It's not the time, it's what you're doing.
[/ QUOTE ]
No. It is NOT. You're NOT getting paid to sit there and twiddle your thumbs. You're being paid for the time that's being wasted by others.
If you were being paid for what you were doing, or being paid for what you WERE going to do, you'd be paid a FLAT FEE.
But for waiting (not shutting down), you're paid on an hourly scale.
You're wrong. Please just man up and admit it.

If I'm sitting waiting on the load, I'm not getting paid.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then you're either not working for the right company or not taking the kinds of loads I'm familiar with. -
Tell me that when I get contracted out to some of our customers to essentially get paid to sit in a meeting while they come up with everything themselves.
Yet, the entire time I've been paid.
If you're a trucker, and are not getting paid hourly, but by mileage, you'd understand all about getting paid for your time. Like heading out to pick up a load, it's not ready yet, and you're getting paid to sit (not shut down) in the truck.
The law still states you have to shut down after X hours (IIRC it's 14), regardless. -
As has been pointed out. It hasn't worked for other games. Why would it necessarily work here?
Also, at that point, where you put a dollar equivallent on it, Uncle Sam (and all his greedy constituent parts) become very interested in you (well, in TAXING you). -
Okay. My job as a network architect and chief network admin is to sit around and manage my network.
I spend a few minutes a day delegating.
I spend maybe an hour answering questions.
I spend a little time in meetings and double-checking logs, function, etc.
The rest of the time I sit back and twiddle my thumbs and just exude the fact that I'm available should someone need me.
Am I being paid to twiddle my thumbs?
No. I'm being paid for my time. -
At least when I'm STF'ing, we try to have one tank (who we buff to high heaven), engage her. Then everyone else sits back at range and attacks.
-
Okay, Stone is all about just sheer unkillability.
Invulnerability can push these levels too. However, you need careful slotting of sets to achieve this. Stone can do this with just SOs and common IOs.
Now Stone DOES pay a price for this.
Speed. Teleport is almost REQUIRED for movement if you don't want to have to drop your armors before movement. This also makes opponents that like to run away an absolute female dog to fight.
It's toggle-heavy. The set is mainly defense-based and all the armors are toggles. This means that sappers (end-drainers) can *BLEEP!* your day up if they're ever able to actually hit you.
Now if you're on a team and performing the traditional tank role (standing in the center of a huge mob controlling aggro), this isn't a huge deal.
If you're trying to solo and achieve significant damage output as well, you can run your end bar down really quick. Even with Stamina. -
I currently have a DB/WP Stalker at 50. VERY scrapper-ish.
BU+Empower+1KCuts = AoE Death On A Stick
Leveling was relatively easy and I'm able to attack like a madman. Teaming, with buffs, just makes it ridiculous. -
Okay, working on my SS/Invuln +Def build.
I somehow happen to have come across *COUGH*meritsandabuttloadofinf*COUGH* the big three for the healing IOs.
Numina: +Regen/Recovery
Miracle: + Recovery
Regenerative Tissue: +Regen
Trying to figure out the best slotting for these between Dull Pain and Health.
Health currently looks like the winner with it being an Auto, though I've been mistaken before.
However, in addition to these IOs, should I slot some regular (or set) IOs for Heal as well?
And what would you consider excessive overslotting between the two. -
900 month? Exactly how many 80+ year olds do you think are going to be playing?
I can see the BRB messages right now.
*BRB! Teeth popped out!*
*BRB! Just filled my Depends!*
*BRB! Stroke!*
*BRB! A skeleton with a scythe just showed up on my doorstep!*
"Guys! I vote we just go on without him!"
"You were away for three hours!"
"I hadda go to the bathroom!"
"How far away is your bathroom?"
"About 10 feet."
"And it took you three hours?"
"I'm 85!" -

So you're telling me, that for my controller, I have to get superior invisibility, group invisibility, hover, combat jumping, AND some other defensive power... I don't know what... If I want to max out the recharge bonus?
[/ QUOTE ]
No. YOU are telling you that. We're merely telling you that you can't mule more than one of any specific IO in a power.
As to perma-ing PA. Haven't played anything based on Illusions yet. So couldn't honestly tell you.
You might want to look at Hasten and some purple sets slotted into your powers. That should push your recharge quite high. -
No, you can't mule IOs this way.
Only can only put one of each specific type of IO in a power.
So no LOTG 7.5% Recharge x 5.
As for level. You're right. Higher levels on fixed values and procs make no difference. Therefore, lower-level ones, that retain their functionality when exemped (so long as you still have access to the power) are actually worth more. -
Currently I'm playing at your resolution on a GTX260 with most of the settings maxed. I have very VERY few problems with lag due to video card overwork.
Get what you want and crank ALL your settings up. -
GAH! I'll be working the Origins game fair that weekend.

