There is a guy who frequents Freedom RV named Selkis (or Selkus cant remember) but he plays an AR/Dark/GW Corruptor.
Whenever he gets a kill I always smile on the inside.

Quote:I never said that droning isnt a valid tactic at the moment. I am just saying it would eliminate the current ongoing griefing. Just because I do it doesnt mean I am oblivious to the fact that I am doing it to make people mad...Kiri "Logic"
First kiri asks for this...
Then kiri says this...
Correct me if I'm wrong but are you saying that it's ok for you to wormhole drone and it's all hehe funny pew pew but you getting droned while you're camping the other base is griefing?
-hehe funny pew pew OPTI
I grief just as much as anyone else, if not more. I am just saying if you want to improve the quality of life in pvp make it so people dont have to drone...

Quote:lol ok kid. gtfo.Lulz at calling me oblivious and retarded when almost your entire post read like you are completely oblivious and retarded.
"Showing your true colors" was the nice way of say that you are a one of those QQ zone newb pvpers.
QQ TP foe griefing QQ
QQ zone critter griefing QQ
Aside from some spots in SC where people have complained about being TPed out of the hospital there are no other issues.
You are oblivious to the fact that the devs created it that way and retarded to think that droning is not a valid zone tactic.
Think before you post next time or don't and keep making yourself look bad mr/mrs "showing your true colors". I'm inclined to think the latter.
-OPTI
I play more team arena then zone and all of my observations are backed by actual logic.
If you are going to talk down at least provide some sort of actual logic.
I am always the first to admit if my idea is fail, but at least show that my idea is fail, or point out any false statements/assumptions I am making.

Lol! so true. No joke, the other day i got 4 people with 1 wormhole and it was funny cuz they were stunned and the drone just pew pew'd them as they tried to wobble away.
Quote:75% of total HP??? Are you smoking the same stuff as the devs???
Showing your true colors I see. There may be a couple of problematic spots in SC but that's about it.
It seems that shifting to a percentage based damage would benefite all parties. Then again IDK...
2) RE: this whole i see your true colors stuff.
Who the hell are you? You are either oblivious to reality or retarded. I am inclined to think the latter.

Quote:If you are truly only interested in zone pvp and do not mind being occasionally knocked down by a levitate/power thrust/etc.. You could probably get away with 25-30 points of KB Protection.I am going to say that on my corrupter at the moment I only have 27% resistance. I have not been knocked down once in the three weeks I have been playing it. The final build will have near 35% once I finish slotting. I dont know that you really need to be protected from 100% of the KB powers out there for zone play. In arena, yeah. 25% covers a lot of the powers used typically though.
So for a more casual player not looking for optimum, you can get away with less and still have a fun time in the zones and not get totally KB farmed. Those slots and sets you are using to get to 41% KB protection could also be used to give you more HP, recharge, recovery, etc... Those numbers are pretty darn important too. Take the 41% number with a grain of salt is all.
I really really reccomend slotting 35+ for occasional arena play, and 41+ minimum if you want to be competitive in the Arena.
You can do so pretty easily by combining steadfasts, karmas, blessings, glad armor (still relatively cheap), kinetic crash, slotted acrobatics (iirc 2 KB IO's in acro adds nearly 3 additional points of kb prot on top of the base kb protection from acro).

Wow this is pretty weak.. perhaps you should be working as hard on your D8 as you do making up retarded accusations. Maybe then your D8 wouldnt be 0-6, idk..
I mean seriously.. I really hope you dont speak for your team because this is just getting more and more pathetic as you continue to grasp at whatever petty straw you can grasp at.

In my opinion, Spirit Shark should have its damage reduced and put more inline with the other patron range attacks.
A buff to AS would be nice. I think that it should do a set percentage of HP in PvP. Perhaps 75% of total hp on successful tohit roll.
I think DR is necessary in the game as it stands now. However I think that Castle should be more transparent with the DR caps/formulas. As it stands right now I think maybe 2-5 players in all of COX understand how exactly DR works. At the very least correct the combat attributes to show accurate numbers.
I think things like stalagmites/TF/stuns in general needs to be looked at as it is an automatic 9-10 second stun that can not be avoided or broken out of. With the damage increase out of domination for Dominators 9-10 seconds is usually a guaranteed kill.
For god's sake add TP protection in the zones around the drones. This will eliminate griefing of people getting TP'd out of the base and people droning.
Also please add either more drones or better protection around both bases. The Mu at the villain base are much much more dangerous than the Wardens around the hero base. I think that in the immediate vicinity of the base there should be mobs that see through invis/hide. There is far too much griefing going on for both sides.
Just my 2 inf,

