There are still a couple TFs I have not done, but luckily when I do my Extra Life campaign on 10/20/2012 we will be running every single hero side TF
Here are the ones I have not done:
Moonfire TF
Ernesto Hess TF
Dr. Quaterfield TF
Sara Moore TF
Justin Augustine TF
Faathim the Kind TF

Does not surprise me that Power likes CO.
Quote:CO isn't jerky in any way and if it is the CoH is too, I run the same in both games. Also it only clumsy if you run into every building so try not doing that, because CO is not clumsy at all.
It plays freaking AWESOME! You don't never stop attacking for one second, beside when you blocking anyways, unlike CoH. Until around level 30, I have to wait for my powers to recharge for about 5 seconds depending on my power. -
I don't care if you care...just wanted to point out how stupid your post comes across. I mean seriously...like you wouldn't shred someone who said something similar "I has infos from a source that I can't reveal..because it's a PM and uhmm yeah it's reliable..trust me..cuz I has info!" LOL!
I just call BS when I see it
And you showed some remarkable BS in your post
-
I got a PM saying that you are lying about your PM...of course I won't post it out of courtesy...
See how that works...ANYONE can say they got a PM! WOOHOO!
Quote:I won't give details because the information was sent to me under PM, but the 'small studio' that was talking to NCSoft - well, while their offer to talk may have been made in good faith, I found a number of red flags that would likely have turned NCSoft off considering it a serious offer.
But you're right also in the costs involved. Just transfering the property over to a new owner is likely a seven-figure process, and then the new owner has to get everything set up and running? This is why the Paragon Studios folks had the best shot, as they had the inside knowledge to run the process smoothly. -
A friend and I are both participants in this and have both raised $63. My goal is $200....sloooowly getting there. Extra Life is an excellent organization as is the Children's Miracle Network.
Team CoH is currently at $3,165.00!!!
I would love to see just 1/4 of the players who were VIP donate their monthly sub to this cause... that would be an AMAZING amount and truly show how this community is truly Heroic. So that is my challenge for the community. It's easy to say you are a hero...but it's another thing to actually play the role in real life. There are thousands of children and families who are assisted daily by CMN...and this is your chance to be a hero to those families and children.
I want team CoH to be in the top 10; preferably the top 5 of this campaign, but to do that we need your help. I'm not saying you have to donate $15...heck even $5 from the thousands of players of this game would make a world of difference.
The top team in this campaign is sitting at $25,304.98. So in order to overtake them and show what an awesome community this game has...that it is full of heroes (and villains with ulterior motives) all we would need is for everyone to donate $5 to easily overtake the top spot...and then some
So please... take the 5 minutes and few dollars it would take and donate to the Extra Life campaign. If we MUST go out... I want our impact to be felt throughout the world...in a positive way...being heroes and helping families in need.
We are heroes...this is what we do!
Team CoH Main Webpage: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?...am&teamID=9445
I'm not going to "advertise" my own personal link...I would rather people just pick a random person and donate. It doesn't matter if I reach my goal or not...what truly matters is that we raise the funds to be true heroes.
Thanks -
Great video and yes it made me smile

CoH was my first MMO...and my last. I have tried CO, DCUO, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, WOW, GW, and GW2...none of them were fun to me which is why I play CoH...it's fun!
I uninstalled GW2 yesterday and the only other MMO on my computer anymore is CoH. I will play my 24 hour pledge on 10/20 for Extra Life...then after that log in and chat with friends...and then on 11/30 say goodbye to the game that introduced me to MMOs. CoH created a very high bar for what I expect in a game and a community...one I doubt any game will ever fulfill again. -
There is no sub for GW2 just buy the game and play.
Quote:Has NcSoft even sent out any invites to their other games to VIPs? No "Hey. We know you really like that game that we killed, but here's a shiney to make it all better." mentality? I'd think that some sort of sub package for GW2 at least to make the hurt better (for them) would be in order. -
Extra Life is an organization that has gamers pledge to play video games for 24 hours straight. In doing so each gamer gets supporters to pledge money to them. All the proceeds benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
Currently there is a City of Heroes team of 27 players. We started our team a week ago and have raised $1,131,98 so far. I would love to see us raise $5000 by the date of the campaign (10/20/2012).
I have signed up with a global friend of mine and we plan on doing every single Hero TF in that 24 hour period (8am on 10/20 to 8am on 10/21).
Here is a link to the City Of Heroes team page:
http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?...am&teamID=9445
There you can see all the participants who have signed up so far and how much they have in sponsorship.
We are always looking for more participants as well as more sponsors. It's a great cause; one that I give to every year. I am hoping that people will use the money they would have spent on their monthly subs to support 1 or 2 players.
-
This would have had way more impact had you actually made sense in your last sentence.
-
And if you do not wish to participate you could sponsor people who are playing. We JUST broke the $1000 mark in pledges, but would love to see that number reach $5000 or more by October 20th.
Quote:Coincidentally, SaveCoH has a team on the Extra Life Charity Drive and Gameathon (http://www.extra-life.org/team/CoH).
If you'd like to play CoH in a marathon 24-hour session and feel heroic by raising money for the Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals, this event takes place from 8 AM in your local timezone on Saturday, October 20th to 8 AM on Sunday, October 21st. -
I have absolutely no desire to play any of their games again.
It's not about "hurting" NCSoft...I just refuse to help them.

