Stygian Return is like Soul Transfer only worse as it doesn't disorient mobs - so unless you're on a good team it's basically suicide to use it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry you'll have to elaborate a mo there, so long as I use it in a mob and am on a team that doesn't suck, what's the problem? Shouldn't the enemies around me get me back up enough to live?
[/ QUOTE ]
What Spad means is that since Stygian Return has no secondary effect, you're basically a free target once you revive yourself (although there is a 5 second invulnerability). But I've found that if I can get at least two targets I have enough hp to at least stand a fighting chance. I wouldn't bother giving it extra slots though, I rarely die again before it's recharged unless I'm on the Rikti Ship Raid

Nebulous Form hasn't been much cop since they stuck a timer on it (No use as a travel power any more) and made it so that you can't interact with glowies while phased (No use for ghosting).
[/ QUOTE ]
Really took this power since I was starting to run out of options, plus it makes a fair panic button.
[ QUOTE ]
Also, there's little point in take your other two shields that late, especially if you're only 1-slotting them. By that point you've got Eclipse as well as Dwarf Form and the shields don't get a great deal of use anyway unless you're a mostly human-form Warshade.
[/ QUOTE ]
Simular to above, running out of options there, so if you can recommend any better powers here then please, go ahead.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like you, I had no idea what to pick at the end. I opted for medicine pool myself, I've found Stimulant to be of occasional use on teams. And Resuscitate for healing badges

A lot depends on what you're planning form-wise. Tri-Form Warshades are a real ******* to slot, so you're best with going Dual-Form generally speaking. If you're going Dwarf-Nova, then you really need to fully slot the form powers to make the most of them, if you try and split between form and human powers you'll likely end up crippling yourself rather badly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Though challenging, I plan on experiencing everything about being a warshade and so intend to go tri-form.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was tri-form up until 45-ish, but I found my Dwarf form sorely underslotted. The damage I dealt was almost negligible, even if my defenses were solid in Dwarf form, so I opted to go for a Nova/Dwarf build for the later levels. Still takes a while to kill stuff, but at least I feel like I'm contributing to kills and not just tauntbotting.
A little trick (unless they've fixed it recently) when respeccing is that you can assign the lvl 3 and 5 slots to Nova form (perhaps even Dwarf form), so you don't have to slot up the lower powers unless you want to, essentially giving you four extra slots for later powers. -

Rad is a more 'middle of the team' power - you have an AoE heal and AM - very useful bother pre- and mid-battle. You also have further holds (Linger, Choke, EMP) which (for the most part) require you to be somewhere near the badguys.
On top of it, you also have a rez power (which is allways admired) AND Fallout - a brilliant attack power which can be used in synergy with Mutate. The best way to use them would probably be to watch the tank's health slowly turn red, and tell everyone to stop healing them for a few seconds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Er, no. Never let your tank die on purpose (or anyone else on your team) unless everyone agrees on it beforehand. Better to use Fallout/mutate combo on a blapper or perhaps a scrapper. But teammates should rarely die with a mind/rad on the team.
[ QUOTE ]
With Kin, you have (IIRC) the only ranged heal in the game (ignoring, for a moment, the pool powers)
[/ QUOTE ]
Play with an empath lately? They have two ranged heals, Storm has a ranged heal, PBs have a ranged heal etc. Then there's the villain side ranged heals. Ranged AoE heal, otoh, cant think of another powerset with it.
[ QUOTE ]
What this means is you can be almost completly removed from the battle. I've found the best thing to do is get Hover early on, then float at about the center-point of your team and select un-healthy teammates - check they're near their target - then blast a bolt of Transfusion down to them.
This means that you can be a verrry effective healer without having to run around in the heat of the action. (it also means that you can float above a ritki attack, target your team's tanker, hit auto heal and then look directly upwards. This means you get NO lag, and can do your own thing until you've been hit with some sort of mez, and have to fly back up there)
[/ QUOTE ]
Do your own thing? If you're not looking at the battle, then how can you be doing anything other than afk-healing?
I suppose I don't really see these powersets as you do. I'd say Kin is the "center of the battle" secondary for controllers, you want to be in there to spread the buffs to as many of your teammates as possible, as well as getting the all-important Transference and Fulcrum Shift yourself.
Rad can easily be played from a distance, popping in for a quick heal and LR debuff occasionally, although that of course changes if you make good use of Choking Cloud. -
I should have been more clear in my first post
What I would've expected by now is that when people saw that magic salvage was(is) more sought after they farm for it, thus increasing supply while demand stay roughly the same, leading to lower prices. Perhaps we're just not there yet? -
I more or less agree with you, but I'm unsure that the devs changing things around a living economy is a good idea, it usually doesn't end well from what I've heard. And after all, it is a player market, we set the prices and pay the prices. Sure, the devs could probably have set better salvage ingredients so as to make things equally attractive, but that's easy to say with several months and millions of transactions as a basis.
And for myself, I don't really see why rare magic salvage should be worth more than rare tech. Can't say that I've had to use more of either type making my sets. And the supply of tech salvage certainly isn't hundreds/thousands of times higher than magic -
Icelock, Ice/Storm Controller
Blue or Green team -
But Stone tanks may be preferrable, since they have better regeneration
Then again, I have no idea how much regeneration will help against Hami, even with EoEs -
Time is not the best, but I can probably be there
-
Just out of curiosity, why? All salvage is easily available on the Consignment House, and afaik no salvage used for wings/boots is epsecially expensive

I'm fairly active right now, so don't exactly need anything to keep playing. But I'm very much looking forward to Issue 11 -
Quick and fun, even with the slight chaos at first
-
I'm up for this with my troller, I'll be lounging near the contact
-
Team squishie pulls through! Who needs tanks when the AV dies in ten seconds eh?
-
Nice, so do we meet at Faathim or someplace else? Haven't been out there in a year or so, so might need some help getting there (Cringes at the thought of hovering throughout Shadow Shards)
-
I'm up for it with my controller

Great fun as usual, thanks spider!
Mini-rant: I don't get why people feel the need to complain about how the raids are being led in /b, especially when all they say is "This raid was crappy, I'm out!" instead of actually making an effort to have it better the next time? It's not like it's easy to get 40-50 people all running in the same direction, especially since there's no way to enforce a certain behaviour on the raids and they consist (partly) of total strangers to the raid leader(s). End rant.
Keep up the good work Spider, we really appreciate that you do this -
I'll be there, these raids have been lots of fun
And everyone, remember to listen to Request channel once you're in RWZ, all raid info will be on there -
I'll probably be there both today and on Sunday

Lightning Reflexes works like Quickness from /SR. It's a 20% recharge boost, which cannot be enhanced.