Quote:1) I agree with Silit here.. if he was in it for spite he could have drafted another unnamed person for ultimate spite.Out of spite? It had nothing to do with the fact that near everyone on my team has played with him before, or that he could help out our team... oh, wait.
You mention similar cases in the draft. If you're actually aware of who they are then you can certainly conclude that if spite was my goal I would have picked one of them instead.
2) If you guys didn't try so hard to be underhanded about this whole ordeal and actually went out and said "Hey, Fates reactivated his account and really wants to play with us. Please don't draft him." I can almost guarantee Silit and the rest of the captains would not have picked him. Instead, you guys were shady and tried to sneak him in.
3) The drama surrounding this is retarded. You knew it was a draft and so did Fates (assuming he read what he actually signed up for). You gambled and you lost.
4) I can vouch that Silit at the very least told our team that Fates was in the draft as I was on vent when he did.
5) Silit keeps saying he is willing to trade Fates if he truly doesnt want to play with U2BG. So why dont you just save the drama and figure out a trade?

Since when can you kick people from the league for not attending practice?
-Kiri -
Congratulations on your D6 win vs RA FTW in practice.
I know this must be a life changing event. This is a time when you look back on all that hardwork and say "YEA! We have accomplished something." Please don't let others belittle your win. Take it all in. Some of you may go on to become great players after this amazing win, others may continue their epic journey to obtain TRU WARRIR status. Nonetheless, congratulations in beating such a great team in practice.

Quote:Standard Ice/Cold arena build has the following pools:I've gotten a bit more PvP experience now (still w/out IO's though); so now I finally have some questions that are probably more answerable now....
I would like to be more of a damage controller, as an Ice/Cold I have the 2 single target attacks and the 2 important debuffs. Within the AT power sets, which powers would be most effective for the style I'm looking for?
As far as power pools go SS/SJ/Fitness seem to be the standard and most effective. I have heard that Fly is not too bad for a troller (would like some info as to why I should use or avoid it) and I have no idea what the Epic or 4th pool should be. As far as DMG goes it looks like /Earth is the best epic since it has 2 higher dmg powers, an armor power, and the +HP power, but... the /Ice has hibernate which appears to be a useful power. With the 4th power pool set I'm not sure if Stealth or Leadership would be the most effective. Stealth gets extra slotting for - KB, while Leadership gets the +perception.
So this is where I am stuck at, I would like to hear from more experienced players as to what I should really be looking for. If a damage controller build is really impossible for Ice/Cold I would not mind being a support character, I just don't want to be a pure base buffer, I would like to at least have some combat ability in zone or arena.
1) Speed
2) Leaping
3) Fitness
4) Leadership (Tactics for +tohit and +per, slot with additional +perception IO)
5) Ice Mastery
Pro's:
You have perception
You have +tohit for debuffs
Manuevers and Vengeance is slottable with KB resist and LOTG +rech
Con's
Lack of Damage
Depending on quality of build Leadership toggles are hard on end
For duels/zones you could get away with:
1) Speed
2) Leaping
3) Fitness
4) Concealment (Phase)
5) Earth
Pro's
Earth Mastery has 2 great damaging powers
+hp in earth's embrace can cover holes in low hp builds
Availability of Phase Power before 41+
Concealment has a lot of potential for KB resist and +rech slotting
Con's
No Perception (Can't hit what you cant see)
No +tohit (Can't hit what you can eventually see)
EDIT: You could potentially put a Kismet +6% ToHit in a defensive toggle.
Depending on quality of build Earth Mastery attacks are hard on end
As far as fly goes...
IMO it can save you in zones when there is no -fly around. Unfortunately, it seems like everyone, including zone mobs, has some sort of -fly. I would not consider it a viable travel power for anyone wanting to be serious about PvP.

