  1. So I purchased some Paragon Points and got some free tokens. I used those free tokens to aquire more Paragon Rewards. One of those rewards being the 10% Prestige Bonus for enemy defeats. I have not received the +10% Prestige bonus for any enemy defeats. It's a new month and I got another token. I took another reward and still have not been getting the +10% Prestige bonus.

    Now, I have 3 accounts for CoH. Two of those accounts are past the tier 7 Rewards, which is where the +10% Prestige Bonus reward is located. The account that is not receiving the bonus is still in the tier 7 rewards. I know that account is not receiving the bonus because I can see the bonuses with my other accounts.

    For instance; On my two accounts with all the teir 7 rewards, I would receive 11 prestige for defeating a LT. On my account that has only 4 or 5 rewards in the tier 7 rewards.. only receives 10 prestige. It adds up pretty fast. All my toons on that account are at least 200k prestige below my tier 8+ Paragon Rewards accounts.

    I've sent in a bug report and got the standard reply message. Are there more people out there not getting their bonus prestige? Is there anyone from Paragon Studios who knows what is going on with this?

    Thanks,
    Hypricon

    Thnx Snow Globe for the confirmation. Any word on if the DEVs know of the issue? I haven't seen it in the known issue post.

    No 5 year badge?

    Not sure if this has happened to anyone else. I started the game October 20, 2006 and have been paying for it non stop. When Freedom went live, I like many others, bought extra Paragon Points so I could get the tier 9 VIP costume pieces. October 20011 has come and gone and I still have not recieved my 5 year badge (or the free token for a year badge). Anyone else have the same issue?

    Not sure if buying the PP bugged my yearly badge or if it has something to do with having used time cards for some of the months I've been playing. But I certainly do not have the 5 year badge.

    ^This absolutely! It is most annoying for everyone playing a support toon, and for those tanking who watch for the team members health dropping to focus on taunting other NPC's. It's close to game breaking IMO...

    I see what you are saying here. That while being a VIP member, you are still going to have to 'purchase' new powersets. As Acranaville and others have stated, we have done that already with CoV and GR. Think about it this way. If you don't pay with freedom, you can still play. If you pay with freedom, you get 400 points a month... every month you are a VIP. You can still purchase them like many of us did with the preorder of GR and then the in game pak thru the store.

    Think about this.. many of us paid RL cash for the booster paks, which anyone playing (and thus paying ) that did not buy them had no access to. So yes, it is fair. If Jo Blo has the money to get new fluff, then Jo Blo can purchase them. If Sam I Am does not have the extra cash for the fluff, then Sam I Am doesn't buy them and thus... no new fluff.

    OR... you can save your month fee for a month and go premium.. use that sub fee to buy the new fluff and then resubscribe. Simple solution giving you the Freedom to choose. Hence City of Heroes FREEDOM! Seems equitable to me... but then again, I don't think the self entitlement issues of today hold any merit.

    Just my 2 cents

    Hamidon Raids

    Hello Triumph heroes! I've moved to this server about a year ago and really like the players here. I came over from Virtue where we would fight Hamidon every Wednesday and Saturday nights. I would love to be able to get a Hami raid setup for every Satruday night around 8PM EST. I've run some raids over on Virtue and have been in at least 150 Hami raids. I'm well versed in defeating Hamidon with your help.

    Some simple tips about a Hami raid;

    1) We need at least 12 Melee DMG toons to fight the Yellow Mito's.
    2) We need at least 12 Ranged DMG toons for the Blue Mito's.
    3) We need Empaths or Pain Dominators and Kins for the Melee teams. At least 1 kin on each Yellow Mito team and 1 Emp/Pain on the Tanks team
    4) We need at least 3 Tanks with Taunt. (Yes I know I said a Tank with taunt.. some actually don't get taunt)
    5) Hold Holds Holds... we need several controllers with holds! The Green Mito's can only be hurt when held.
    6) Come to the Hive with an empty Insp tray. This will facilitate in more Essence of the Earth to spread around to the tanks and scrappers as well as laeve some for the squishies.

    A Hami raid in a nut shell;

    Hero's should meet at the 'safe rock' when they enter the Hive. This is located south of the #2 badge at Hamidons spawn point. When there are enough people in the Hive (best to have 35-50 players), the Raiders can begin to spawn Hamidon. To do this the group needs to take out the Gian Monsters in the Hive zone. This is where one gets Essence of the Earths (EoE's for short). Once enough GM's have been defeated, Hamidon will spawn. At this point, all heroes should head back to safe rock for reconsolidation and reorganization... ie hand out EoE's to those who have only a few. Tanks and Scrappers/Brutes will need the most EoE's as they will be gaining the most agro. Ranged Dmg dealers don't really need them except for the Mito spawns.

    The setup for teams against Hamidon should be something like this;

    2 Assault teams (each with 6 Ranged Dmg dealers and two controllers)
    2 Yellow Mito teams (each with at least 6 melee dmg dealer Scrapper/brute/stalker and 1 Kinetic Controller/Corruptor)
    1 Tank team (with at least 3 tanks and 1 Emp/Pain for heals. Best with 5 Tanks and 3 healers)
    1 Support Team (with defenders and controllers who can buff teams)

    This is the basic makeup of a Hami raid to be done succesfully and smoothly. It can be done with less, tho not recommended.

