I can suddenly see Greater Devoured versions of Atlas and Talos as giant monsters. o_o
  2. As people have said, you can always avoid arcs you don't want to do. Just do papers in their place.

Contacts to try out in the Rogue Isles:

    Mercy Island
    - Kalinda (prove yourself to Arachnos, take down a traitor, beat up snakes and infected
    - Mongoose (deal with snake infestation)
    - Seer Marino (fascinating insight into Arachnos)

    Port Oakes
    - Billie Heck (beat up Hellions, stop infighting between two mafia groups)
    - Veluta Lunata (ghost busting)

I'm sure other people can make suggestions for later contacts.

I second this. Ninja Blade/Ninjutsu (or Broadsword/Ninjutsu) will allow a Stalker to survive easily in melee once you get Divine Avalanche/Parry, since with a few swipes, it can softcap your melee def even with DOs.

Super Reflexes will probably be even more survivable, but with Ninjitsu, you get fun toys to use too.

Either way, with Ninja Run and fitness and sprint, you probably won't need a travel power. I took Combat Jumping, but only for slotting purposes, and I can easily make a bind to shift between that and Ninja run:

    /bind T "powexec_name Combat Jumping$$powexec_name Ninja Run"

My nin/nin has actually restored my faith in stalkers... but only probably because my first was a claws which was already considered the weakest set, which got nerfed even more with Eviscerate nerfed into single target only.

    Winter 2010

Some NPCs wearing a santa hat, somehow with their original hair if long still under the hat, though horns can poke out of the hat.

In fact, somehow have helmet wearing NPCs wear santa hats on top of their helmets! Maybe some Arbeiters are in the festive mood and wearing santa hats over their helmets!

I can certainly imagine Synapse wearing one and poor bald Positron wearing one too for the winter season!

But in Recluse's meeting room... maybe not... or perhaps Recluse has forced all of his patrons to wear santa hats no matter how ridiculous they look (with Mako's Crab Spider guards, Ghost Widow's Night Widow guards, Scirocco's Mu Mystic guards, and Black Scorpion guards all attempting not to laugh, or... wearing hats too, much to their disbelief).
  5. Let's face it, when we see the Freedom Phalanx and Vindicators compared to Recluse and his patron lieutenants, something seems a bit off. Sure, some heroes still manage to look vaguely updated, such as Statesman and Positron, but how about Sister Psyche? You see her in the top left corner of the screen (if your screen is big enough), and what do you notice? She's wearing Ring shoulderpads, which her ingame character is missing since issue 1!

Plus, her hairstyle is no longer "Shy" either.

Here's a pic of her on the left, some of her CGI looks, and my attempt on the far right.

    Frankly, she needs:
    - a unique top and bottom which reflects light a bit (basically a Tops with Skin having Sleek option which doesn't exist ingame, along with two colour choices, so she can get two different green tones, along with skin where necessary)
    - adjusted colours to fit her CGI appearance
    - unique hairstyle
    - probably better gloves than the closest ones I've chosen
    - unique belt similiar to Ampules, but with a buckle on the front like her newer CGI appearance

Shoulder rings and combat boots exist in game to fit those parts.

Either way, her model character should be changed to at least update her boots and shoulders (and possibly gloves), and for Going Rogue, a update to her entire wardrobe should probably be done, seeing as it's reasonably likely the whole Praetorian Guard will be getting updated clothing.

Anyone else needing a costume update or other stuff?

I got one: Manticore's height in comparison to his sidekick, Swan. Either shrink her down a tad (and make her clothing more visible, everyone I know has thought she was naked at first glance!), or bump his height slightly. XD

You know like Rikti armor for that outter space sci-fi theme, Carnie outfit for those like myself who like the Carnie's scense of fashion. And of course signature hero stuff like Ms. liberities sword and belt or Statesmen's outfit or Mask...
Signature hero/villain parts are probably a no-go for specific reasons. Mainly because perhaps the Devs want to feel special with their avatars. Speaking of which, Sister Psyche needs a unique hairstyle since her one seems to keep changing in the comics and official CGI artwork!