First, great topic. I read the topic this morning and been thinking about it a bit.
It's definitely hard to gage "PvP Success".
A Trick Arrow can completely ruin the opposing sides chance to succeed. They probably wont get many kills and they will most likely be the #1 target of the opposing side. Is this a success or a failure?
A bad blaster can mow down enemies if they have a good emp. Is this a success?
An emp can throw out occasional heals rarely buff, and still help their side out. Is this a failure?
I am sure you can see where I am going...
So anyways, I guess my opinion is that success is purely based on how much fun you have playing. I am the first to admit I'm a bad blaster, but I love playing him and I am getting much better everytime I play. So in my mind that is a successful character.
On the other hand I have a Necro/Poison MM that destroys people in arena and zones. I hate playing him, I hate the MM playstyle. Its the most frustrating toon I have ever played, but its a beast in PvP. This to me is a failure.
Anyways, good topic, always fun to think...

Quote:Hard to say "long term" as that means 12+ months to me.Basically what the title said, what toon.. Red or Blue would benefit the most from being IO'd with PVP and Purple IO's.
I'm almost finished my MA/Regen and I would like a long term project...
Whats good today is often nerfed tomorrow.
IMO in the next 3-6 months a solid toon to IO out is either an Emp controller (Ill/Emp, Grav/Emp, etc..) or a Psy/EM blaster. Both are much harder to survive on then a regen scrapper. However, both archetypes will always have a home in a team.

Quote:Have a friend, say a fleet admiral in the virtuous vanguard, log on the opposing team's side and team recall the opposing players into the drones.I'd be willing to hear you how when you explain how you can tactically get away from anything in a zone after being webbed and 2+ people are attacking you aside of making it back to the base after you run out of HP.
Bonus points if you come up with a way to do it while toggle debuffed.
-points if you say "Phase/wait for phase to come up before you go out"
-points if you explain how to do it on a stalker, Scrapper or Tank.
BOOM WHERE IS MY POINTS?!?

PVPIO farms yield between 1 and 20 recipes per 24 hours farmed.
Thats with 1 offensive AE character and 5 alts with self rez on auto getting killed over and over.
Drop rate seems pretty low to me considering thats like 500 kills a night.
That said.. people who farm PvPIOs can theoretically get between 25-100 recipes a week.
Also before people balk..
The people who can do this (not me, my wife would kill me) spend $15 x 5 ($75) a month. Its not exactly cheap.
-Kiri -
Quote:Just one example and probably the most viable is compairing a Purpled Psy/EM blaster to a Puple/PvPIO Psy/EM blaster.Has anyone stopped to do a comparrison of a Max'd Purple+PvP IO build vs a 250mill budget build?
Are we talking like 200 extra HP, 70% extra recharge and 100 extra damage points per attack? or are we talking about same level of HP, 30% extra recharge and 10 points of extra damage?
In a PvP system that doesn't reward speed or skill, is there really even a reason care about what build you PvP with? The only IOs that I think are necessary are the ones that cap HP for the AT and KB procs. All else doesn't really matter.
But then again, I'm bad.
The apoc proc gives +107 damage and the explosive strike gives +71 damage for a total
I believe these are the only two +damage procs you can slot in their range attacks.
So with just Purples and a generic proc you are taking.
X + 178 damage in one normal attack chain (Will Dom, TK Blast, Psi Dart, Mental Blast) (X being damage if all things are equal)
Now if you compare this to a blaster with all the PvPIO Procs:
+107 from apoc
+71 from explosive
+71 x 4 = +284 from glad javs
so you are taking potentially an additional 284 damage from PvPIO procs. Doesnt sound like a lot but...
107+71+284 = 462
Thats a lot of extra damage. Especially given that the PvPIO procs have increased chance of going off in PvP (33% same as purples).

Quote:It would have been Chris that I was perma taunting. DFA is an emp and on a different team than what we were playing that night.WAIT I CAN BE YOU TOO!
"DONT ******* CALL DFA, HES MY ******* PERMA TAUNT TARGET YOU IDIOTS!"
I was baked like that entire time, I was prolly an idiot <3
The reason I raged was because Chris had basically given up. He was afk in a corner of the map, and Divine started calling him every other target.
First time i was like "Hey man, remember he is taunt target?". Second, I was like, "dude, stop calling the taunt target". Third I was like, "MOTHER ******* STOP CALLING THE ******* TAUNT TARGET JESUS CHRIST YOU RETARD." So yea I guess I raged.
I wont lie. That was the night that made me realize that the team was going no where. Anyways, you guys will experience your own moment of Zen where you realize that letting Divine lead is a bad idea.