    Once we hav eenough EoE's and have consolidated them throught the teams, we are ready to buff and attack Hamidon. I do this in a 5 stage countdown. Each phase having a 10 second delay except for the first one which is about 20-30 seconds;
    5) Cast long term buffs like Deflection Shields and such. In this Clear mind should be given out as well so people don't get mezzed by Blue Mitos on the initial assault. Speed Boosts should be given out as well to speed up the initial surge attack.
    4) Cast short term buffs like AM, Recovery Aura, Regeneration Aura and Incarnate buffs.
    3) Tanks are told to launch their assault. One taunts Hamidon and the others taunt Yellow Mitos.
    2) Melee Dmg teams are told to attack. Their job is to attack the taunted yellows and remove them from existance.
    1) Ranged Dmg teams are told to attack. They attack the Blue Mito's near the Yellow Mito teams so they are not Mezz'd by the Blues.

    Once all the yellow Mito's are gone, we attack the Green Mito's. The Green Mito's must be held continuosly before they can be damaged. Once all the Green Mito's are gone we all attack the Blue Mito's. Once all Mito's are gone it's Hami time!

    Hami will respawn new Mito's at 75% health, 50% health and 25% health. So once the Mito's respawn it's rinse repeat until all spawns are dead and Hami finally goes down.

    The player gets to choose from one of these rewards for defeating Hamidon; 52 Reward Merits, 4 Incarnate Shards, Hamidon Origin Enhancement.

    My global handle is @Hypricon if you have any questions. Please come out and join me for Saturday Hamidon Raids!!
  11. This bug has been reported by others. Many of my friends have had the exact same issue you are describing as well as myself on my stalker. I refuse to play my stalker anymore until they fix this issue. That is a stalkers main attack and without it, takes away the whole reason for being a stalker.

    If you haven;t already, bug it in game and join the community.

    Does AE need XP?

    Here is a thought... am I as a paying subscriber of my favorite game CoX, get to enjoy the game how I see fit?

    I have been playing CoX since issue 8 came out and have seen the game progress greatly in my 3 years of game-play. I've seen Regen get nerfed at least 6 times.. but I don't play regens so it doesn't bother me. Many friends of mine DID until they nerfed it time and again. I've even seen some of those friends rage quit. They have nerf'd certain farming missions used to PL others such as the family mish with Unia K in PI. It now has minimal XP and rewards. The DEVs do their best to limit/dissuage PL farming. 'Farming' is anything someone does to obtain a certain goal.. like getting the illusionist badge which would take like forever otherwise! Farming for rewards such as recipies so you don't have to fight the exuberant market prices for such as LoTG or Posi Blast and such. Farming for Inf so you can get enough inf to buy purples. Regular farming will always be in any MMO. Even without XP in AE missions, some people will still farm. Unless you remove ALL rewards in MA and thus make it completely useless to all but a few.

    I play CoX regularly and find it to be a great passtime for me. I have tried many aspects of CoX. I have played the game thru from lvl 2-50 (Outbreak to actually have all contacts done) and even turned of XP gain to actually enjoy ALL the story arcs blue side that I could. ( I think I missed only 2% of the contacts ) While I found that extremely enjoyable story wise, turning off the XP gain made for a very... very long jaunt to 50. I will admit, I like the flashy 'ding' with gaining lvls. I enjoy the end content with my lvl 50's. Even if there is not much of it compared to games such as WoW and whatnot. I have PL'd one of my toons from 14-46 before using standard PI PL farming teams. I have helped members of my SG gain faster lvls with some of thier toons so they could enjoy doing an ITF or LGTF with that toon. I like to play all aspects of the game. Whether it is the awesome and fun grind. The slow and arduous journey of completing all the story arcs I can. Completing every TF I can stand. Farming for recipies/tickets/badges/influence.

    While I do not consider myself a PL'er, I have helped out a few friends and SG mates. While I do not consider myself a Farmer, I farm on occasion. While I do not consider myself a writer, I have made some story arcs. I do consider myself an avid CoX fan and gamer. I grind and play my main more than I do anything else in game. When I have earned a considerable gain of Influence, I hold Costume Contests in Atlas. I hang out with known friends and chat in Atlas.

    I have read the forums and posted very little. It seems to me that there are a good portion of players who absolutely loathe any kind of farming whatsoever. I am sure that I will be labled as one of the 'bad guys' by these people as I admited to farming and even PLing friends. I honestly think that many people who do PL and farm all the time don't read the forums or just don't want to post anything and get labled or have the DEVs crack down on them. I say this... we are in an imperfect world with imperfect people. You can please some of the people all the time but not all the people all the time.

    If you have not been able to find good PUGs since the 'innovation' of MA, join the club. I have not been able to find good players to team with since it's induction of MA myself. I do, however; have a great many friends on my global who play just as much, if not more, than I do. I can always find a team.

    If they removed MA from the game, I would not be offended or upset in any way. There are others who would. If they removed rewards in MA such as XP, I would simply not use that aspect of the game. Others would stop playing all together.

    In the end, I find that tolerance of others behavior helps me deal with the annoying aspects of some players. While I do not agree with the whole PL process, it happens. Heck, I have done it! Never have I PL'd anyone who I haven't gone thru the grind with and who didn't already have at least 2 lvl 50's already. I guess that is my situational ethics comming into play.