But I do like the "Enemy Group Parts" idea. Each group has their own thing to contribute. Examples:

Carnies: Masks, ringmistress thigh-high boots and the gloves which go past elbow length
Cimerorans: He-Man chest armour (I dunno what it's called, but it looks great for barbarian types!)
Cimeroran Traitors: Minotaur and Cyclop heads
Crey: Paragon Protector outfits and helmet
Freakshow: Various Freakshow parts like the arms, for example
Wyvern: Boots (since their backpack parts are probably not doable yet)
Kheldians: The SASHES! Good god, why do we not have them yet? XD
  7. Sorry, I should probably post. I rolled an Ice/Earth in the end, and she's doing fine. A combination of ice and earth is lovely, though I wish I could get the crystal effects more like ice. Oh well.

    Thanks for the help!

It shouldn't be difficult to work a shield/axe build into something that's useful for hami raids AND normal teaming.
Well, on one hand, this Hami build might be a good idea to label as such, and use advantage of multibuilds to have a normal build on the other one.
  9. PCSpecialist, as mentioned above, does seem to have a bad habit of forgetting things or accidently supplying the wrong parts, but if you have the warranty plan, all delivery to and back is free, and you can easily correct them over the phone (work hours only!) or via website email.

Laptop, for example - forgot bag and DVD software - one phonecall, and two days later, bag and DVDs arrived via post.
  10. Depends how you fight them. If they're mezzed, then they don't summon. If you kill them too fast, they don't summon.

Not sure on their summon though, I don't think it's interruptable...

My bets lie on them being killed too fast somehow. :3
  11. This is why I try to keep a few thousand AE tickets on each character which has more playtime than others, so I can random roll or directly buy salvage I need if it's going for ridiculous prices.

My general rule of thumb is:
Common salvage - generally pay between 100-500, don't pay more than 1,000 for it
Uncommon salvage - generally pay between 500-1,000, don't pay more than 5,000 for it
Rare salvage - generally pay between 1,000-10,000, don't pay more than 500,000 for it

This is only for me, I know how some people are made out of influence/infamy, so their payment figures are probably 100X bigger. :3

I could actually see that happening.

GM is spotted in Nova Praetoria causing havoc. Praetorian Clockwork automatically go hostile against it (still remaining passive to players, unless they accidently get hit, so be careful with aoes).

If not defeated in a certain amount of time (20-30 minutes?), 8 random Praetorian Guard members (excluding Tyrant) show up as a team and take down the GM. Once they do that, they stick around for poses and autographs while local citizens gather and cheer, before returning to Tyrant's tower (either travel powers, teleport (probably easiest way), or by using Walk animation).
  13. My level 50 ill/rad is probably my most played level 50 alt at the moment. :3

Dropped Flash for EM Pulse, never looked back. :3

(well, maybe I'd take it again if I had a free power slot... but I don't! )
  14. Righto, slotted. Thanks for the info.
  15. Here's hoping Lady Jane will have her powerset altered to use Dual Pistols rather than Mastermind Thugs pistols. Then perhaps she might survive better. XD
  16. Just a quick question:

If Steadfast Protection: Resistance/3% Def is placed into the Ninjitsu power Kuji-In Sha, will the IO always be active (as long as character is not exemplared three levels below either the IO or the power), or is it only active if the power is triggered?

  18. I've been thinking about making a new alt recently, and thought about going back to the archetype which I've barely touched - the Dominator.

So far, I have concepts for either a Gravity/Earth or Ice/Earth. Is there any significant pros and cons with the two?

I generally see Stalkers as Scrappers with stealth, since their damage output, combined with assassin strike and placate for almost guaranteed crit should be fairly similiar to a scrapper. They're just probably not as durable due to lower HP values and altered secondaries.

One of these days, I'll need to try out a combined Scrapper/Brute/Stalker LGTF...

I'm roleplaying an evil character. Key word here is character. Do you ever hear an actor complaining because they're playing a bad guy? Very little difference. It's not ME doing these despicable things. I would never do any of that stuff in real life, because I'm a decent guy with solid morals and ethics. I have some truly evil characters created that don't feel very evil when I read the dialog and mission text.

I want REAL evil!! Not watered down, kid-friendly evil.

I also dislike that no matter what you do in the late game you become an Arachnos lapdog. There is no way most of my characters would conform and be someone else's goon like that. Sure, a couple would, but that's how they're written.
The problem with a truly evil villain is that you'd basically have no missions since your character refuses to be an underling/take orders, and thus, you'll have to make up your own missions in AE. :3

    Character Bios

For most of my characters, a quick bio will be made up for them on their creation. It doesn't matter if it's short, it works as the backbones as to who the person is, and will most likely get expanded.