My response to NCSoft - They will never see one more penny from me!
-
They are an MMO company - they know from past closures (Which NCSoft has done quite a few of) that emulators always pop up... so no I am very certain that has absolutely NOTHING to do with it.
You wanna know why they failed: NCSoft asked an outrageous amount of money that no company would be willing to spend on an MMO. Instead of negotiating a REASONABLE price I can guarantee you they simply asked for something 4-5 times more than any company would pay for the IP etc. Then when the negotiators wouldn't meet their ludicrous prices - they ceased negotiations.
-
Yeah definitely not the response I was hoping for
So it looks like Plan A is down the tubes officially now.
So basically this means the game is dead.
Looks like my last hoorah will be on 10/20/2012 then when I do the Extra Life campaign. I will continue to try to get sponsors because Children's Miracle Network is an awesome cause...and it looks like 10/20 will be the last time my in game friends and I will get together.
I have no desire to be a part of plan Z or anything like that. I wanted the game to continue; even if it was on a skeleton crew of designers etc...damn it I wanted Issue 24. -
This is just a maintenance period - nothing will be published. (I asked this on twitter and that was the reply I got)
-
Just read that thread
Hope you are all doing well

Hey all.. I totally forgot about this thread, and that it was still around... my husband pulled it up for me today (I am not used to these forums and how to work them lol).....
anyways, for anyone that may be interested, (probably not, but just in case:-) here is the thread that went on after my daughters birth. Just an example of how wonderful this community is (Except for a few morons) But yeah, it is pretty amazing even to read over it again 3 years later. Also, I believe there is a picture of her on the 2nd or 3rd page or something. So once again, if any of you who posted kind comments on that thread read this, I thank you all for your kind words!! -
Actually one of my favorite songs.

If one assumes they (NCSoft) are even bothering to read stuff that pops up online regarding CoH...then you also have to assume they read his article about the comic and not just the comic itself.
Quote:I met Scott Kurtz once. He really didn't strike me as the sort of person to go out of their way to do anything if it didn't directly benefit him. I was unsurprised to find his motivation for that post was because City of Heroes had directed traffic his way in the past.

As far as today's Penny Arcade strip goes, I'm pretty sure it was written as satire... though unfortunately the mark of good satire is that it is indistinguishable from seriousness by its target audience. The people who have no connection to City of Heroes will see it and say to themselves, "Yeah, what IS the big deal anyway? It doesn't affect me."
Worse, it could potentially be viewed by NCSoft as being serious--famous internet personalities actively do not care about City of Heroes. -
Maelstrom
What? He's the cutest male NPC. I think also Emperor Cole, but he looks like the kinda guy who is kinda boring in the bedroom.

Keekat just to warn you...the immature element that has always been stopped by forum moderation is out in full force...pay them no attention.
I enjoyed reading your experience with CoHIf you haven't already you can still get involved in the Save CoH activities - most of which are listed on the Titan forums:
http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/
You can also sign the petition at:
http://tinyurl.com/savecoh
Not sure if you use twitter or not but there are a lot of CoHers who do and constantly use #savecoh to bring awareness to the cause.
Just know right now that negotiations are on going for CoH to be purchased...and while that is all we know...I tend to take the "no news is good news" approach to things.
