  1. Why did the devs choose to remove the costume parts with these names and such? Not that it matters as I don't have any on my characters but I'm just curious as to why.
  2. Well... Just to make it easy for everyone to see what I'm planning this is the build I'm thinking about using. I have everything on here now except of course combat jumping in place of maneuvers and oppressive gloom in place of assault. Slotting of the powers is a lil different from what I'm running now but very close.

  5. I finally finished getting my spines/dark scrapper to level 50 and used a respec to make sure he was slotted to farm.

    Got all my enhancements slotted in for all the good IO set bonuses.

    Set up my farm mission and go in... jump into the first mob, get their attention then run for the next. I get all the vills in melee range then my health bar goes down to nothin! I think... "that's wierd" let's try that again.

    Repeat above another 3 times! lol

    I couldn't figure it out then I thought about the health drain from oppressive gloom. Turned it off and sure enough.... I made it through every mob double stacked with NO deaths.

    That power is dangerous when farming! lol
  6. I understand what you're talking about now. All things being said... How would you slot Death Shroud and Quills?

    I was thinking of slotting them like this:

  7. Stryker.... I'm not sure I totally agree with you about killing at different speeds. I can kill a +3 level mob at the same speed on either my spines/dark or my fire/kin. Obviously the minions die first then the lt's then the bosses. Other than that everything being the same I'm leaning more towards the fast that the radius must be smaller on my scraps auras.

    I'm gonna check out a few sources on the size of the auras to verify but that sounds like the most probable cause.

    EDIT: I just checked out Red Tomax and sure enough... Death Shroud and Quills have an 8ft radius vs 20ft for Hot Feet. I think I'll rethink the damage procs in those powers after seeing that.

  8. I'm just curious about how the damage procs work in certains powers.

    As I understand in toggle powers they have a chance to fire every 10 secs or so against every target in range of the power. In a click power they have a chance to fire every time the power is clicked based on the # of villians hit as in a target AoE or straight AoE. I assume this is correct?

    The reason why I'm asking about this is because I have a lvl 50 fire/kin troller with 4 damage procs slotted into hot feet. I constantly see the procs firing off.

    Level 8: Hot Feet
    (A) Eradication - Chance for Energy Damage: Level 30
    (13) Armageddon - Chance for Fire Damage: Level 50
    (15) Obliteration - Chance for Smashing Damage: Level 50
    (15) Scirocco's Dervish - Chance of Damage(Lethal): Level 50
    (17) Scirocco's Dervish - Accuracy/Damage/Endurance: Level 50
    (27) Multi Strike - Accuracy/Damage/Endurance: Level 50


    I just finished slotting out my lvl 50 spines/dark scrapper and he has 4 procs slotted into quills and 4 slotted into death shroud. I rarely see them fire off.

    The powers are slotted so that I have 42.4% Acc/Dam/End. Figuring that having double the procs I would at least see them fire off as often as in hot feet but I literally only see them fire off once or twice every few mins.

    Is there something with quills or death shroud that make them inherently bad choices to slot damage procs into?
  9. I have quite a bit of experience with these sets. I changed a few things but left most of your power selections alone. It sits at 29.6% defense to S/L but does far more DPS. It's not a cheap build though so hopefully you have a rich toon to borrow from.

  11. I ended up dropping kick (along with 3.75% defense to S/L) and adding in dark regen. I currently have it 4 slotted with

    Touch of Nictus
    acc/end/rech
    acc/end/heal

    Multi Strike
    acc/end

    Theft of Essence
    chance for +endurance
  12. How would you slot dark regen? I have 3 extra slots to toss into it.
  13. The reason you would slot boxing is simple... for 3 slots you get 3.75% defense to smashing/lethal attacks. That adds up to alot for very little investment. I looked at it the same way as you till someone showed me the TRUE value of set bonuses.
  14. I agree with you although I feel that whining, ********, crying or complaining about it isn't going to change the way some people act and chat. This is afterall a game which is meant to go after teenagers who in my observations are not the most caring about this sort of thing. Now I will admit that point also applies to older people who can be just as ignorant and non caring as the next generation too.

    Point being... I don't feel that this is a subject that will get you "flamed" unless some of those same ignorant people jump into the forums and decide to mock you or make fun of your stance. At that point it's truly not being flamed... merely being mocked by ignorant people.

    Now I'm rambling.... LOL

  16. I have my fire/kin/fire build and my fire/kin/stone that I could offer you. I have them on the same toon.... dual build.

    It looks like you have a reasonably priced build that isn't bad. Definately something to build on with more expensive enhances with better bonuses later on.

  18. All I have to say is ROFLMAO!

    I have no problem with people from anywhere in Washington, Idaho or even Montana. The main reason I was looking for people in Spokane specifically is that after getting to know them online maybe we could hang out in RL and chat COH or anything else. have LAN parties or any other geeky COH idea we could come up with.
  19. This is my fire/kin/fire farming build. I use this build to farm Battle Maiden, Demons, Freaks. I have very little problems using him and he is VERY survivable.

  20. Ahh.... I see why I deleted it from my build. It is a click self heal power similar to Healing Flames. I figured if it gave me something other than a click heal I would take it but since it wasn't like Dull Pain giving me a boost in HP and a heal I thought I could live without it and if needed just use an inspiration for an immediate heal.

    I have 260% regen and 39% (42% with the Glad's +3% I have in storage) defense which is far better than some of the spines/dark scrappers I've seen and they farm Battle Maiden and other missions with no major problems so I just figured it was a power I could skip.

  22. I have been working on both a Spines/Dark and Spines/Regen Scrappers. I pretty much have the /Regen covered but I'm wondering what everyone thinks of my /Dark build here. I will be using him mostly for Battle Maiden farming after he is completed. I focused on set bonuses for defense and procs in his AoE minor damage toggle powers.

    As I'm not totally familiar with /Dark I'm hoping to see what everyone thinks and maybe an idea or 2 if I'm missing something that might be helpful.

    Okay... I gotcha. So they do drop (very small chance) from all PvP area zones and Arena on a valid defeat.

    What about that timer thing? I would hate to defeat a person and then because I run into them 4mins later and defeat them again just before the 5min timer I have to wait another 5mins vs just defeating them when they appear again. Does that make any sense?

    I know that the farmers would just sit in arena and set a match for 30mins and just afk kill. I want to maximize my chances without afk killing.

    I can farm and do that alot but I would prefer to not spend 2bil inf per recipe or enhance.

    I know this has been asked before but with all the changes that have happened and my weak searchfu I thought it best to ask straight up.

    How exactly do the recipes drop?

    Are they zone only or can they drop during arena events? What arena events are eligible?

    Is the timer still 5 mins between kills? If so... If I kill villian x and then 4:56 mins later I kill them again does the counter start over (have to wait another 5 mins) or can I just kill them again right away for it to count?

    If I'm missing any questions that need to be asked please feel free to fill them in for me. I really want to spend some time (maybe ALOT) trying to get a panacea +regen-heal/+recovery or glad's +3% defense for a toon I'm working on.