For others, their bio may come a little while after their creation, when inspiration hits, and sometimes, they'll get their signature uniform changed due to this.

For almost all though, they'll have to somehow join my relationship tree in my head from any angle, even if it's minor.

And putting it to paper gets me this...

Before you ask, yes, it does get a bit confusing. :3
  24. I think what needs to be done is have the tactical training powers for soldiers and widows to be renamed so people KNOW it's different from leadership.

    Tactical Training: Superior Maneuvers

Just like Superior Invisibility from Illusion Control!

(Actually, it's a bit of a mouthful for one power :3)
  25. Using my magic-based alts (since, you know, it is Omega Team and all, which was basically restricted to magic origins only), and also pulling them from an alternate Primal Earth where they existed before the first Rikti War...

Lyrical (teenaged girl, Empath defender), and Iceblink (young adult male, ice blaster)
    Quote:
    Dear Reese,

Every since you became Ideon, everyone in town looked up to you. We were no exception, you know? Being able to save people using super strength, shrugging off bullets with invulnerability, the ability to fly...

I admit I was a little envious, but even so, I was still so proud of you, our eldest brother, doing what's right in this world which needed superheroes.

I'm sorry we didn't tell you we signed up to get powers when the call from the government came out. But you and all the others around the world... you were all so outnumbered. Every allied country had their own drafts, voluntary and involuntary. And because our country used magicial means for us to gain our powers, it also meant if we survived long enough with our almost Rikti-immune powers, it would mean we'd get asked to join the Omega Team.

We don't have much time, so I'm trying to write up our thoughts as quick as possible for the time capsule. It was Hero 1's idea, so that we would leave a little of ourselves behind. Philip is with me; he didn't want to write anything, because his ice powers have destroyed the nerves in his hands so he can't even hold things with fine motor control anymore, and he didn't want to ask someone to help write out his letter for him. He's so silly like that, but then, he's always been one to look after us and not himself.

As I'm writing this, I'm sure you're with the Alpha Team, fighting to ensure that the world survives. We'll do our bit too from the other side. I'll protect Philip and everyone from the Omega Team, and they'll look after me.

I'm sorry we won't make it back. By the time you read this, you'll already know of the outcome and purpose of the Omega Team. But that's okay, because we're doing our part too, for this Earth we love so much.

It's time, I have to go now. Sorry I can't write anymore.

    Love,
    Aria

To my students Icedrop and Antarctic Arrow (such names, I half-regret the day when I made you throw away your names and take up new ones),

I do not regret the day when I took two shivering, inexperienced, incompetent youths in from the cold. I do not regret the day when I offered to teach you both the rudimentaries of my skills in Ice magic. Do you regret the many months it took to find me, only to discover I was some 'evil villain', disgruntled with humanity? Still, I find it comforting to know in the years which followed, I regained some measure of liking for the human race again.

Enough to halt your studies and to join the world against the foul alien invaders.

When the British gentleman Hero 1 approached me with a request, I had thought to turn him down, and return to you. After all, my newfound liking for the human race was not that great, and in truth, I missed the company of my two foolish students.

But then, if the alien Rikti won, what world would there be left for you?

There was no choice really, it was something I had to do. For this blue Earth, for all of humanity, for you two, my finest, and only students.

I do not regret the path I take. There is no time for regrets, of things we could have done, of what may be and what will never happen.

    Lady Aufeis

P.S. I already knew you two would choose the path of heroism. Nevertheless, I bless you both in your chosen paths. Had I survived... well, who knows, perhaps I may have joined you both. I would have regretted it at first, but in the end, who knows?

And some letters from NPCs who might have joined (even if against their will)...

    Dear Paragon City,

Since the day I put on the wretched mask, I have been conflicted in thoughts, many of which is not my own. The mask possesses me from time to time, and with more frequency. Still, the power it, or rather, the entity inside holds is great, and increases my own, steadily improving potential.

I do not know if I want to live anymore. I don't know if it is even possible for me to live anymore, even if we win.

But I know now what I can do.

I will be joining Omega Team, to reinforce the whole team against the Rikti. With my magically enhanced psionic might, I can prevent the whole team from straying off-course and do what must be done.

I only hope I have enough strength to do it.

Oh snap, my allotted time for writing was used up eating KFC with Hero 1 and Ruin. Nice people. I would have enclosed photos, but Ruin accidently broke my camera when he said something about Hero 1 and used it to block a punch.