Let's see. Currently default End is 100.
With all end-boosting accolades it's 110.
With 600-odd badges in the game, you're talking about giving some people a 50+% boost.
Who needs end management? Just get all the badges you can and essentially never run out of end unless you're fighting a sapper.
Never mind that this destroys the incentive to team with buffers. Who needs 'em!
No. Sorry. /Unsigned -

Hey, back when I started playing, we didn't even have hitpoints. We just logged into the game dead.
I was forced to adapt, and while the game lost a bit of glamor in the process, I found that hitpoints did allow me to fully experience my character.
Just give it a try! I'm sure in three months you'll not even notice the problem.

It's called "learn how to play".
But you're rather just come into a forum and MPH (My Kitty Hurts).
Pathetic with a capital P. -
Okay, what can I say that hasn't already been said.
Red-side has much less of the "Run all the way to China...then come back" style of mission arc. While there IS still some of that, it's not too bad. Granted, some people don't LIKE being zone-locked for the duration of an arc. But, personally, I feel there's enough variety within the various arcs that it never gets that claustrophobic.
I didn't really notice it at first. Mainly because my first toon got ground to 50 mostly by streetsweeping with a bit of teaming here and there (NOT a recommended playstyle if you like moderate levels of advancement). However, I took my stalker from 1-50 mainly by soloing missions. Then, wen I came back blue-side to do the same thing with a blue-toon, I started REALLY noticing the sprawl of the missions.
Suffice it to say that it could use at least a LITTLE looking into.
On the flip side, red-side IS unrelentingly dingy. I know it's supposed to be darker and edgier. It still doesn't help that spending too much time over there triggers S.A.D.. I built my first villain days after my first toon. It went unplayed for nearly 6 MONTHS. And it was the only other toon I had for a while!
As to the red-side "Oh look! MORE LONGBOW!" issue. PLEASE don't get me started on that. I'd just overload the language filter.
-
I tried explaining this to them already.
All I got was a bunch of frothing and fanboistic twisting of words.
It's too late for me! But you can still save yourself!

As I've said before. There's no such thing as "idiot proof". Idiots are too darn numerous and prone to fits of fiendish creativity.

Your virus that affects Mac only affects the newer "more compatible with Windows" versions of the Mac OS
[/ QUOTE ]
Deceptive twaddle-speak says I.
Take a modern virus and put in on a Windows 3.1 machine. Likelihood of it being a viable thread vector? Quite small.
[ QUOTE ]
And saying "NO ONE" uses them and "Obscurity instead of security" are still blanket overstatements.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I'll repeat, since you obviously didn't read it properly the first time.
1: I never said "no one" uses them. Please reread my previous statements and quote where I somehow said this.
2: And no, stating that "On Mac you're not going to get a virus 'CAUSE IT'S NOT WINDOWS" is security through obscurity. If this hurts your fragile sense of self-worth or bruises a Mac e-peen. Sorry. The truth often hurts.
[ QUOTE ]
As I said, I use both PCs and Macs and I know the good points and bad points of both. Stop preaching at me. Thank you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, I'm not preaching at YOU. If you chose to take it that way, well. What do they say about narcissism? -
BayBlast, since your personal attack on me was remove, I assume you either had a change of heart or the devs smacked you.
My original point stands. Simply feeling safe because of smaller market share and different operating system architecture does not mean you ARE safe. -
Again, nobody's saying "nobody uses them".
We're simply noting the difference in TOTAL market penetration. The Windows PC has at least 18 times the user base that Macs do.
As such, even a SMALL hit on Windows-based PCs is going to result in a larger number of compromised systems than you'd see in the Mac sphere.
