't seem right to you... my guess would be you need to change your "personal difficulty" settings... go see a field analyst.
  19. logged in, got badges, working on options.... then I realized....

    there was no new MOTD...

EDIT: and 5 minutes later, a very abbreviated MOTD pops up... lol

Be patient, most folks are probably in game at this time. It might take a while before you get responses. You might want to take a gander at some of the "common issues" threads over there while you're waiting. Never know, there might be a solution out there already.

Ahhhh... you may be right. My P-wiki search fu must be weak, I couldn't find anything specific either way.

All I do know is that my kin and rad's will be doing the happy dance when i16 rolls out.
